After doing the math on the proposed claws, their max hit will be a 67 in max gear where the dragon claws with full max gear can hit a max of 89. The proposed claws also will have the 10 additional burn damage over 6 seconds that might even stack with the eclipse moon set since they both say they burn targets. It'll be an interesting weapon in pvp especially if they combo.

@kingcondor so here's a shower thought. What if the burning claws are created by evolving dragon claws with a misc attachment. It makes sense given the potential the burning claws have. Not to mention the rarity dragon claws have in cox already

I'm most excited for the staff and bow tbh, but the sword and claws will be really nice too. (Just kind of got sick of seeing a constant sword in my hands 24/7 when fighting demons, so this will make fighting them less boring.)

Using Arclight against Demonic Gorillas, I never realized just how bad the base stats were. Firelight is going to be incredible.
arclight is already great but this is a step forward, its like 25% better.
Makes more sense if their weapons do bonus dmg to holy monsters like zilyana; and if we want demon bane weapons then they should have a holy aesthetic and drop from things like zilyana or hollowed sepulcher.
It would be an easy way to make saradomins light a useful item

I agree with this, though I also think this should apply to vampyre-bane weapons. Perhaps the flail could have a cosmetic upgrade (the hallowed gem) from either the hallowed sepulchre or the Theatre of Blood that will change the gems colors to a very bright white, the sickle and rod to blue, and the chain to gold.
The quest was introduced many years ago, to introduce the tormented demons, with thier d claws drops

no, with amethyst arrows it will be as strong as bowfa without crystal armour on regular enemies/players. but 30% stronger vs demons.
@@scorpmk bowfa has 106 range str. dragon arrows has 60, amethyst 55, and the proposed bow has 40, so it will be comparable to the bowfa with the but bowfa will be stronger on nondemons.

As an iron I have never even used Arclight lol charging it seems impossible to use for any extended period. So this new melee weapon will be a nice change

They’re making it so all three combat styles don’t have dramatic damage boosts from 1st and 2nd bis items. Not just for range. All three styles have insane lumps in progress to get to endgame gear
bowfa still better on non demons but the new bow with dragon arrows will still be close in damage and accuracy.

It doesn't really make sense though. He's always been a god of chaos, power and destruction. Why do you think he fought the other gods (including Bandos) during the God Wars? Why else would he have betrayed Zaros and taken his place in godhood? He did all of this for himself; all he cared about was taking everything Zaros had out of jealousy towards him. Saradomin and Zaros both had places built in Hallowvale (now called Morytania), with Zaros getting only the northwest of it, Kharyll (which is now called Canifis). They did not want to war with each other for land, but then when Zamorak called it upon himself to rise to power, that is when all gods were forced into war (except for Bandos, who would've fought no matter what). This is why Zamorak in my opinion, is the worst god ever, and should not have had what he wanted. (Look at this however you want, but I don't think a power-hungry demon of Mah should be considered a god.)

If you mean the Dawnbringer in ToB in Verzik Vitur's Room, that thing is actually WAY too busted to leave the raid. A staff that never misses? I mean come on now, that would break the state of the game, and would make it possible to go full tank mode with mage (by which I mean wearing full justiciar). This would make it impossible to kill them unless using magic, but guess what? They're also using magic, and their attacks don't miss no matter what defensive armor YOU have on.
So something I noticed with the claws is that since it's using 30% spec rather than the standard 50% is that you can combo this with a variety of more special attacks (ones that come to mind are Dark Bow + Heavy Ballista). I honestly really like them but for them to retain a niche it needs to be 30-45% spec. If it ends up being 50% like every other spec then I doubt it'll be worthwhile to even bother with them.

I like that staff, cause since the release of the Arceuus demonbane spells there was never really a reason to ever use them. Much more costly than just using Arclight and did not really have any place to be more useful at.
I hope that at least changes with this update.
I think I will be voting no to the claws. D-Claws should just be moved to Tormented Demons instead of giving Tormented Demons a new pair.
We don't need more weapons with every update, we just got 3 full combat sets.

