It was much more likely made by a group against teacher’s unions. Teachers generally understand that the amount of homework they give is disproportionately high. School boards and government officials are the ones pushing that garbage.

They are far more insidious than most understand, learn more about school boards and how they operate and soon after you’ll learn the true nature of the beast.

tbh they should have all picked a subject. they would have a couple of days to go over that subject than they would meet together and discuss their findings and then write specific bullet points, get a spokes person and let them read it infront of the board

Too much homework and the kids will not keep their grades up. They need more energy to do less homework and their grades will go up

I was given huge amount of english language homework for the summer one year and almost failed the class in the next year, I learned nothing, I stopped listening and barely passed the class, couldn't speak any english until 10 years ago when I started watching TH-cam videos about things what interested me.
It is not just the homework, it is the whole education system wrong, the last thing they care about is the childrens. They don't want to teach, they just there to work for the money.
And just because I'm from a different country it does not mean it is not the same in the US and in the whole western world, we are not teaching the childrens anymore so they can know things, we teaching them so they don't have time to bother their parents.

My school years were from 96-09 and I had more homework and projects from 3rd-5th grade than I did in middle and high school.

I had to teach 4th, 5th, and 6th graders last year, and I tried to keep homework to a minimum, do the work in class, y'know? And the *weirdest* part was that I got asked by the *parents* to give their kids *more* homework and projects. Said the kids "have fun with them"... Not sure whose kids they spoke to cause the kids only groaned when I made that announcement.

The 90s were my years of elementary school. If I had been a teacher back in the day, I would have assigned homework for only one subject for each day of the week: Monday: Math, Tuesday: Social Social Studies, Wednesday: Science, Thursday: A quiz, Friday: No weekend homework. At the end of each month, a test, and a project due after a holiday.

Speak up, what you afraid of? It's not your teacher. lol Homework is BS to begin with and any homework is too much and homework over a weekend or holiday is major BS. If you can't teach the kids in the time you have them then you're not a very good teacher. And i realize this is a tv show but it's also a fact of real life.

IT TAKES 2.5 HOURS TO TEACH 6 CLASSES WHERE THEY READ A CHAPTER FOR EACH AND ANSWER 30 QUESTIONS For EACH SUBJECT. The problem is twofold, the parents are lazy and the teachers are following the NEA

You go to a private Catholic school you get good education. If ray wanted her to get no homework, send her to a PS school

I’m so glad I dodged the bullet of going to Catholic school. You may get a good education at some Catholic schools, but for many you’re straight up indoctrinated by “Christian values” and aren’t taught to think critically and for yourself. The amount of horror stories I have heard from people who go to catholic school are absurd.
