This is such a easy lifestyle. It’s important to food prep. I cook and prep food twice a week. I wash and chop veggies for salads and I make sauces dressings and soup/ stews etc. I always have something ready to eat at home or veggies or dressings to take with me. My friends know I bring my own food wherever I go. If we go to a restaurant I bring my own dressing for my salad or sometimes a potato or beans to add in my salad and a bean or sweet potato brownie so I’m not tempted . Food prep is key. and REAL food is DELICIOUS. 😊❤
There’s actually a lot to learn. If we were learning these things, and they were being reinforced, everyone would find it a lot easier to maintain a healthy wt, and to eat well.
So glad you emphasized organic blueberries. My sister who lives in Oregon, lives a couple fields away from blueberry 🫐 fields. She said before they go to market, they have already sprayed them 3 times! 😳
These foods might generate a little bit of a glp-1 effect, but not enough that helped me lose weight. I am now on a Glp-1 med and finally seeing results! Plant based made me feel bloated and full but still starving at the same time. I could not get satiated, and it was horrible.
Currently many people are obese and suffering from autoimmune diseases because of the processed foods and pesticides added to today's foods. I'm so glad I created a system and meal plan to stay healthy and fit.
Been trying to lose weight now for 19 years and still cannot get down to target weight. It's depressing to think I might never lose the weight. Eat clean, don't drink, cut down on portion sizes, etc. Only works for so long and then it stabilizes.
Sadly you left alcohol off your list of foods to avoid. Many people have incorporated the mellowing out that alcohol brings them at the end of the day. At least as bad as the Twizzlers in your vegan vs. mediterranean study. I managed the get the most overweight I have ever been on processed, fatty, hyperpalatable vegan food. I’m now back on track. I loved to hear that it is fat in muscle tissue that slows our metabolism down. Thanks for this inspiring talk! I have been eating healthy now for about a month and although I’m still slightly obese my blood pressure is down from 130-140/80-85 (I’m sure it would have been even higher, had I been eating non-vegan junk food like cheese and desserts made with cream etc.) to 119-110/76-65.
This was just brilliant information as I’ve been trying for years now to be WFPB but I’m swimming against the tide with my family My diet has changed a lot and my health has really improved so this has given me more incentive Thanks 🙏
I appreciate all the research here. Obviously, many will completely disregard it because it conflicts with their preferences. 🤷♀️ I have done it all and WFPB is what has worked for me.
Great info. Has anyone tired a good omega 3 vegan supplement, and if so what brand? I’m wanting to increase my omega 3 without using fish oil. I do use chia seeds, flaxseed and hemp, but I want a supplement. Keep the videos coming ❤️Christy
One of the most important things for increasing your omega-3 is making sure that you don’t have too much omega six in your diet. The omega six hijacks the pathway that allows your cellular membranes to incorporate omega-3. So it’s not so much about getting enough omega-3 it’s about not getting too much omega six fats. a Food plant-based diet you aren’t eating overt oils. That goes along way towards ensuring you’re not overdoing omega six fats. Flaxseed, Chia seed and walnuts are favorable. You really don’t need to focus too much on omega-3 if you’re eating cool food plant based. Because like I said, you’re not going to be overdoing omega six. North America go wrong is they are eating lots of processed foods with junkie omega six.
My nephew was a vegan for 2 years and became emaciated. I saw him a year after and his muscle tone returned. He add small amounts of animal protien back into his diet.
It’s a complete fallacy that you need animal protein to build muscle. Take a look at Thomas Tadlock. Dr Brooke Goldner‘s husband he’s a vegan bodybuilder. take a look at Dr. Brooke herself, she is toned and slim. There are plenty of vegan bodybuilders.
I’m watching this program right now and first of all I have to say that I absolutely love Dr Barnard so much. I learn more about my body from him and his easy to understand approach to teaching. So THANK YOU! I just ordered this book and can’t wait for it to get here! Everyone has wonderful things to say about it and they all love the recipes!
i eat strict perfect vegan organic food , small meals, but gained 13 kilos due to abuse control & harassment. etc. am struggling a lot. is a grip or syndicate on me. loss of soul .i feel this is unfair.
May God give you new hope. I have some experience as well. He will give you what you need, on every level, life is not finished, there is hope for you. Did you get out of the stressful situation yet? Praying for you. You did not loose your soul, but it may seem like it. Psalm 105 verses 17-22 for you....
Want BMI thrown out as a form of measurement? Aren't we supposed to look at body fat percentage? How about muscle? I notice vegan gurus don't have any.
@ Lots of meat eaters don’t eat cheese either, or eggs, or spinach or whatever. The point was that the word vegetarian has always meant someone who doesn’t eat meat, and vegan has meant someone who doesn’t eat any animal products at all.
What happened to Dr McDougall? He was looking sick for quite a while and died recently. Not a good role model for what he was promoting. A few of these docs look ill. Hopefully he didn’t succumb to the ‘safe and effective.’
Dr. McDougal had a stroke at 18 and had residual side effects the rest of his life. He knew he wasn't going to live a long time. He was an excellent role model for everyone wanting to eat healthy.
There is nothing about carcasses of fellow animals, mother cow/goat lactation breast milk for her calf turned ultra processed dairy products, and period eggs of female birds that promote human health. It would be wise to eat the source of all essential nutrients from an array of plants and fungi directly.

Try a carnivore diet. Or at least a keto diet.

That's how it works. Makes you sick so u don't eat. Ridiculous drug.
What about MADAGASCAR cinnamon?? Thank you!
Blueberries aren’t going to fill you up. You have to eat starch-lots of potatoes and beans.
I just discovered Violife vegan butter and smoked provolone cheese. They taste fantastic!
Cheese?

Is eating berries worth it when they are so full of pesticides?
You can buy organic berries, you can usually find them in the frozen foods section of grocery stores.
Wyman's frozen wild blueberries don't have to be organic...they are GREAT!
