You can't regret having the FE. It's the best phone in the entire line up of the S20 and the S21. Its main lens camera is better than all of them, including the 21 ultra.
I bought the S20 FE for about $490 US a week ago alongside an S21 Ultra, So far I'm preferring the S20 FE over the S21 Ultra for everything. Battery feels better, the camera bump feels less awkward, Plus the fact that you still have the magnetic thing on Samsung pay that they removed off the S21.

I just got the phone and wanted to find out the stuff that will be great or annoying. The humor of course is a hit and since I always watch videos on 1.25 speed it’s a really great voice for that as well.
Had the S20 FE since launch, Oct 2020. Already gone from One UI 2.5 to 3.0 and now 3.1 Samsung has really stepped up its support game. 5 months already 2 major OS upgrades.

Purchased this phone following yours and other positive reviews it was a toss-up between OnePlus and the Samsung. I haven’t regretted the decision not one bit. My previous phone was a Nokia 8 so it certainly was a step up. I got the 256gb model with 8gb of RAM, for me plenty of space & speed. The camera is great, suppose like most people I don’t use half its features but it nice to know they are there! I enjoy your reviews, the down-to-earth approach makes me laugh. My Mrs purchased a Samsung S10 Lite a while ago again after watching your review, gone are the days you read mags! The power of TH-cam rules OK - keep up your excellent work.
I've got the S20 FE 5g, the rear camera fails to focus. It can take 3-5 seconds to eventually focus, by which time my kids have moved. Like the phone overall, especially the screen and battery life
I bought one March 1, 2021, based largely on your (and others') TH-cam review. It does not disappoint. I'm coming from an S7, so it's leaps and bounds further advanced but still fairly familiar. To be honest, it was the price that first caught my attention. Phones are ridiculously expensive here in Canada and paying close to $2K+ for what amounts to a camera attached to a phone just wasn't for me. The S20 FE is still dear but I feel there's far greater value. I'm still figuring out the many features and settings but thanks to channels like yours, it's fairly straightforward. I have no issue with the "glasstic" back panel; the phone is in a case anyway. And while the pretty colours are nice, in a case they don't matter either, so I went with the dark blue. :)
It was basically your first two reviews of the S20 FE 5G that decided it for me. What a brilliant phone. I love everything about it. I upgraded from a Pixel 3, which was a brilliant little phone, but the FE is an improvement in every way. I thought I would miss stock android but I love One UI, in fact I think I prefer it! I bought Samsung Galaxy S20 Fans Edition 5G last December and have been using it everyday. I am fully satisfied with it. The price preposition value is remarkable.

Just signed a contract with Vodafone for this phone today as I wanted a S21+ but was out of stock so I did my research and this one's actually better since I need my SD card and the S21 doesn't have it but this one does ! I'm used to big screens and gonna upgrade from my beloved S8+ ❤ Can't wait to receive it in a few days !

I was looking at the Pixel 4a 5g until I saw this phone. Snapdragon 865, 120Hz refresh rate, 3 lens camera including 3x optical zoom, Micro SD memory support, all this is hard to ignore. In the US prices have dropped to $599 new, and cheaper refurbished. I watch your videos and a bunch of other S21 FE videos ( I went nuts) and most reviews have been positive. I think my next phone is going to be the Galaxy S20 FE.
I love this though and I can see myself having it for several years I bought it a year after it came out and all I see is videos of how much better it is of the S21

