    Your english is great and I like how you are considerate of your audience by stating both metric and imperial systems while explaining. I dont have to pause the video and google ft lbs to Nm etc.

    Also something worth noting is that the HPFP on the 3.0 N57 single and double turbos tend to produce metal when worn and that causes further issues. The tri-turbo has a different pump and such problem doesn't exist. N57 also has crank bearing issues, they wear out too soon. After all these are just internal wear parts that needs servicing now and then and that is OK.

    Great vid!
    I just don't agree with the point around the air springs. I love that option (unfortunately they offered it for E70 3-row trim only).
    And to replace the pair of air springs is a simple DIY: ~$350 for the springs (Arnott) + 1.5h of easy job in your garage (no special tools required). We did this job on our F15 (the original ones survived ~90K miles under a heavy use - we tow our boat, other bimmers, trailers).

      Thanks for the info, I'd love to try that DIY myself to see how it is. Didn't know about the fact that it was 3-row only.

    I have both X5 4.8 and the ml550 this being more comfortable than my x5, yes looks better, but when it comes to performance I prefer the X5!! It drives like a sport car , I haven’t have any major issues with it!!!

      The ML is also quite an amazing car in it's own way. But the X5 is something different entirely.

    You forgot to mention that the LCI CIC is more reliable than the CCC in the pre LCI.
    However m57 is better than n57.
    Timing chain issues more in N47 engines not as much n57.
    B58 B57 would be in G series and reliable

      @market_car  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      All correct and the CIC also looks better IMO!

    Hey Man, just to add, the transfer case seems to trouble most of the Xdrive vehicles. Mine has started going, slight shudder when turning slowly, it's a pricey fix but there is a hack for this which would be to disable transfer case making it a 2x4. I've got the X5 e70 30d. Super happy with it. I have replaced the crank shaft and one tensioner along with the belt. I need to replace the trunk shocks but it's not completely gone thank goodness. All in all though, it cost me a little so I am paying in maintenance lol.

    I have a 2011 X5 50 with the N63 engine. It has been fairly reliable. Car was out of extended warranty about 6 years ago and I have had no major repairs.

    I have an opportunity at buying a 2008 X5 with 4.8i at 205,000 km. Would this be a good reliable version? am a decent DIY and a fairly technical person so am not afraid of misc maintenance and normal wear. I wish to avoid risk (and cost) of major component failure though.

      @market_car  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Probably one of the best versions to get. I recommend watching Sreten's (M539 Restorations) videos on that car to decide for yourself.

      @@market_car Ok good. My early research had been finding “the v8s are bad”. My later findings are that the 4.8 is great but have common oil leaks to deal with, it is the 4.4 that are very bad with big repairs $$$$$
