      The more stuff for the BW the better ;) Are you playing solo?

      @@wrymouthstudio Yes i am a solo gamer i only played against an opponent few times on line with my friend Ian... never really affected my enjoyment of the game i am sure will be the same with Barons War. Love the rules cant wait to start my showcase of the armies and workshops of the rules. The only problem is when you shoot a solo battle report it is very very very difficult takes time and effort ..people cant realize...shouting the video moving both armies finding the correct positions to take the shot editing adding graphics something i do for all my battle reports my production level is quite high it is exhausting..;)

      @@MedievalWargamer sounds great! It’s your hobby you do it your way! This is the way it is! I need people to play with. I need to play in order to paint. I love a bit of banter during the games too! I really look forward to your BW material! Have fun doing it man! I’ll also share when it’s out :)

    Great way to present the game as a learning experience for viewers. Thanks for explaining what all the rolls meant and how to apply rules.

    I have been waiting ages for someone to make battle reports on the Baron's War game and I am so happy to have found your channel. Excellent report and thank you for explaining the game in detail as you played it. I have the rule book and now it is tike to order some models from Footsore. Cheers guys and please make us another battle report soon.

    Great batrep! Being new to game, I’m soaking up as much BW as I can.
    Shared it with a friend, though he has subscribed already.
    Just have to wait on my retinue turning up.

    I just heard about this game a few days ago and I'm glad you guys have pumped out a stellar bat rep! I haven't pulled the trigger on the rulebook yet as I still have some reservations but I had a question regarding the points: It sounds like 500 is a bit on the small side, but how many points would you recommend for a 4'x3' battlefield? And approximately how many units would that total?

    • @wrymouthstudio
      @wrymouthstudio  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ghoul_fuel1099 My apologies for not answering earlier! I'd recommend 700 - 750 points. The number of groups would depend on group size, in my lists it is anything between 5-6 units approx 30 - 35 models.

    Very nice battle report and interesting army, nice terrain as well. I like it that you try to explain everything so well and also provide some thoughts about possible actions (like using one action to get another die for initiative). Overall I like BW but I don't love it. We have played a couple of times so far and somehow we are not totally sold. It seems a bit clumsy (like the scene with the two obstacles you can't see over...I do get it ruleswise why they did it but it seems totally counter intuitive to me) and not always balanced. Saying that we are in the process of painting all the minis we need for the Robin Hood campaign, maybe that alters our perspective as we have to use the minis and experience that we are told. Anyway, keep the good work on and greetings from Austria, I totally appreciate your effort! :)

      @wrymouthstudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank a lot for watching and sharing your experience with the game so far! It’s true that by stacking abilities you can absolutely make lists that are overpowered. It depends on the approach I guess. I personally go with the rule of cool, where the rules support my idea about a force I want to play with not the other way around. I never had much problem with it myself. In tournament play Mark and Footsore came to some cool regulation rules that are worth taking a look at. To me this game along with Blood and Plunder are my favourites and I spent most hobby time thinking and working on them. I hope your Robin Hood force will work well for you and that you’ll enjoy the campaign! Have fun and Merry Christmas!

      @@wrymouthstudio We didn't really intend to maximise something but military order foot sergeants with armour and x-bows are a pest....and while I really like the historic background and the work that went into everything I consider the rule book to be a bit mediocre. You don't find things easily and the whole sturcture is sometimes a bit odd. Yes we are no native speakers but our ENglish is reasonable good and we do play many other systems that seem to work a bit smoother. As you mentiond Blood and Plunder, I have to admit I do prefer it when it comes to playing...somehow more interactive and the multiple activations seem to suit my playing style. And I do find the card avtivation to be very stylish. Btw you seem to have a good command of the rules which is a very good thing...I still can't get my head around the different psychological effects all the time. ;)

    • @wrymouthstudio
      @wrymouthstudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@tomisopp975 I am not a native speaker myself ;) Mark and Ian are :) I agree with what you said about the structure of the book. It was my observation as well. Not only mine and yours, Footsore are aware of that too and I am sure they will fix it. I find that even though the structure of the book is not as good as it could be, as soon as you start playing it all comes together beautifully. But we all are entitled to our opinions of course. Military Orders are strong but also very expensive! We will be doing some Outremer battle reports soon as well!

    thank you for your x-mas present (-: Very nice to see how other people play this game. Because the rules a written not so clearly for non english-native-speakers. I am from Austia btw. And love to play this game. But some rules are very hard to archive...i.e. the coherency rule ist very clunky in comparison to other games. Because 2 inch Bubbles "totally inside" is very hard to hold on.
    But i love your game...hope to see more in the future.

    • @wrymouthstudio
      @wrymouthstudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi! Happy to share our love for BW with everyone! Coherency is not that bad if you keep your units in suitable numbers. It is basically a 5 inch bubble/circle - it’s 2 inch on each side from the edge of the base (which is one inch) of the centre miniature. My biggest unit consist of 8 warriors and it seems to work fine! Thanks, and I hope the game will keep growing in you :) Merry Christmas!

    • @theandyhobday
      @theandyhobday 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The idea is for the coherency rule to work as it does. Don’t forget a group doesn’t have to end your turn within the bubble, however not being in coherency limits what your next action can be.

    not sure does overcharge can go thought the losers ? if yes they should not stay so close to cavalry (at least 1 inch) ?

    • @markvance7672
      @markvance7672 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah you push back the unit then come out of the back 1 inch for each casualty plus d6. If it hits another unit you then resolve that immediately. Meams you can be within an imch of the unit you have just come through but only briefly .

    • @wrymouthstudio
      @wrymouthstudio  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As Mark just explained! It is arguably the coolest rule of the game ;) It is a double sided sword though! If the overcharge takes you beyond the table border, your entire unit is lost and your warriors count as casualties for the purpose of the game!
