You should do a vid on 17, he's an S tier in disguise. The amount of mixes and combos and shits you can do with that man if you know how to play him right is ridiculous.
17 whole reason for existing is mix and combos. The thing is if you have a sharp eye and good reaction time it's not hard to block his rukas ( 236 moves and 214 moves)
He is actually easy to counter if you have someone with an op auto combo ( Bardock, Base Goku, Janemba) where you don’t need to jump to confirm a L hit ( on his overhead move in the rekka). He is still pretty good though A or B tier.
Yeaaaaaaaaaaa Vegeta blue evolution besides can't also just be mui Goku there also has to be a Vegeta and if not he has a big chance if they add Moro arc Vegeta to fighterz he could be a really good support just saiyan *wink*
I don't even play this game, but these are really some great videos you're pushing out. Good presentation with some humor, and snappy editing throughout.
It's really sad though, seeing this it just ruins my view of him. Since i am a HUUUUGE Vegeta fan i have a Vegeta team whenever i'm in the mood, and since i'm poor as all hell i just run the free Vegetas so no Base Vegeta. Future Trunks (Technically Vegeta), Super Vegeta, Blue Vegeta. But back to the point, i'll keep this mind and try to be careful whenever i play as him. If only i did have Base Vegeta though. Also great video, good job, and keep it up!
thanks dude! not sure if you put your team in order there, but you should stick vegeta blue at the front. he's not great but point is still his best role by far
Backboarding off of moldy's statement.....he is completely correct In my experience laying him He does remind me about the universe 6 vs. 7 ark When vegeta fought hit He went all out in the beginning.
I love this character and he's definitely aimless. I've had some AH HA moments in the lab, thinking I figured out how to play him in neutral, or mix, but it always ends up being way more situational once I revisit it. Cell has some, interesting(?) Extentions off big bang, but like, why not just have a beam or vegeta ssj or bardock b. I think they could balance him by just giving him crazy meter gain. Like imagine if you got a grab and it gave you a whole ass bar. I wouldn't care if it didnt hit croutchers. Any time I trick people into getting snagged it always feels better than just command grabbing with Broly or Base Goku.
I'm having those "AH HA" moments with him as well (albeit, I'm not as in depth as most players as I'm still a newbie) and it feels great. It also puts a smile on my face to hear you mention Cell since he's also on my team, along with Kid Buu, so now I'm excited!
I used to main vegeta blue and now that you mention it, meter gain wouldn't be too bad of an idea. Maybe not a whole bar for a grab though lol but more meter gain would definitely help compensate and I would definitely pick back up the character and play around with it.
I feel like the reason behind this character's aimless design is because of where the show was at when the game came out. How many full fights did vegeta blue have by this game's launch, which I believe was midway through the zamasu arc? He was either beating the tar out of somebody much weaker than him or getting annihilated, there wasn't really a moment that showed him equal with someone. I mean, the "on a scale of one to ten" move was just based on a quick moment while he was training with trunks, I'd hardly call that important enough to become a main part of his toolset.
No it came out during the Tournament of Power but was likely being developed as the Black Arc was coming out. Up to that arc, Blue Vegeta had a total of 4 actual fights which were - Pummeling Golden Freiza - Getting destroyed by Hit - losing to Goku Black in their 1st fight - destroying Goku Black in their 2nd fight He had a few sparing sessions and assists like training with Trunks before they went back into the past and pushing away Fused Zamasu's blast with Trunks.
@@genericwhitemale9566 Yeah, all of those were, in my words from a year ago, him beating the tar out of somebody much weaker than him or getting annihilated. There were never really many opportunities for Vegeta Blue to really showcase any unique moves in that time, whereas if it was developed post-ToP they'd have a lot more to work with
I've seen this somewhere else, but maybe give him Blue Evolution as a level 3, which acts like a Golden Frieza type of thing. It could also include SSJBE Vegeta in the game without using a character slot.
Alot of wrong information in this video. I think you should lab this character more carefully. Here is a small list of corrections: 1. The medium rekkas don't have a massive gap. The gap is under 4f, so you cannot vanish out of them or 2H it. Small gap, not massive. 2. The first ex Rekka does not only 100 more damage, it increases the damage on the follow-up as well. You didn't even mention the range it has. 3. That's not how you use the 2nd ex Rekka. Like, at all. The gap is not massive yet again. 4. Didn't even talk about the last ex Rekka... 5. Since when are 20f grabs slow? Not that they are supposed to be used in blockstrings like that anyway. 6. Yes, it whiffs on crouchers. Not the only grab in the game that whiffs on crouchers, it's not supposed to be used like Broly's grabs, he is not a grabbler. 7. You say Goku Blue's 17f grab is fast, but said earlier Vegeta Blue's Rekkas are slow? You know they are 17f too, right? 8. The kiblasts aren't slow, they have normal speed. Trainingsmode has even framedata now. 9. No Kiblast is "just a combo tool". That's just misleading. 10. Garlic Gun is not useless, it does more damage than Niagara-super and is the go-to super-ender for that reason. 11. You can land Garlic Gun midscreen without ex grab (or any grab for that matter). You just need to dash forward. The edits are funny, entertaining video if I would just take it as entertainment. Sadly, the quality of the content and what is presented is very misleading and at some places just straight-up lies or lack of proper lab time with the character. I suggest you spend a bit more time with the character, actually lab what he is capable of doing. Or ask someone who knows the character. Have a good day!