@@st4849 ya that could be a reason, but that would be really stupid of samsung since buyers won't search the internet specifically if s20fe supports hdr on netflix, cos it supports hdr in general. Its quite bad for buyers who trusted samsung and bought FE on the first day of launch. Anyhooo, I learnt my lesson, never buy a phone on pre-booking before its launch.
I've got a white S21. If I turn on the flashlight (torch to you?) and cover the light with my finger (so I'm not blinded), the whole glasstic back lights up in a cool way. It's a feature! So yeah, I'm glad I upgraded from the S10e! ◻️👁️
Had mine for 5 months and it is a pleasure to use. Solid device. Way less expensive than my wife's iPhone 12 and the flexibility of the FE blows Apple away. One other thing, in weak cell reception areas my FE still works when the iPhone struggles. Did I say way less expensive (like $400) for a better phone?
yes I have one too and I assure you even with a case on and a screen protector Do not drop this phone gorilla Glass 3 is a problem although I do love this phone I like the selfies on it better than any camera I have had and I've owned Samsung since s6 not that I take many selfies but I just ordered the s21 ultra and it's a beast of a phone and that pictures are really really good and I have a large yard and sometimes I want to see things so for me it might be a better one but I love the MST I love the fact that the phone was relatively inexpensive and it also has MST which I had no idea how useful it was because I really never used Samsung pay! And let's not forget the expandable storage even though I doubt I'll use the 256 that it comes with!
Using the S20FE5G now and love it. I beat the hell out of the battery all day and still end with about 10% with 7 hrs SOT. First Android that could last my whole day. I drive a lot for work and use my phone for podcast and youtube in the background. Love the camera too all for a friendly price.

Saw your one-month video and now this. My S7 just died last night (froze then went into an endless boot-loop). Big Red has this for $600 and after much researching and comparison against S21 and S22, this is the phone I want. Mainly, the MicroSD card because I store my music on the SD card. I refuse to stream my music and since Google Music went away, I don't have a way to stream my music except through TH-cam and I can't download any of my purchased music anymore. Luckily, I backed up all my music before they shut down Google music, so this S20 having the MicroSD slot is a big plus. Overall, the reviews I've seen of this phone, including yours, has sold me to purchase the phone. In fact, one store had it and it was gone within 30 minutes, so I ordered it online from another store in my city so I can pick it up today. Also, based on the other comments, sounds like this phone is an excellent purchase. I was also looking at the A53 but reading up on it numerous people are stating blue-tooth connection problems, especially in their cars. I use my phone in my car for hands-free driving, as well my car has Android Auto in it, so Google Maps is a nice feature to have when travelling. No head-phone hack is not a big loss for me as I've been using a nice set of Blue-tooth ear buds, so I'm not too sad about that (when that WAS a big factor 5+ years ago along with the MicroSD card slot).
I guess this smartphone should be honored as the best Samsung's phone in the last 2 or 3 years.For once they've put together all their effort to come up with a fantastic device with no compromises at a reasonable price. In fact this device beats not only other Samsung phones but almost any other Android smartphone including Poco, Pixel and OnePlus. Still can't wrap my head around the fact so many people overlook this beast.
Do you have touchscreen issues, ghost touches or laggy camera (it takes a bit longer to open app and focus image on app launch, also menus are a bit slow if you have that laggy camera isssue).
My review. I got the 5G blue version for £599 Black Friday from Argos. I also bought the Galaxy Buds Plus, the my brother bought me the official wired AKG wired earphones, and the USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. I also got a clear 360 type case. Audio quality is great, which ever earphones I am using. The cameras have been most fine. During the snow in my area Bexley/Belvedere, the white balance was slightly blue in some photos, with the wide and ultra wide cameras. Telephoto was fine. Overall photo quality has been good enough for me to go riding, without taking my Lumix compact. It takes good close up (macro) photos, without the use of gimmicky macro cameras in some other midrange phones. Just before Christmas, the phone received Android 11, One UI 3.0. Before and after the update the phone has been stable, with no issues. The update did mess some of my settings and I had to redo all the Bluetooth pairings with my car, earphones and other devices. I would have preferred 256GB version, because I am using both sims. It has not been problem so far, as I can use a USB-C memory stick to move data to and from the phone. The WiFi and phone reception on both sims are good. Couple of things not mentioned by Chris is a touchscreen issue that can affect some units. I have not noticed any problems with mine, and like anything, a few will have this problem, but others not. I was aware of this before I bought my phone and pleased it has performed well without issue. The other thing is the wireless DEX. I have a Samsung TV, so DEX works well if I want use the big screen. Battery life is good and it recharges quite fast. I think this is a great phone for me, and should last for a long while.
I've recently purchased the s21 for two reasons: (1) small (thin bezels) , light yet flagship specs (2) samsung eco system My brother owns the pixel 5 and I seriously have no regrets with this purchase Having a reasonably small flagship phone is underrated! Ps: I still rate the s20 fe but those bezels kill it off for me
Just bought the S20 FE 5G direct from Samsung. Traded in my S9+ and first impressions is it’s a real step up from the S9+ Very fast in comparison with great battery life. Not had chance to review the camera properly yet. Always thought the S9+ camera was pretty good but guess the S20 FE will be another step up. Overall very happy 👍🏻
Bought this for me and my wife, love it. Super quick, great battery, wireless charging. Get a usb c to usb c cable and plug to get the quick charge capabilities.