Making demonbane weapons op af against demon monsters definitely is the way to go. It's so shit collecting shards or killing the worst boss in the game ever to keep the arclight running. Also burning claws looks interesting. Seems like dclaws in stab mode. Definitely will have its niche in places where stab is the play.
I wouldn't say the worst, but rather the slowest. Skotizo gives pretty good loot if you have the totems to fight him, and if you're lucky enough, you'll get either his pet or the dark claws (which can be used to recolor your slayer helmet). Though it does take tons of time and patience in order to get these dark totem pieces, which kind of irritates me, even as someone who is patient most of the time.

To be fair, they never added demonbane ranged or magic weapons before. Plus, they're untradable, and demons are kind of tough to kill (especially K'ril, abyssal and black demons), so I think this is for the best. (By the way, there are no ranged or magic variants of vampyre weapons either, which I think also needs to happen with the next quest in the Myreque Storyline).

Side note for this quest: It won't be as challenging anymore due to the gear we have now, back then the best was bandos, whip, the real OG stuff.
So just do bare that in mind. It's still a really good quest, but the challenge did add to it back then, sort of how Desert Treasure 2 is now.
They will obviously change mechanics to make the more relevant to how we play today

I personally dont think the burning claws are that needed, we have so many melee weapons for special attacks already. range and especially magic users could do with a spec weapon that isnt 300m or a several hundred hour grind imo

Same shit with the zombie axe, why the fuck isn't that 82 like the fang is? It should also be tougher to obtain than normal and have its own special attack rather than just having very identical stats to the fang.

idk i've been hoping they'd introduce the tumekan's heka (rename it) as the tormented demon drop rather than the claws. it'd be cool to bridge the gap between shadow and sang, and with the god alignment stuff, if they still do it, it should be based off that instead of spellbook

@@Liam-ci8bx Bowfa only outperforms tbow in very specific instances. Bowfa outperforms tbow at bandos, phase 1 sire and some rooms at chambers. However it comes close to tbow at many locations.
@@nichopulli7142 Uhm, perhaps you're underestimating the Bowfa. Bowfa is good for overall damage when worn with crystal armor. Twisted bow is only good in VERY specific areas where magic defense / level penetration is KEY to defeating the bosses / enemies you're fighting. A few examples are TzKal-Zuk, TzTok-Jad, Commander Zilyana, demonic gorillas, and the Ice Demon in Chambers of Xeric. So yeah, I just wanna say that you're absolutely wrong, and that twisted bow sucks against anything that has absolutely no magic level or defense whatsoever (below 100).

The primary reasons rs3 is hated by the os community is wow-styled combat and microtransactions, neither of which are being added or likely will be added due to the effect it would have on the games population.

jagex keep creating items that make old content more and more useless to do , so why u make new items ? demonbane for what ? demon drop useless items now XD they could just create an item to upgrade actual weapon droppped by actual demons.. like something to enhance exemple the abyssal bludgeon to make it stronger overall and not just against demon , jagex going in the wrong way.. or like we can break a bludgeon to enhance something else etc..

Whether you like it or not, people are gonna agree that these demonbane weapons are a necessity. There has NEVER been a demonbane weapon for ranged, and there has only ever been demonbane spells for magic, which aren't worth anyone's while to use because of the expensive cost. Many players have opted to using Arclight instead, but even the fang outperforms it at K'ril and certain other scenarios where a demonbane weapon should be most beneficial.

@@externalboss9404 Exactly, that's why Jagex is working on it right now and trying to make it an overpowered weapon at demons of any kind. I kind of wish they'd done this with the holy water, that way it would actually be a good secondary weapon to those who can't get the bow. Regardless, I'm excited for not just the project rebalance and the Hueycoatl, but the new quest as well.
