Those tips work for people who want to be on the other side of the camera as well whether it's sound, lighting, cinematography, whatever. Work as much as you can and practice your craft constantly.
I try to imagine a setting, mood etc., or take one from the pros that I really admire, and try to achieve it . Lighting's pretty difficult to do well, so it requires lots of practice under every conceivable situation to become good at it. The other thing while a bit passé is choreographing shots for longer takes, but are interesting visually. You used to see it a lot in older films, before the 'cut every 2 seconds' rule, and actors really seem to like it.
Nelson Smith Trying to get better at lighting is something we can relate to. So far we've shot the majority of our interviews with natural lighting, but we are in the hunt for a lighting package. Lighting will be something we continue to work on. Do you have any favorite resources you like for learning lighting / cinematography?
So true ! This is how I'm starting out : student films to have stuff for a reel and get contacts ^^ Hope it'll all work out someday :3
I wish you the best

Great point. Which side of the camera do you prefer to work on?
I love being behind the camera.