I had an fe and sold it. Every morning it would forget that nova launcher was the default and kept trying to go back to one ui. So every morning I had to manually choose nova. Every morning. Also had random ghost app window images from the multi tasking window stay on the screen even though nothing was open. A reboot was the only fix. Fingerprint sensor was also finicky. All those things combined, made me sell it.
@@Mubashir_AK Got the shits with it and sold it. I did though email the nova launcher people. They replied with some potential fixes to try (nothing worked) and a statement that it was a known android bug affecting a lot of phones, but especially samsungs.
Haha ! ..... a year after this cool video , I got the Oppo Find X3 Pro for £350, over 24 months - and that is brand spanking new ! ( I bought an "unlimited everything " SIM card separate ).
Holy Crumpets, I used the FE for 9wks, now the S21+. Enjoying the 21+ very much. But I still recommend the FE why? Well, it's cheaper, and it's just as fast with the 865processer? The design is gorgeous especially the cloud red. You can't go wrong for it's price? The display on both are very good, can't go wrong with the FE? OK blok, very good review!

Watching this with a FE 4g, thought saving £100 was worth taking a hit, I gotta say paying the additional £100 for the 5g one is worth it, though the 4g one will get much cheaper relatively quick, It's like the 5g, with 20% less battery and about 15% less CPU power (Please don't game on the 4g the battery will die in less than 2.5 hours if you play let's say COD mobile, even with some mad optimizations like getting rid of half of the system included apps) If you can find the 4g under £450 it's worth buying though.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, one time I need to RMA this phone, because of the screen issue, next time I receive a brand new phone (same phone), same problem. I bought a one plus 8.
I will be (FINALLY) upgrading from my old J3 Emerge to this phone. Hopes up. This appears to do more than I actually need, so that gives me some 'legroom'.

9:51 Very true! Very, VERY few phones are able to catch our kids running around (Im looking at you Android flagships). If anything, I noticed its the lower specced cams that can capture moving subjects. (Processing overload on flagships?) Heck, for iphone her current 12promax can barely keep up with our kid in the park compared to the XR's much simpler camera (severely cracked screen, but serves well as a cam)
I've had my galaxy S20FE for about a week now and absolutely love it. The only issue I have is that there is no notification light and no way to pick a customize text tone for my contacts which I find to be very annoying.
Hi! You can actually pick a customize text tone for contacts by enabling Bixby routines! Just enable Bixby routines in settings and create a new routine where you pick the contact in the "if" part and set a tone to the "then" part :)

@@covidaint1921 Just got it about 4 hours ago. Other than transferring all my data/accounts/passwords/ etc it works pretty good. One bonus feature is having WiFi calling on it now (I use Cricket Wireless) that wasn't available on the old phone.

Did you had issues with the cameras (Specially the Selfie one like the reviewer looks like at 12:08 ) or were they fixed?. 5G Snapdragon version?. Had any issues regarding 4G/5G modes' coverage? I'm planning no replacing (but keeping) my S7 (Exynos) to the S20 FE 5G Snapdragon but the coverage and cameras are kinda dragging me from not buying it...
@@DVTHEFOX I can't comment on the camera functions yet (I just got the dang thing) but I did the latest software update and Cricket Wireless (I'm here in Minnesota USA) notified me (text message) that WiFi calling was now enabled (not a feature on the S7 Active), which is great since cell service in my lower level townhouse sucks. I haven't been outside yet to see if the phone connects to 5G AT&T towers yet. I really only got the new phone because the screen on my S7 Active was going bonkers (pink and green lines). I'll post an update once I walk around the neighborhood and see what 4G/5G signals I get.

