  • ❤️ How to make fresh Vietnamese Vermicelli Rice Noodles (Bún Tươi) w/out Xanthan Gum using Philips Pasta Maker? This fresh rice vermicelli is good for both dry and soupy noodle dishes. The opaque white noodles have amazing texture of soft, springy (jiggly) and al dente. All I can say is that my family prefers these fresh Bún hundred times over the dry store bought ones.
    Today, I am sharing a recipe that I learned from Gabrielle Sen Vu who is the founder of a FB Group called Homemade Asian Noodles & Pasta Using Philips Pasta Maker. FYI, this is her rice vermicelli recipe number 5.
    YIELD: 770 grams fresh vermicelli rice noodles
    INGREDIENTS:
    400 grams Rice Starch (1 bag)
    100 grams Tapio Starch
    100 grams Potato Starch
    1 tsp sea salt
    5 gram lime juice (1 tsp)

      Regarding our family picture... That picture was taken 3 years ago when our family of 4 came back to VN for a week charity function in Hoi An. After that, we traveled Asia for another 4 weeks. That was one of most memories trip for our family.

    I love your video and detailed instructions. I will try to make it and let you know how it turns out. I don't use food made in China or Vietnam, and that's the reason I make rice stick noodle at home versus buying made in China noodles sold at the market. Is there another brand of rice starch? Thanks.

    • @SoSimYum
      @SoSimYum  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am glad you love my video my dear 🥰. Let's me share with you the reason I started making Asian noodles at home! Our two kids love Japanese ramen and Korean noodles. I used to buy those fresh ramen/noodles from the store until we took a trip to Viet Nam 2 years ago. We spent 5 weeks traveling around Asia (Vietnam, Thailand, and Korea). When we got back, I was going to throw all the food in our fridge away and noticed those store bought ramen/noodles were still looking mighty fresh/good 🤦🏻‍♀️. That was when I decided to make fresh noodles at home because I realized how much preservatives have been put into those fresh store bought noodles.
      I haven't seen any other brand for rice starch. Please let me know if you can find other brand, thanks in advance!

    Can I use the philips spaghetti disk? Also just potato starch?

    • @SoSimYum
      @SoSimYum  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can use spagetti disk but the noodles will be bigger and they will need to be boiled longer. I haven't tried making rice vermicelli using only potato starch so I don't know how the texture will be. You can give it a try and let me know.