The fact that he has the general Vegeta normals makes him mid tier at least, his mix got nerfed in S2 actually, which is plain stupid, he used to get better mix off of his rekkas, it's still loads better than like half the cast though. He has some mind games off of the rekkas and contrary to popular belief, his neutral isn't that bad if you know when and where to use his big bang attack. Certainly not the worst in the game by far. Let's look at Base Vegeta, what makes B Vegeta better than Blue Vegeta? Literally 2 things, Ex kick and better ki blasts. This means Blue Vegeta is like 2 minor buffs away from being top tier, if they'd maybe just buff his rekkas a bit more in neutral and gave him a grounded spammable kiblast like B Vegeta and SSJ have.
Galick gun IS pretty useless though. Barely does more damage than niagara on paper, but niagara can be combo’d ( i like to super dash into a Big Bang into a C assist (goku blues) And dhc galick gun can miss
@@alberttaylor6323 Niagara post-smash has double-super penalty. So no, you cannot replace Garlic Gun with Niagara. If you dont want to DHC further and just kill with the 1 super of Vegeta Blue, Niagara will do more tho, that's right (but also only if you are in the corner and HSD allows to connect anything meaningful). If DHC Garlic Gun misses for you, then you just need to practise and lab better DHC routes. It never misses for me.
Ya'll check this out: th-cam.com/video/a9Dp9w7JTkY/w-d-xo.html This guy counters most of the points made in this video. If you lab him you will find out that he is pretty OD.
I’ll always feel a part of this is the issue of having the 3 Gokus and Vegetas early on in the game Ultra Instinct Goku didn’t have these kinda problems but the other all use similar attacks and animations from each other and when there are even a select few abilities and just general ideas they could’ve pulled from later on in Super or even in the Broly movie too bad the Super manga was opted to be completely ignored too all this kinda subject to when this game originally was in development
I mean tier lists are just opinions who is a good character and who is not. but even if you play with your favorite there is no problem. *cough* I’m main black *cough* but if you want to play with the worst character in the tier lists you can who said you can’t? As I said tier lists are just opinions of who is a good character for facts like the frames and combos. But I repeat it isn’t like that character doesn’t exist.
I love videos like this, were the creator doesn't feel the need to talk to fulfill their ego to "be heard and have a voice and not hide behind a screen". Well edited, funny, great soundtrack and understanding of the information being presented. Awesome work.
I don’t think he is the worst, I just think all of low tier characters (Ginyu, Jiren, 17, Beerus, etc.) is just “meh” to me. I won’t lie, I love playing Jiren, but I don’t just brush off his counters, they still suck. All in all, I just think that it doesn’t matter who you pick. If you have fun playing them, then that makes them good for you (at the very least)
How can you say he's bad? I have a 123828% win rate and a Blue Evolution rank using him as a point...you just need to gitgud or adjust your gameplan - Every fanboy ever
"On a scale of one to ten, I give you a three!!" Can be useful for round start, snap those jumping oponents out of the air and also has ki blast deflect like if it was a super dash
I think that if a sequel ever gets made, they should consolidate the clone characters into 1 or 2 max. Take the best parts of all of them and leave out the underwhelming parts. Maybe even make transformations a mechanic. The roster would be much smaller, but each character would feel more unique.
El Dorito right, that’s sort of why the comparison makes a good argument that Blugeta is the wrong way to do it and DBZ Broly is the right way to do it.
@@luhloieed6466 well that's why he is an ineffective grappler since his command throws are not usable in strings like DBZ Broly, Bluku, DBS Broly, etc. And arguing that the throw is just suppose to be an SKD option doesn't make sense because then they just woulda made it a move similar to that of a bluku dive kick of gt goku qcb move (i forget the name). Because it is specifically a grab it feels like their intention was to allow him to use it conventionally to mix but it really only works on up tech or snap.
Lloyd Lozandier you’re right, but that proves the point I’m trying to make. When making a fighting game if you create multiple characters that fit a similar sub category, but one is dramatically less effective at his intention than the other, he won’t be played. Because Bluegeta is just a shell of the other characters in his sub category of semi zoner semi grappler he’s pretty bad just for lacking those tools. I think we agree, we are just getting caught up in semantics like move sets and stuff.
Vegeta blue mains rise up. I rather main him than main braindead glue eating LLLLLLLL vegito, teen gohan and bardock. He does need some significant changes tho
This whole video is pretty much cap tbf he hasn’t shown his basic bnbs that actually does damage and his vegeta blue loops that’s pretty practical he’s just showing us impractical meter dump combos.
@@cagewaters4910 okay well his choke slam starts combos, his rekka kicks create a high low mix, big bang attack is an amazing anti homing dash tool that starts huge damage combos on the ground, second hit of rekka kicks EX gets a side switch and he's the only character with an air level 5. Obviously he has stubby normals sure and he's a point character with little assist value outside of specific synergies but someone like 17 or ginyu are much less complete packages
Did you even watch the video? His choke slam doesn't hit crouching opponents, his kicks besides light are 100% reactable on block and you even have time for a level 3 between them, EX kick uses a bar for every kick, big bang is an average anti-homing tool at best, and his combos take way too much meter to get the effect that good characters get with way less meter.
Any character is good as a point. Any character with 2 assist will be a good character. However, that being said, there's no reason why you should play BluGeta instead of BaseGeta or SSGeta.
He made a new video talking about how Vegeta blue is now, and it’s easily better than this one is in terms of quality, which is saying a lot considering how great this video is already. Vegeta’s improved in the last 9 months, and so has Moldy’s editing.