There is no LDAC (or aptX / aptX HD). Thanks, Chris, for yet another entertaining and informative video - I watched it on my S20 FE 5G. Small correction: the phone does not have any HD audio codecs on Bluetooth - just the basic SBC. This is odd and frustrating as the hardware is capable of it (it's software disabled - see “developer options”). In general, I like the phone, but there are few more quibbles: for some reason WiFi defaults to 2GHz band (there's no way to choose preference to 5GHz even in “developer options”). I expected better battery life (after your initial review), but it could be just my model has s slightly daft battery. And yes, tonnes of bloatware (hogging a lot of RAM in addition to Flash).
Got my red FE on preorder, and I've had no regrets. Yes the touch screen issue is legit but if it gets buggy I just restart it and it's okay. I don't regret my choice, it's well worth it for the price. I traded in my S9+ and got this for only 300
I had an older LG for a few years and I just got an iPhone 6s Plus from a friend a few months ago. I’m running into many problems with it since it’s a used phone and I’m looking to buy a new one when I get the money. I’ve never spent more than a hundred on a phone though, so I’m a bit nervous about getting this phone. Also the lack of a headphone jack bothers me too haha
Ah mate, this phone annoys me, because of what it reminds me, I had one bought from Amazon, but it had screen touch issues, returned it, but Amazon is claiming that the box was empty on arrival, so now I have no phone or refund, I reported this theft to the police, be aware of Amazon, if you return any item and if the courier or Amazon staff steal the item, you have no chance of getting your money back, I’ve been back and forward with Amazon for a month and now I’ve been blocked, can’t call or get any reply if I try to get this sorted. Amazon never again...
In fact I love super amoled than dynamic amoled. Dynamic amoled is hugely tinted but super amoled has better white point. I also like big lightweight phones than big heavyweight phones. I have the 20 FE and I decided to buy the S21 Ultra for better cameras but the FE main lens camera actually looks better than the 21 ultra main lens camera. The FE photos have details and clarity on photos than the 21 ultra, especially on humans. I tried them over and over and got the same results so I returned the Ultra. I understand the versatility of the cameras on the ultra but the main camera must be the best one. You use it more than the others.
I find it funny how I own this phone but I'm still watching these videos to check if I made a good choice.

I've got a white S21. If I turn on the flashlight (torch to you?) and cover the light with my finger (so I'm not blinded), the whole glasstic back lights up in a cool way. It's a feature! So yeah, I'm glad I upgraded from the S10e! ◻️👁️
Had mine for 5 months and it is a pleasure to use. Solid device. Way less expensive than my wife's iPhone 12 and the flexibility of the FE blows Apple away. One other thing, in weak cell reception areas my FE still works when the iPhone struggles. Did I say way less expensive (like $400) for a better phone?
S21 removed MST payment technology, in addition to expandable storage. My S20 FE 5g lives inside a case, so I don't miss a glass back that much.

yes I have one too and I assure you even with a case on and a screen protector Do not drop this phone gorilla Glass 3 is a problem although I do love this phone I like the selfies on it better than any camera I have had and I've owned Samsung since s6 not that I take many selfies but I just ordered the s21 ultra and it's a beast of a phone and that pictures are really really good and I have a large yard and sometimes I want to see things so for me it might be a better one but I love the MST I love the fact that the phone was relatively inexpensive and it also has MST which I had no idea how useful it was because I really never used Samsung pay! And let's not forget the expandable storage even though I doubt I'll use the 256 that it comes with!

Using the S20FE5G now and love it. I beat the hell out of the battery all day and still end with about 10% with 7 hrs SOT. First Android that could last my whole day. I drive a lot for work and use my phone for podcast and youtube in the background. Love the camera too all for a friendly price.

