Oh man! Safe to say I was NOT expecting this! I just saw the video in my recommended and knew I had to record my reaction, should be up in a while. That's gotta be the most legendary drum cover I've ever seen on here man just how clean those verses were and the consistency most importantly! Especially since it's a relentless song that has you play insane speeds for such a long time just to play a really long double kick section. Thanks so much man, this was super cool to see especially since (obviously for good reason) no one had done this cover before on drums! You're the man, man!
Tim yeung was pretty fast too but Pete was in the band the longest he created the one foot blast beat and was accurate too and you can taste that Salvadoran feel in his playing
Super impressive cover. Both the intro beats and the double bass footwork during the verses in this song are freaking tough as hell to play. You crushed this man 🤘
It’s my favorite album by Morbid Angel and definitely there most technical Guitar/Drum wise. This was a great song for this gentleman to cover which he did great at. I got into Death Metal after hearing the album Covenant back in 1994 which blew my mind as a teenager back then. I had never heard anything so fast and brutal. I miss those days of going to the CD/Cassette Tape stores rummaging through the metal section discovering new bands like Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, Atheist, At The Gates, Carcass, Napalm Death, Vader, Dying Fetus, Gorguts, Nile, Pig Destroyer, etc. etc. Great memories. Now there are bands that are doing even more technical brutal music than what Morbid Angel did like Beneath The Massacre Archspire Ophidian I First Fragment Origin The list goes on. I love being able to witness the evolution of Death Metal which is Tech Death Metal. I’m a drummer/guitarist and have been playing both for 28 years. Those bands I listed are very VERY hard to cover compared to Morbid Angel. Here is an example: th-cam.com/video/eDAZztJQyck/w-d-xo.html
Formulas Fatal to the Flesh is my favorite Morbid Angel album and by far there most technical Guitar and Drum wise. Love the vocals on this album as well.
Absolutely brilliant, as always! If you don't mind another request, I would love to see you play another one from Mithras, Thrown Upon The Waves. In fact, I think I would have a heart attack seeing you play that one. It's my favorite song ever.
I'm really enjoying and appreciating your uploads. Great to see some of these older songs being covered when original footage (live and studio) either doesn't exist or is of poor quality. Looking foward to more!
I was like wait the drum setup is very similar to the recent Mithras live uploads, only to find out you are that drummer! Great cover, really hope I get to see you and the rest of the Mithras guys live one day.
Got have the chops, but you are over thinking it.. you completely missunderstood the fills on this one.. relax and dive into the feel of the song... Pete is a very musical drummer..

@@benwhitedrums Well, of course. Stuff like this only really makes me more interested in what comes next.
Can't wait for Chamber of Dat
Extreme music for extreme people.
Ambidextrous blasting in action. That has to be quite the energy saver at times.
Because of how fast he can play and the way he does it with style
🤘❤️🤘

Cheers for the feedback James. Very much appreciated. It's taken some training I tell ya. Pete is an absolute beast 💪 Great stuff 🤘
Badass brother! Classic Formulas song!
Fucking nice! Formulas is an absolute beast of an album, the complexity of the songs even to this day is far beyond what other bands deliver.

Dude bro!!! You killed it again! One of their best albums with such tight musicianship! Great, great job man!!🤘🖤🥁👊
@Ben White can't tell man!! Lol. Like fine wines, better with age. The other saying is true too: youth is wasted on the young. 👊🥁
Can I love this? I only heard one error out of probably 20,000 notes.
There's always room for love ❤️ 😊
Hell yeah!
Even your struggles are better than most metal drummers B.
@@benwhitedrums Immortalised 😉.
That was insane dude! Hats off to you.
Amazing man ! please plays "Maze Of Torment"
🤘🤘🤘🤘
This is really great up to when you cheat on the blast beats. Pete would never duck walk.
The other beats were really nice.
really tight! insane song to play well done man. do you have any mithras songs planned for youtube?
Hi Ben, at the beginning, you've played triples? Sounds like this to me :) Hi five from Frankfurt. Luke ✌🤘
Dammit, I need a drummer

You know it's real cause you can hear him getting tired. Still ridiculously amazing but human
Absolutely. This was a tough one
Cheers for the feedback 🤘
Absolutely amazing, new subscriber here, I hope you can try some Behemoth next time.
I think something super hard would be the band 1349 the song the devil of the desert
Awesome. Will have a look into that 🤘
This is awesome. I was wondering if you could please do me a huge favor and play Morbid Angel god of emptiness
@@benwhitedrums sounds good to me
