I have seen a lot of people put a lot of good ideas on youtube. But you have a way of teaching and portraying the information that is clear and concise and totally practical. Every minute of the video is used effectively. Good job on this tutorial. I look forward to browsing your channel. I don't normally post comments, but was so impressed with you and your teaching style that I needed to. Thank you!
Am looking forward to making one of these in the near future.

Great video production. To the point, free from needless filler, action on screen matched the concise commentary very well. Great job young man.

I have finished making my own and I will say it's very well designed, and the video helped a lot. Mine's basically the same though I have personalized mine a bit. I wrapped the handle with paracord, added a wrist lanyard for stability (which really really helps), added a second part of PVC that is parallel to the handle (by square lashing) that mounts a laser/light for accuracy and night time shooting, and also added a grip to pull back on since I didn't want to drop $20 on a release. One of the problems were arrows, and since I didn't want to spend any money on this (which I actually didn't), I made arrows out of fiberglass driveway stakes. These shoot great though I had to adjust the knocks a lot to fit them to the paracord. (I'd love to show you how I made them, they're great arrows and didn't cost me a penny. Just message me back and we can talk about them). They shoot straight, hard, and are strong enough to penetrate all the way through a cardboard box filled with foam, magazines, and bubble wrap as well as the earth without damaging them. I plan to make another because I have more ideas that I didn't have room for. Thanks again for the video, I'd love to send a picture though I'm not sure how.

That's a really good idea using the knotted cord to attach the rubber tubing. So simple it's nearing genius level. The more simple a design is the less incidents of failure.

Better than the rubber band is thin nylon tied in a constrictor knot. It's used in spearfishing to tie the rubbers and they are under a lot more tension, being stretched more than a metre. The rubber band will breakdown from UV and oxygen.

Don't know if anyone commented about this yet or not, but a figure 8 knot works better than the overhand knots (it won't slide up the cord) and is only slightly bigger and just as easy to tie. Nice vid! I'll have to make one of these for dispatching raccoons

good video. I have made 2 slingbows the first was with 3 cm, the second was with 2 was with 2 cm pvc. I wasn't paying attention when you said how strong the bands should be so I used 20 pound bands. Very weak. only shot about 20 steps. I didn't measure it. But they did work. Thanks

That's pretty impressive my friend. You shoot well with it. I've shot archery for 20 years here in California and you shoot about as good as I do at that range. Well done. Have you tried squirrel hunting or other small game? From the accent I think you're in the U.K. and hunting rules are very strict over there so if you do be careful. Have fun and stay safe. Good job.

I would consider wearing safety glasses while shooting a sling shot. When I was young, my band broke while drawing back, hit me, and cut my skin open, just below my eye. Had it hit my eye, I'm sure I would have lost it or at least had impaired my vision for life. Just a word of advice.

Very impressive and absolutely brilliant! I'm looking forward to trying the bow, fishing rig and takedown arrow. Can you use a broadhead with the takedown arrow? Thank you for sharing!

Rubber bands can dry rot pretty quickly. You'd be better off using a small zip tie instead.

      Dark Eternal,
I've wondered about longevity of ties, also, but wouldn't zip ties tend to cut into the bands?

CA2APat My hawaiian spear used zip ties. Over a 3-4 years it did cut through enough to split the cord but it was easy enough to cut off a few cm and redo it. It was overlapped to make it less likely to cut through. Hope that helps

CA2APat id put some kind of pad between cable tie and rubber

Some thread or small cord would work fine to do the tying. Fishing rod runner tie cord, tied the same way its done on fishing rods would work fantastic.

Dental floss or spider wire fishing line will work well.
