95% of the sema fails are the out door cars. The cars inside the buildings are normally the high dollar high quality builds.

I think nobody knows it’s a trade show or something. The whole inside is amazing builds, new products/parts, and people that mean business. The outside of the convention center is some other thing that is definitely ruining sema’s image.

I call them "Princess" trucks. Very hard for me not to laugh my ass off at them when they drive by.

You guys have to realize that most of these lifts are custom 1 off lifts that are very detailed in the arms and the craftsmanship that goes into them. Genuinely big money and time in them.
@@zeb51 I'm not doubting the craftmanship, or the money that goes into them. But when you build a truck with 7' clearance then never even let it touch mud, dirt or sand, there is no better way to describe it than a "Pavement Princess."
Thats the JP Performance Beetle, its a pretty complex build based on a car from Gran Turismo.

these trucks should have their own show. Because this is a whole different car culture where the whole point of these trucks is to make it as unusable as possible. They're putting the other actual sema builds to shame.

I use to work Kao custom auto shop in Vegas in the early 00’s. We had customer cars in the show and use to help deliver exotics to the show. Back then this everyday traffic trucks would never be allowed in.

A lot of people forget that Sema is a trade show. Pretty much all of these vehicles are there because a company sponsored them and paid for them to be there to show off their products
They are also purposely built to be loud and way over the top to show off what these companies can do

Theres 2 sides to the truck scene. Pavement princesses/compensating/look at me builds, and then functional/offroad/baja or minimalistic oem+ builds (a bit broader range ig lol). 3 if you include the built/hp truck builds ig

If it's functional, and usable then I don't have any problem with it. But yeah, most of the times they won't get out of the pavement.

I recently just got out of the lifted truck and jeep phase. Once you start looking at them and the culture. The more mods you have the more problems you'll have down the road and the fact 99% of trucks on the streets aren't used for truck things. I just got a brand new 23 taco TRD and never going back to the obnoxious lifted stuff.
Ye fr. I like more functional lifts like lets say 2 inch to 4-6 inch lifts max. But once you get into the whole custom build scenes they go from functional/oem + look to very tacky/look at me real quick 💀

It's a trade show not a car show, that's why they have big sema trucks, to show off a product like wheels or tires or suspension

Yes I agree most of the trucks are trash but there can be rlly good ones, many stock looking Cummins are pushing 600-1000hp, and many fancy looking ones are bone stock 😂

and a lifted truck with a nice paint job and wheels is like a jdm car thats clean on nice wheels with a nice paint job
I like anything with a solid engine that goes fast. Some of those diesel trucks with compound turbos are nuts. Lots of money goes into those trucks. If you build it right, I like them also. I wouldn't say 1 out of 10 because i don't like big trucks. Who doesn't like monster trucks and mud boggers. Ya, the pavement princess are useless. If you build a solid big truck to put your shop on the map for a show, then use it afterward, that's liget also. BTW Drew, love your channel. Been with ya since you had about 100k subs.
Yea drew constantly hating on anything that’s not his taste gets annoying. I’m not into those kind of trucks at all but for him to give 1/10 to trucks that’s have tens of thousands of dollars put into them and are meticulously handcrafted is pretty cringe.

I liked the one with the yacht setup, that one didn’t seem overly flashy otherwise (minus the wheels).
There were two GTR fires within minutes of each other. The guy from the 2nd fire, used HIS extinguisher on this fire. So had nothing for his which burned up a little ways down the road.

The beetle is literally from the game Gran Turismo! It has side-pipes coming out of the front fenders and a rs3 5-zylinder in it and the whole body-kit is a one of....it is from a German youtuber and tuner called JPPerformance!
