30.11.1983. i was 16! My parents gave me a Ticket for the Iron Maiden Gig in Munich! The opening Act was a Band called MSG! I Never heard about this „funny“ band name. I though they only could be boring. MSG opened with into the Arena. The Rest is history. A few days after MSG i bought my first guitar. Michael is my Hero since this day!
One of the best ever! Glad to see him playing the classic Gibson Flying V again! You know it's Michael when you hear the signature sound coming out of it.

@@johnnydio5803 Appears to be a stock reissue along with the '79 Kirk Hammet... the 70's reissue however has the longer '67 V headstock when it should have the shorter '75-'80 Flying V headstock. Don't know why Gibson would have done this... perhaps to distinguish actual 70's Flying V's with these reissues who knows. Never liked seeing Michael playing a Dean.
Schenker's still at the top of his game even all these years later! That tone is immediately recognizable and his fingers are as accurate as they've ever been. Thank you for this post!

I never thought I would see the master with a Gibson again. I am very happy. Wonderful. Like a trip back to the 80s. Thanks Geoff for this great video with the great sound!!!

Doctor doctor is still one of my all time favouritesrock classics from an absolutely golden era of guitar music....this song still sounds as great as it did the first time that I heard it..... magical.

I never followed the MSG but when I was a kid I pick up the "New" McAuley Schenker Group CD. It was freaking AMAZING. Perfect timing was the name of the CD. 🔥

Happy holidays! Thanks!! I used to be a professional photographer , so a lot of this I’m used to doing …. I’m also a guitarist so I knew I needed to get on Michael’s side of the stage. In the first 3 songs I had real problems with 2 pro-togs constantly dodging & ducking right in front of me so I did my best to screen them out by zooming in closer lol. For me I haven’t properly enjoyed a gig if I don’t have videos that I can look back on and watch again and again!
I remember seeing MSG decades ago more than once at Newcastle City Hall. The keyboard player spat at the bass player and rumour had it a guitar player was behind the backdrop playing some of the lead sections. All in all good stuff
There’s no question there was a rhythm guitarist off stage on the tour where Barden had just replaced Bonnet, you could clearly hear it at the gigs I went to m, most noticeably in Attack of the Mad Axeman. We never saw it as some sort of scandal though, there are just some songs that can’t be reproduced with one guitar and Raymondo who had just left, played them before. It was reputedly Michael’s guitar tech.

The modern Gibson Flying V with the routed body ala fender strat is the best strat fender never made. Change pup’s to p90’s and add a Bigsby and it’s the best tele fender never made.

MSG went straight to Norway as soon as Pandemic ended early 2022. I were there and it were awesome for 2 hours. Robin were on vocals back then too.
