This is the best winter-themed dungeon synth I've ever heard. It seems to me that unlike the rest, this tries to emulate the atmosphere of blizzard, while the rest only does the calm snowy winter. I hope I'll find something like this again, because I just love listening to this in those few snowy days that we have where I live.
It is quite interesting. Because Elffor was one of my favourite Black Metal acts that I truly liked in my teen years. Back in 2007 there was no term "dungeon synth" and now 15 years later, I still love black metal, I got to know dungeon synth and Elffor is delivering on both ends. Amazing!!
Same I am pushing 40, Dungeon Synth was not a thing, I had not realized shit I was recording as a teen would form a genre. No Euro style metal influenced music was popular here, just lame ozzfest bands, we had only zines and special ordering albums from Europe. Shit is not the same, whether it is good or bad now dunno, just different. Some of comments here depress me, people with very bad taste passing judgement on Elffor, like what the heck.
@@vindsvalrpdx nice, did you release some stuff as well? Yeah the open internet is a curse and blessing at the same time. I am just very grateful that you can find so many releases here which would be forgotten otherwise.
@@ancientcall7737 Yeah, some in the past, some recently. I am working on a full debut release. Have a few projects in mind. Yes though, the internet was so different a few decades ago, now you can't really tell who is a fan of metal subgenres, or just part of the newest trends. I guess now there are subgenres that did not exist when I first started recording music. This is all very weird, youtube culture. I am more minimalism, and aetherial combined. I was really influenced by such a plethora of bands from Blut Aus Nord, to Cocteau Twins, both different completely, yet similar in a aetherial sense.
Glad to see the sound that made me fall in love with dungeon synth still lives. While I'm glad of the genre's renaissance, I feared that the old grimy Mortiis/Gothmog/Lamentation sound had faded away in favour of a lighter, more accessible fantasy synth sound I never vibed with.
Mmm, i see this album uploaded anywhere but into dung synth, i do wonder if there will be Black Metal elements or not, but will listen the chain man with anyway, hail Elffor
Sorry but this is so funny... the album title, the cover, the music... the whole package 😁 The album cover reminds me on a screenshot of a 20 year old computer game 😁
This whole package pulls more punch than any Motley Crue song, just looking at it all wrong I guess. You know what is funny, people calling rappers musicians, this guy is conceptual composer of ambient epic atmospheric black metal, and sometimes dungeon synth, not funny at all, dead serious.
@@hansmeiser4314 I was kind of joking anyway. I love it all, all subgenres of metal, but the one-man synth sound is my jam for sure, you can get the same amount of raw energy from this instrumental setup as well, it is all perception. I think the 20-year-old computer game might be some of what interests me, maybe others too. In a current world where most of the newer music sucks, it is refreshing to see some musicians that started before the turn of the century, still writing music. Elffor in particular has some raw stuff too, Eol does several different sounding albums involved with his project. A bit of everything for every type of metal fan. My favorite album for sure is Son Of The Shades.

i like to imagine the dragon on top of the castle is sticking their tongue out to catch the snowflakes :)
Amazing. Now I can't unsee it. :D
Like Dicaprio huh ?
ITS tongue out.
@@Jason-eo1rh each dragon actually has two brains in the same body
2 brains in one body?
You do realize that dragons aren't real, right?
78 years old and i like this a lot
Great music to escape from this sick world for a while.
Black metal 'feeling' and spirit. Dark atmosphere here.
Like Summoning without guitars
The dungeon never dies!
Too much hp.
@@The_Custos Heavy armour and HP regeneration, as well.
It was a dire winter for the monks. Not only did the castle roof collapse under a heavy snow load, but now they've got a dragon infestation too.
hopefully, the dragon is thoughtful enough to use the countryside somewhere and not perch above the ruined roof and make messes. 😂
man, they are gunna have to hit the local tavern if they can't keep that ruckus down, approach some total strangers who just met and offer some coin.
they are necromancers
Im a simple warrior . I see a new Elfor release , i raid this Dungeon. And this Dungeon is exquisite !
I wish we had an AI to make Legend of Grimrock 2 levels based on Dungeon Synth music.
Got strong vibes of TO Let us cling together with the first one ! Very good
Eol is amazing, so much albums in short time
Thanks you for showing me the wonderful world of Dungeon Synth.
Ordered the CD, like a true digital dissenter
ALL HAIL ELFFOR!
well... not every Elffor release is a Masterpiece, indeed - but his every other Dungeon one is for sure👍goblets high for the Dungeon Master🤘🤘
I take it you don't like "Son Of The Shades", my favorite from him?
Galloping horses and thunder right off the rip🎉
One of the best I have heard in a while, Elffor has created something legendary with this album.
With the Arkaik trilogy too
Elffor = Legend.
Really nice! Reminds me a lot of the old Dargaard which i still very much like till this day.
Elffor, you got yourself a new fan! 🤟
real nice thank you I will use it for DND!
Magnificent. Elffor never fails.
Another masterpiece by Eöl
His late BM albums have turned really random but his DS albums are way more solids. Strange.
i dont know what you are talking about, KAOSAREN MENDI ODOLTSUETAN,WHERE THE DAMNED DWELLS AND THE BLACK SENTINEL A are amazing records
This burns like a fire....as you see the opening title screen for the Elder Scrolls - Oblivion!
This artist is awesome! Thanks for the upload 🖤
They never disappointing me ever .
Masterpiece!!!⚔💀🍻
Great album. Some fantastic atmosphere
perfect music for the Darkest Dungeon
This is so gorgeous
Oh I am enjoying this one quite a bit.

Fantastic album.
❤
Exceptional and well crafted.
this is basically Summoning without guitars, (not a bad thing mind you) Elffor always makes great stuff.
This album is truly amazing. Elffor has released some great d.s. but this to me surpasses and is the crowning masterpiece. 👑
Agree with you
Great Elffor, Blinked his eyes, released a new album!
We are not worthy of so many excellent new releases by Elffor!
Maravilhoso. Uma herança que levo pra vida. Elfor, tu és incrível.
He is my favorite
Buenísimas melodías y ambiente. ¿Qué más se puede pedir al género?
Wonderful epic sound!
Wow this is the good stuff
This brings me back to the 80s!
26:20 will never not be my favorite part. sounds magical
Great stuff
awesome
OH SHIT NEW ELFFOR!!
why its not on spotify ?
Cool

Very cool. Conjures up images of Warhammer Fantasy for me.
Elffor is genius 🤘.
Ruins of the damned is damn good!
Watch out for the hellish reindeer that appear mid-storm. They have different spawning rules.
Great... can i use this for my audio books Produktion?
this one is great. most of Elffor is, but the one before this was not quite as great. But this one is victory.
I went to check for the country of the artist and I was pleasantly surprised to see that he is from Spain like me. Great album.
E. ❤

Terrible production , we are not in the freakin 80's , there is just no reason why an album must sound like that .....
WTF go listen to skrillex then
Let me guess, you love rap?
