    Hope you enjoy.

In the video I make the statement that I could find no books on this suspect. It's been brought to my attention that Richard Patterson has published a book- Jack the Ripper- Francis Thompson. www.amazon.com.au/Jack-Ripper-Works-Francis-Thompson/dp/1786934493 ( Amazon is one place you can get it )

Awesome video as per usual. This comes back to I think the Mary Jane Kelly murder is a different person. Her murder has all the hallmarks of a crime of passion. It is personal. The other murders seem more systematic and impersonal.
I really do think this is an excellent video series 😀

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm glad you like the videos.
Mary Kelly is still a sticking point for me. If you take her demise out, it's easier to make the case for other people. But when included, it points to other people. 😳
      Thanks again for watching. 👍🙂

Nice, you have a book on him. I hadn't found anyone who had done an in depth look at him.
I think I found your book. I've pinned a comment to this video. Let me know if that is your book.
My videos are designed as an overview.
      Thanks for watching. 👍🙂

Actually there is a book about Thompson as a suspect, called Francis Thompson: A Ripper Suspect, by Richard Patterson. Usually, famous people are ridiculous suspects, put forward by writers probably because it makes a good story and is a good way to sell a book. While Thompson isn't my top suspect, he's one of the few famous people, if not the only one, who can be put forward as a non-ridiculous suspect. He lived in the area, was the right age, was taken in by the Meynells just after the Kelly murder, which might explain why the murders stopped, had the anatomical skills needed, and seemed oddly interested in continuing his training dissecting corpses as long as possible. I've seen it argued that he was too skinny and weak to be able to easily and repeatedly overpower the victims. I don't know if I buy that or not. I'm not very interested in motive for these crimes, because I think the killer just enjoyed what a knife could do to a woman, and there's no telling who might have that motive. He was helped by a prostitute, whom he described as his savior, which one would think might temper his strong feelings against them.

I agree that famous people are put up to sell books. Francis wasn't famous at the time of the crimes, so I agree out of all that category he's the leading candidate.
I'll to check out that book.

Frank is not high on the list because he falls into the same category as almost every other suspect. Good video as always Owen!

Thanks. I feel he is a better candidate than many on this list. But yes, there are questions as well.

@@OwenNeidhart I think most of these suspects are suspects because of the possibility of guilt. Where it should be probability or better yet, likelihood that makes up the case.
Another major issue is only taking the 5 into any consideration. We know there were murders before and after the autumn of ‘88. Some, even years prior!
Many serial killers have undiscovered victims. So taking these victims into consideration makes sense. Especially when comparing the damage done and the commonalities of these women.
And that leads to a 3rd issue. Sure it’s ok to have a different theory, opinion, suspect…and it’s accepted. I disagree. When it doesn’t make any logical sense compared to what we know about serial killers now, it should be called nonsense outright or at least put in a low probability category.

OMG, he checks way too many boxes. And, from what I understand, he was addicted to laudenum. This, imo, played a major role *IF* this guy is THE guy. I don't think any of these murders occur w/o laudenum involved. Hey, TY for this vid. It's wonderful. *I believe the experimental surgical method was known as the Virchow method. Author Richard Patterson has written a book on this guy. He's on youtube as well.

Apparently hardly any of his works remain as the family caring for him who I believe acted as publisher burned most of his writings! Does leave a begging question there!!

Yes, I have a solid belief what I think. It's funny how this series is like writing a book. I drop a few clues here and there, so hopefully, when I get to the final video it all makes sense.

He was never a suspect and lived for another 19 years after Mary Kelly I'll stick with Jacob Levy

I find it surprising he wasn't on the radar. He wasn't famous at the time of the murders.
There are lots of people to choose from.
