1956 Ford F-100 Episode 34 - Tilt Hood Flip Kit Installation

- In this episode I install a reverse tilt hood flip kit in my 1956 Ford F-100 pickup.
Installing this made in China kit was relatively easy and allows the hood to open further and close much smoother and not to mention it is now much safer at high speeds, it would be almost impossible for the hood to come open going down the road with this reverse tilt kit.
This kit would also work on 1953, 1954 and 1955 F100, F250, F350, F500, F600 and possibly the larger F700, F750, F800 and F900.

A tip for installing the track. slide the front bracket in between the fender and the fender well. Then no trimming of the fender lip or track bracket.
I just got through doing it that way.
And it worked great.
Work a small screw driver in between the fender and the fender well. 👍

Installed my hood flip kit, thanks for the video
I noticed the two rod bracings from the firewall to the upper radiator support are missing. That alone can affect alignment of the hood to the fenders. I just received my tilt hood kit and this video will help my installation. Thank you

I too have been using Hard drive magnets for working and welding on my 1956 F100. I have the tilt kit from CPP and the six 1/4 inch bolts are for mounting to the front of the hood even though the holes are larger. nowhere in the instructions does it say to notch the fender lip for the track but I figured that's what has to be done. Enjoyed your video!

So how do you like it I thought about ordering but thinking about eddie motorsports billet hood hinges instead herd to many horror stories o. Thr told hood kits
It's been awesome, no issues so far and it's way better than the stock setup.
I noticed you don't have a front bumper on the truck. I have one I'm not using if you're interested. I have no idea where you're located but I am in Southeast North Carolina.

How do you open the hood?
It still uses the factory hood latch, just open like normal except you pull the hood forward instead of lifting up.

VERY CAREFULLY drill a small hole in the hood shocks and then they will work as a hood limiter