Saw your one-month video and now this. My S7 just died last night (froze then went into an endless boot-loop). Big Red has this for $600 and after much researching and comparison against S21 and S22, this is the phone I want. Mainly, the MicroSD card because I store my music on the SD card. I refuse to stream my music and since Google Music went away, I don't have a way to stream my music except through TH-cam and I can't download any of my purchased music anymore. Luckily, I backed up all my music before they shut down Google music, so this S20 having the MicroSD slot is a big plus.
Overall, the reviews I've seen of this phone, including yours, has sold me to purchase the phone. In fact, one store had it and it was gone within 30 minutes, so I ordered it online from another store in my city so I can pick it up today.
Also, based on the other comments, sounds like this phone is an excellent purchase. I was also looking at the A53 but reading up on it numerous people are stating blue-tooth connection problems, especially in their cars. I use my phone in my car for hands-free driving, as well my car has Android Auto in it, so Google Maps is a nice feature to have when travelling.
No head-phone hack is not a big loss for me as I've been using a nice set of Blue-tooth ear buds, so I'm not too sad about that (when that WAS a big factor 5+ years ago along with the MicroSD card slot).
I guess this smartphone should be honored as the best Samsung's phone in the last 2 or 3 years.For once they've put together all their effort to come up with a fantastic device with no compromises at a reasonable price. In fact this device beats not only other Samsung phones but almost any other Android smartphone including Poco, Pixel and OnePlus. Still can't wrap my head around the fact so many people overlook this beast.

Do you have touchscreen issues, ghost touches or laggy camera (it takes a bit longer to open app and focus image on app launch, also menus are a bit slow if you have that laggy camera isssue).

My review.
I got the 5G blue version for £599 Black Friday from Argos. I also bought the Galaxy Buds Plus, the my brother bought me the official wired AKG wired earphones, and the USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. I also got a clear 360 type case.
Audio quality is great, which ever earphones I am using. The cameras have been most fine. During the snow in my area Bexley/Belvedere, the white balance was slightly blue in some photos, with the wide and ultra wide cameras. Telephoto was fine. Overall photo quality has been good enough for me to go riding, without taking my Lumix compact. It takes good close up (macro) photos, without the use of gimmicky macro cameras in some other midrange phones.
Just before Christmas, the phone received Android 11, One UI 3.0. Before and after the update the phone has been stable, with no issues. The update did mess some of my settings and I had to redo all the Bluetooth pairings with my car, earphones and other devices. I would have preferred 256GB version, because I am using both sims. It has not been problem so far, as I can use a USB-C memory stick to move data to and from the phone. The WiFi and phone reception on both sims are good.
Couple of things not mentioned by Chris is a touchscreen issue that can affect some units. I have not noticed any problems with mine, and like anything, a few will have this problem, but others not. I was aware of this before I bought my phone and pleased it has performed well without issue. The other thing is the wireless DEX. I have a Samsung TV, so DEX works well if I want use the big screen. Battery life is good and it recharges quite fast.
I think this is a great phone for me, and should last for a long while.
I've recently purchased the s21 for two reasons:
(1) small (thin bezels) , light yet flagship specs
(2) samsung eco system
My brother owns the pixel 5 and I seriously have no regrets with this purchase
Having a reasonably small flagship phone is underrated!
Ps: I still rate the s20 fe but those bezels kill it off for me

Just bought the S20 FE 5G direct from Samsung. Traded in my S9+ and first impressions is it’s a real step up from the S9+ Very fast in comparison with great battery life. Not had chance to review the camera properly yet. Always thought the S9+ camera was pretty good but guess the S20 FE will be another step up. Overall very happy 👍🏻

Bought this for me and my wife, love it. Super quick, great battery, wireless charging. Get a usb c to usb c cable and plug to get the quick charge capabilities.

So far the only downside has been the fingerprint sensor. I'm used to it on the back. Practice needed. But otherwise a very good phone, no complaints.

I had an fe and sold it. Every morning it would forget that nova launcher was the default and kept trying to go back to one ui. So every morning I had to manually choose nova. Every morning. Also had random ghost app window images from the multi tasking window stay on the screen even though nothing was open. A reboot was the only fix. Fingerprint sensor was also finicky. All those things combined, made me sell it.
Have you checked in with current users? Maybe an update fixed it?
@@Mubashir_AK Got the shits with it and sold it. I did though email the nova launcher people. They replied with some potential fixes to try (nothing worked) and a statement that it was a known android bug affecting a lot of phones, but especially samsungs.