Crouching in stealth games be like
2:13
You should do a vid on 17, he's an S tier in disguise. The amount of mixes and combos and shits you can do with that man if you know how to play him right is ridiculous.
17 whole reason for existing is mix and combos. The thing is if you have a sharp eye and good reaction time it's not hard to block his rukas ( 236 moves and 214 moves)
He has good mix but they are unsafe
any time I play a good 17 main they fuck me up beyond recognition
He is actually easy to counter if you have someone with an op auto combo ( Bardock, Base Goku, Janemba) where you don’t need to jump to confirm a L hit ( on his overhead move in the rekka). He is still pretty good though A or B tier.
Let's not forget THE METER THIS DUDE BUILDS.
For real, during sparking it feels like at every combo he'll build up to 4 bars at least
0:46 OH SHIT, GAMERS, HE'S GOT A GUN!!!
They have to stay accurate to the anime.
Blugeta voice line should be changed to "On scale from one to ten I'll give me a 3"
The lid isnt closed there is still hope
But I kinda am hoping ssbe is a dlc vegeta that's my favorite
Yeaaaaaaaaaaa Vegeta blue evolution besides can't also just be mui Goku there also has to be a Vegeta and if not he has a big chance if they add Moro arc Vegeta to fighterz he could be a really good support just saiyan *wink*
I don't even play this game, but these are really some great videos you're pushing out. Good presentation with some humor, and snappy editing throughout.
thank you!

