      it looks like it’s really difficult to navigate.
      following the track seems to be difficult and a real challenge, as if sometimes you could follow the wrong path or is this not an issue?
      many times while watching a video with the camera inside a race car thee are ya in a track it always gives me the impression that following the track is difficult, and i’m wondering if it’s me or if it’s something that is an actually challenge to you guys that race in a track?
      i sure would love to be out there. i’ve raced those go carts in F1 Boston, and in a go cart track in Italy and i do say so myself i do pretty good. i knows it’s nothing like a pro track with real cars, but i think i have a really good feel for racing.
      whole watching this car approach other cars and wanting to pass them it makes me angry that they are in the way and won’t move out of the way to let you pass. lol
      do you guys get angry as well, or is it me again?

    • @randypobstofficial
      @randypobstofficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@ginoasci2876 Easy to follow after a couple laps. Yeah, we get angry, but only when someone is a jerk, or when we are wrong, which also happens. Haha. They don't have to get out of the way. We are supposed to figure out how to safely pass. That's racing. Thx for watching.

      Randy, get rid of those specs and have Lasik. I had it seventeen years ago at age fifty-three and every year my eyesight keeps on getting better.

      Thx Mikey. And we won. The white 718 GT4 that was chasing me a while (great newbie Jens Hantson) is in a higher class; car has a little more everything, next gen, Porsche style.

    Randy, I never really seen anyone ask this question before, but I notice that you take your hands off the conventional driving hand position (10 and 2), and you sometimes use two hands on one side of the wheel; is there any particular reason you do this, I am just curious and I love your driving which is why it is something that has always been a question of mine, any response is appreciated!

    • @eedoamitay3341
      @eedoamitay3341 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Randy Pobst For sure! You are a fantastic driver and I ask purely because I want to learn and am really into all the work you do, hope to see you get more involved in sim racing possibly one day, would love to see your thoughts and experiences with that : ) edit: in terms of the two handed thing, i really notice you do it more on road cars than racing cars, especially in your motor trend hot lap videos

      Randy Pobst Very interesting, thank you for the insight into your driving, i really didnt expect any response but i do really appreciate to get an answer from one of the pros!

    • @randypobstofficial
      @randypobstofficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thought I answered, sorry! Great question. Often, when the steering is light and the car well-balanced, or at least non-threatening, I drive mostly with one hand at a time doing most of the work, and the other merely adjusting or simply waiting to come into play as we begin to unwind from the corner. Rule of thumb is it’s best to move hands around as little as possible. You’ll also notice that in tighter corners, I often reach up with the inside hand and pull down, then finish by pushing up with the outside hand. I like to keep that outside hand in the “control range”, the upper quadrant of the wheel: if like a clock, 9 to 12 left side for right turns, 3 to 12 right side for left turns. This enables a lot, including the ability to very quickly countersteer a bit if needed, especially, for sudden oversteer.

    Why do some of the other cars seem so much faster on the straights? Is this a multi-class grid?

    • @981porsche3
      @981porsche3 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Uriah Siner: Definitely. I see 911’s in there...more power than the GT4. Pobst still looses them in the twisties.

    • @randypobstofficial
      @randypobstofficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just found this channel. Are there different class cars running? Some seem fast on banking but Randy is killer in corners

      Porsche Club Race, PCA. Yes, several classes. My car is a 400 HP Cayman GT4 ClubSport. The ones blowing by are 911 Cup Cars, more like 500 HP, faster cars. Thx for watching 👍
