Dime was far more melodic a soloist than Trey ever was. Trey is more like Kerry King with more technical skill.

I just watched a few MA shows with Tim Yeung on drums. He's very good, of course, but then I hear Pete 'The Machine' Sandoval. That sound is what made this band great in the rhythm section.
Like Dave Lombardo in Slayer. Their replacements may be more on the mark qua precision - but they just can't beat that frantic, urgent, classic, ear-splitting, pounding style these drummers have. Like a hurricane or chased by a horde of demons.

I don't know about MA, don't think anyone can replace Pete, but Dette was perfect replacement for Lombardo. I don't know why they went with Bostaph.
You can't get any more true and authentic than Pete's drumming here. It is complete brutality controlled by the God commando himself.
You can totally hear the difference in their performance. Even with "Nikki Dave" having an identity crisis, they sound amazing!!!

It would be so cool if Rutan was in both Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal... he is probably the most underrated lead player in Death Metal, he doesn't shred but plays very soulful and emotional solos.

Chucks vocals on Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance were amazing although the albums themselves were rather boring compared to previous Death work. But I agree, Dave has killer vocals.

피트산도발 항상 느끼는 거지만 개쩐다..ㅋㅋㅋ 갠적으로 데이브롬바르도나 찰리베난테, 스티브 에시엠 같은 괴물 드러머들 중에서도 가장 좋아하는 드러머다.
모비드 엔젤의 곡들은 Altars Of Madness 앨범 수록곡들만 좀 좋아하고 나머지는 그렇게 즐겨듣는 편은 아니지만 이곡 Maze Of Torment의 피트의 블라스팅 드러밍은 정말 언제 들어도 감탄이다.
영상 보면 알겠지만 밴드 합이 아주 작살이다ㅋㅋㅋ 보통 연습하고 합주해서는 절대 불가능한 클라스의 합임. 도중에 데이비드가 곡 끊고 "피트 잠깐만 멈춰봐"ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
이 미친 곡에서 이런 여유를 부리다니 ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ 대단하다... 트레이 아작소스도 대단하지만 에릭루탄 곡 후반부 솔로파트 멜로디도 소름작살임. 여튼 대단한 밴드고 익스트림 밴드 계열에서는 갠적으로 원탑 자리를 주고 싶다.
근데 피트산도발 소돔 메라스 입고 있네 가지고싶다 ㅋㅋ

He would even admit that, Trey's playing is more about chaos, like Jeff Hanneman's playing.

+6672rock Morbid Angel are inspired by HP Lovecraft. Read or listen to the audio book "The music of Erich Zann". It will change your outlook on Trey's guitar style. He is in my mind without a doubt the greatest death metal guitarist.

@DieByMyHand1 On big festivals, especially 3-day+ ones there is a higher "fatigue" factor than on plain concerts, which is further increased by the fact that there are more than 2 or 3 bands that one would smash one's face to. Also, crowd reaction in more famous countries can be dull just because they see tons and tons of good bands all the time and they are "spoiled".

I notice Trey Azagthoth always plays really cheap entry level guitars that only cost a few hundred bucks. I wonder what he spends all his money on cause it sure as hell ain't gear. My guitar collection is way nicer than his by a log shot. Maybe he smokes a lot of meth. Would also explain how he is so good at coming up with such intensely menacing riffs. That's how Dave Mustaine wrote Peace Sells. He was high af on speed. But Megadeth always played really nice custom shop USA guitars. Trey Azagthoth looks like he buys his shit at shitty local pawn shops in the hood. Erik Rutan plays nice guitars, though. The one he's got in this video is a custom shop USA Ironbird. Those are worth like $3000-4000 in todays used market. Trey's MIJ WRXT is worth like $300-400. He's like the Kenny McCormick of Morbid Angel. Poor af lmao!

I remember that Tom Araya uses to skip lyrics from songs from Hell Awaits back in the 90's. It seems some old school songs are too tough to keep up with. Slayer never playedsongs from that album live again.

if you truly owned several morbid angel albums, you should already be able to tell the huge differences between each song, if youre familiar with death metal you can see tons of difference between the fast and slow parts of songs

I disagree. Morbid Angel should keep writing and recording new material until the very end. They're not a 'greatest hits' band. They're so much better than that.
My problem with Tucker is that he has that same monotone death-growl on every single tune. Dave had some vocal range, at least. I'd choose Vincent over Tucker on any given day.