Ik ._.
I see... so this is a total contrast to the “pls nerf” videos I’ve seen before...
huh in a way i suppose
I love these types of videos. Please make more of ‘em, especially for characters like Videl and Ginyu.
"And yeah, these guys are pretty bad"
>Ginyu, a character who makes top 8 quite frequently
lmao

Source?
Up to that arc, Blue Vegeta had a total of 4 actual fights which were
- Pummeling Golden Freiza
- Getting destroyed by Hit
- losing to Goku Black in their 1st fight
- destroying Goku Black in their 2nd fight
He had a few sparing sessions and assists like training with Trunks before they went back into the past and pushing away Fused Zamasu's blast with Trunks.
@@genericwhitemale9566 Yeah, all of those were, in my words from a year ago, him beating the tar out of somebody much weaker than him or getting annihilated. There were never really many opportunities for Vegeta Blue to really showcase any unique moves in that time, whereas if it was developed post-ToP they'd have a lot more to work with
I saw the Why vegeta blue doesn't suck anymore. Now im here
1:33 You almost killed me choking on my food showing this scene to me.. Just wanted to let you know.
I've seen this somewhere else, but maybe give him Blue Evolution as a level 3, which acts like a Golden Frieza type of thing. It could also include SSJBE Vegeta in the game without using a character slot.
Alot of wrong information in this video. I think you should lab this character more carefully. Here is a small list of corrections:
TALK TO HIM!!!!
He gets off way more damage than normal characters. His ex cancel super does so much damage if used right
The fact that he has the general Vegeta normals makes him mid tier at least, his mix got nerfed in S2 actually, which is plain stupid, he used to get better mix off of his rekkas, it's still loads better than like half the cast though.
Barely does more damage than niagara on paper, but niagara can be combo’d ( i like to super dash into a Big Bang into a C assist (goku blues)
And dhc galick gun can miss
@@alberttaylor6323 Niagara post-smash has double-super penalty. So no, you cannot replace Garlic Gun with Niagara. If you dont want to DHC further and just kill with the 1 super of Vegeta Blue, Niagara will do more tho, that's right (but also only if you are in the corner and HSD allows to connect anything meaningful).
If DHC Garlic Gun misses for you, then you just need to practise and lab better DHC routes. It never misses for me.

Love how the newest video is Vegeta is top tier
I’ll always feel a part of this is the issue of having the 3 Gokus and Vegetas early on in the game Ultra Instinct Goku didn’t have these kinda problems but the other all use similar attacks and animations from each other and when there are even a select few abilities and just general ideas they could’ve pulled from later on in Super or even in the Broly movie too bad the Super manga was opted to be completely ignored too all this kinda subject to when this game originally was in development

Imagine worrying about tiers and not just playing your favorite characters
Every character is viable, people just like each characters play styles more, and this guy created the video because he is bad with bluegeta
Every character i viable except for vegeta blue, he is Bad designed
Tiers or not, the character sucks balls
I mean tier lists are just opinions who is a good character and who is not. but even if you play with your favorite there is no problem.
*cough* I’m main black *cough* but if you want to play with the worst character in the tier lists you can who said you can’t? As I said tier lists are just opinions of who is a good character for facts like the frames and combos. But I repeat it isn’t like that character doesn’t exist.

too bad it's wrong
I don’t think he is the worst, I just think all of low tier characters (Ginyu, Jiren, 17, Beerus, etc.) is just “meh” to me. I won’t lie, I love playing Jiren, but I don’t just brush off his counters, they still suck. All in all, I just think that it doesn’t matter who you pick. If you have fun playing them, then that makes them good for you (at the very least)

I'm with moldybagel. I have played this for 2018 and I'm a sweat but you WILL NEVER SEE ME PLAY DBFZ WITH "VEGETA BLUE"
When your weakest stade is the best in the game and your most powerful stade is the worst in the game.
Visible confusion.
When they nerfed him and made it so you couldn’t combo his command grab in air without using the EX version, I stopped playing him.
I think that if a sequel ever gets made, they should consolidate the clone characters into 1 or 2 max. Take the best parts of all of them and leave out the underwhelming parts. Maybe even make transformations a mechanic. The roster would be much smaller, but each character would feel more unique.
Everyone has to deal with this while I play my xenoverse 2-
Honestly Bluegeta just feels like an underwhelming DBZ Broly in the sense that they are both attempts at a grappler/zoner
But then again you shouldn’t even be comparing those characters they are on opposite ends of the tier list

Some random dude online: Are you sure about.
No
He's actually good. First hit of EX kicks really Jacks your combo damage up, he can combo off supers, great corner combos
ON A SCALE OF ONE TO TEN,I‘LL GIVE YOU A THREE.
😂😂😂
You just described at least half the cast, and I don't think comboing off supers is all that great.
“Reason why Vegeta Blue sucks: I don’t know how to use him”
A nice mix of informative and comedic.
appreciate it!
Personally, Blue Vegeta is good as a point character.
Yeah, but vegeta base and ssj are better
Yeah but once you play better players trust me he’s just not going to work
Blugeta is only decent as a point character, anywhere else he is useless
Any character is good as a point. Any character with 2 assist will be a good character.
However, that being said, there's no reason why you should play BluGeta instead of BaseGeta or SSGeta.
I used to put him in the middle because of his big bang attack assit, untill I replaced him with SS Vegeta

He made a new video talking about how Vegeta blue is now, and it’s easily better than this one is in terms of quality, which is saying a lot considering how great this video is already. Vegeta’s improved in the last 9 months, and so has Moldy’s editing.
