    I got the S20FE. I got it before the S21 came out but I could have waited 3 days and just got the S21. However, I take tons of video and pictures so the benefit of the SD card, far outweighs the benefit of the faster chip or better screens. My camera is just fine on the FE so I'm satisfied.

  • @killuazenitsu
    @killuazenitsu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    Great comparison. Very objective. Just a note that the 64meg 'telephoto' on s21 is not necessarily better than the 8meg telephoto on the s20fe. That's because the s21's is only 1.1x optical (compared to main camera) while the s20fe is a real 3x optical. So for the s21, the zoom shots are actually cropped images of the 64meg image and digitally extended to achieve the hybrid zoom. So both handphones end up having roughly equal zoom capabilities.

    The FE has a virtual proximity sensor. It doesn't even have a real one! So it relies on software to keep the phone black during calls. If you're walking with the phone it will turn itself on randomly. A lot of people are having this issue, and tech reviewers, including me, didn't notice it until after reviews, and most didn't notice it at all. One thing that has bothered me is, coming from the Note 9, I am finding the display seems more washed out and colours are not as vibrant and saturated as the Note 9s display. I got an S20 FE simply because despite the S21 Exynos (only version available in my country) being slightly higher on Antutu I simply trust Snapdragon processors way more than Samsung's Exynos processors. It also gives Samsung less ways to tamper with your device's performance and Snapdragon is a lot more stable. The S20 FE screen is also bigger, has better battery life, is thicker/more durable and has expandable storage unlike the S21

  • @LunchBXcrue

    I ended up getting the S20 FE cause of the expandable storage, and I got a really good deal on a 2 year plan. I pay like 15 bucks a month for 24 months on top of my bill which is already cheaper than my old one. So I end up paying like 300 bucks for a way more expensive phone.

    one more thing to add: the (optical) fingerprint sensor on the FE woks even with glass screen protectors,

      @Jookz Da Phenomenal yes. but this won’t always help to make the ultrasonic scanner work more reliable through a glass screen protector.
      I think, it’s just because the ultrasonic waves can’t pass easily through the tempered glass.
      This cannot be changed in the settings.
      For most people this won’t be a deal breaker, since they use the preinstalled, thin plastic protector anyhow.
      But if you want to use a tempered glass one with the s21, be aware the scanner probably won’t work as good anymore.

    I have the S20FE and I want to explain my issue. The large glass piece over the 3 cameras cracked, and can not be repaired anywhere due to availability of the piece of glass. After doing research, it seems like a common issue with many users. I called Samsung's authorized repair and the man on the phone even referred to it as a "design flaw". I am so unlucky that the crack goes down the middle of all of my photos so I am left without a camera. My only option was to send my phone into Samsung for repair, and pay $150, and be without a phone for 2 weeks, so I just want to get rid of it :(

I got mine just a month ago and I have issues on how fast my phone’s battery loses power that I need to charge it at least twice a day. And then there is this heating issue. The one thing that disappoints me is that I couldn’t do continuous Zoom meetings or video calls because a window pops up saying that the video has to shut down due to the overheating of the screen. Your valuable advice would be most appreciated.

      @@victormarian7889 the day that I bought mine my S8+ decided that it didn't want to wireless charge anymore and the charging port had stopped working a long time ago as well so I only had one option and that was to go pick it up in person

    I’m an iPhone user, I have the 12 Pro Max I just want to try an android phone. Was thinking about getting the S20fe just to check out an Android phone just to see if I like it. I found one on BackMarket for $445. If I actually like the FE then I can start thinking about maybe buying a newer model next year. My question is, am I being stupid? Should I just forget this and just keep my iPhone? never tried an android before really want to, but I’m not sure if what I’m doing is very smart.

      Never had an iphone but i "upgraded" from a s10 plus to a s20fe and it felt more like a downgrade, screen has problems that havent been fixed yet...I wouldn't recommend a FE to tryout android.

      @@mirage7526 Thank you!! I really appreciate your advice , I have been looking for the past few days at so many videos on so many models. I think I’m going to try the Galaxy Note 10, the standard not the plus. The plus is pretty pricey even refurbished, I found a note 10 for $370. What do you think? Would that be a good phone just to kind of introduce me to android?