Holy Crumpets, I used the FE for 9wks, now the S21+. Enjoying the 21+ very much. But I still recommend the FE why? Well, it's cheaper, and it's just as fast with the 865processer? The design is gorgeous especially the cloud red. You can't go wrong for it's price? The display on both are very good, can't go wrong with the FE? OK blok, very good review!

Watching this with a FE 4g, thought saving £100 was worth taking a hit, I gotta say paying the additional £100 for the 5g one is worth it, though the 4g one will get much cheaper relatively quick, It's like the 5g, with 20% less battery and about 15% less CPU power (Please don't game on the 4g the battery will die in less than 2.5 hours if you play let's say COD mobile, even with some mad optimizations like getting rid of half of the system included apps) If you can find the 4g under £450 it's worth buying though.

Heck, for iphone her current 12promax can barely keep up with our kid in the park compared to the XR's much simpler camera (severely cracked screen, but serves well as a cam)

I've had my galaxy S20FE for about a week now and absolutely love it. The only issue I have is that there is no notification light and no way to pick a customize text tone for my contacts which I find to be very annoying.
Hi! You can actually pick a customize text tone for contacts by enabling Bixby routines! Just enable Bixby routines in settings and create a new routine where you pick the contact in the "if" part and set a tone to the "then" part :)

@@covidaint1921 Just got it about 4 hours ago. Other than transferring all my data/accounts/passwords/ etc it works pretty good. One bonus feature is having WiFi calling on it now (I use Cricket Wireless) that wasn't available on the old phone.

@@DVTHEFOX I can't comment on the camera functions yet (I just got the dang thing) but I did the latest software update and Cricket Wireless (I'm here in Minnesota USA) notified me (text message) that WiFi calling was now enabled (not a feature on the S7 Active), which is great since cell service in my lower level townhouse sucks. I haven't been outside yet to see if the phone connects to 5G AT&T towers yet. I really only got the new phone because the screen on my S7 Active was going bonkers (pink and green lines). I'll post an update once I walk around the neighborhood and see what 4G/5G signals I get.

There is no LDAC (or aptX / aptX HD). Thanks, Chris, for yet another entertaining and informative video - I watched it on my S20 FE 5G. Small correction: the phone does not have any HD audio codecs on Bluetooth - just the basic SBC. This is odd and frustrating as the hardware is capable of it (it's software disabled - see “developer options”). In general, I like the phone, but there are few more quibbles: for some reason WiFi defaults to 2GHz band (there's no way to choose preference to 5GHz even in “developer options”). I expected better battery life (after your initial review), but it could be just my model has s slightly daft battery. And yes, tonnes of bloatware (hogging a lot of RAM in addition to Flash).

Got my red FE on preorder, and I've had no regrets. Yes the touch screen issue is legit but if it gets buggy I just restart it and it's okay. I don't regret my choice, it's well worth it for the price. I traded in my S9+ and got this for only 300

I had an older LG for a few years and I just got an iPhone 6s Plus from a friend a few months ago. I’m running into many problems with it since it’s a used phone and I’m looking to buy a new one when I get the money. I’ve never spent more than a hundred on a phone though, so I’m a bit nervous about getting this phone. Also the lack of a headphone jack bothers me too haha
Ah mate, this phone annoys me, because of what it reminds me, I had one bought from Amazon, but it had screen touch issues, returned it, but Amazon is claiming that the box was empty on arrival, so now I have no phone or refund, I reported this theft to the police, be aware of Amazon, if you return any item and if the courier or Amazon staff steal the item, you have no chance of getting your money back, I’ve been back and forward with Amazon for a month and now I’ve been blocked, can’t call or get any reply if I try to get this sorted. Amazon never again...

In fact I love super amoled than dynamic amoled. Dynamic amoled is hugely tinted but super amoled has better white point. I also like big lightweight phones than big heavyweight phones. I have the 20 FE and I decided to buy the S21 Ultra for better cameras but the FE main lens camera actually looks better than the 21 ultra main lens camera. The FE photos have details and clarity on photos than the 21 ultra, especially on humans. I tried them over and over and got the same results so I returned the Ultra. I understand the versatility of the cameras on the ultra but the main camera must be the best one. You use it more than the others.
