A few other things worth noting are that with the smoke mushrooms you will absolutely be able to make smoke arrows to blind enemies from afar, and that the heavy weapon that fired a cannonball in the last nintendo direct is almost 100% combined, and can almost guarenteed be attached to a vehicle so you can aim while moving
Im betting the wind propeller used for the boat can be fused too. Its like a better korok leaf! Maybe fusing it with your shield and then shield surfing will let you float?
The fuse system seems simple at first glance, but when you think about it, you realize how insanely complex it is. It's no wonder why it took so long! They had to consider THOUSANDS of possible permutations that could result from players combining any number of the weapons and objects within this MASSIVE world. I'm so excited to mess around with all of this!
It looks to me like fusing with an already fused weapon replaces the current tip with the new one. In the gameplay when fusion was activated when Link already had a Log Club, the log was highlighted.
I don't know... I took a screenshot on that moment and zoomed in and there is a faint outline around the entire "log club" not just the log. It's impossible to know for sure but doesn't seem to indicate whether it would add or replace.
I just noticed that when link attaches a log to a stick the name of the item changes to log club, that means every possible combination of weapon is named
@@ivanroman8914 Actually, i'm pretty sure it'd be automatic. They do that with cooked food descriptions already. It wouldn't be too hard, from a programatical standpoint.
The fuse ability is a literal game changer. Apart from the things mentioned in this Video, I like that the mechanic majorly incentivizes hunting for materials long term. I loved the scavenging portion in the beginning of BotW and after a certain point it became kind of meaningless to do since we were so powered up that it wouldn't have served much purpose. This ability changes that completely :)
LOVED this break down. I can just see more videos like this being made about lets say having enough upgrades to power the batteies that power ur craft to reach higher far away islands you normally cant get to.
Many people in reviews of BotW said that the game was a perfect 10/10, but felt like it was missing one thing: a crafting system. So far, Tears of the Kingdom seems like the Breath of the Wild that Nintendo wanted, but didn't have the time or resources to make. Now, we can see so many new mechanics that I'm sure they've wanted since the beginning. I'm really looking forward to this game's release, because it's sure to be another Game of the Year level of incredible.
I mean with arrow tips what would be the point in elemental arrows? They would only need to introduce bombs again as a consumable so that we can have bomb arrows.
But worried about the arrow fuse mechanic. I don’t think they’d overlook this, and I don’t think elemental arrows will be removed as collectibles. But what if they are. Can we “pocket” the arrows we fuse with materials? This is critical tbh. Cause it will be one helluva pain to want to use a certain elemental arrow and constantly having to fuse materials in order to fire just one arrow. Like I said, I don’t think they’d overlook this, but haven’t seen confirmation of pocketing crafted arrows neither. Curious how they’ve handled this
I think Link will probably automatically fuse whatever resource you have the bow set to, it just looked clunky in the presentation because Aonuma was jumping back and forth between resources. I think if you set the bow to fire ice chu jellies, then it will likely automatically fuse them to your arrow without you having to select them manually. Only time will confirm this though!
In the previous trailer where we first see link use a homing arrow, he draws it without having to go into the menu, so there’s probably a way to set a material to attach to your arrows until it runs out. Edit: just rewatched it, Link is already drawing the bow when the scene pops in so actually there’s no way to tell. But yea I also hope you don’t have to attach things every time.
the UI change not showing arrow selection pretty much confirms that elemental arrows are gone honestly... your point is very valid, but like others said once you attach one material it will *probably* use that until you swap it or run out of said material.
I think the weapon at the end will break first. I have two reasons to think that: 1) the branch was badly damaged before the rock was fused onto it but seemed brand new after (my belief is it will take A LOT of damage to break the boulder but once the boulder breaks the "badly damaged" message for the branch will come back) 2) when the Construct attacked the Puffshroom it released the smokescreen but also went away, leaving Link with the original shield
I can already think about the possibilities with these mechanics like Fuse and Ultrahand as well as Recall and Ascend. Once we get our hands on this game I bet we'll have lots of fun!
The crazy outlandish ideas for Bosses that We may encounter to match the crazy new Abilities Link is given! Already, that massive 'Roblox' golem from the 3rd trailer looks amazing; wonder how many ways there will be to wear the thing down?!
Since the old runes probably won’t return for this game it makes me wonder if bullet time will be left behind as well. It did lead to like half of the glitches in the last game.
Can someone help answer a question that's been bothering me for years now? When I watch Zelda content, other people's games seem to have dramatically differing sizes of Bokoblin. In my playthroughs, they're all roughly the same scale as Link. But then I see things like this> 1:11 and the Boko is HUGE compared to Link. Having 100%'ed BotW, I would have seen some larger ones if they were there, but mine are all equally sized. Anybody else notice this? Do your Bokos scale in size too, and mine are all preemies? the recall ability will be fun in combat too but we don't know what things you can cast recall on. the world seemed to pause while Link was riding the rock back up in the gameplay trailer, but in previous trailers, you can see the spiked ball recall up to moving Moblins.
I also believe elemental arrows are gone after watching the gameplay and I honestly think that's a great change, I didn't notice the UI not showing the arrow selection anymore and that's a good catch and pretty much confirms it. Another strong evidence is how Ambers were displayed in the fuse menu, the elemental properties of gems will probably be real now instead of just lore in their description. I'd even bet there are different types of enemy (old and new ones) horns you could attach with various effects, like the yellow/lightining Lizalfos' horns serving as the new lightining arrow. In BoTW some materials like chuchus didn't have much use besides armor upgrades, yes you could use them in combat but it wasn't as streamlined as this and you would end up with hundreds in your inventory. Now materials will be much more valuable to the player (instead of just money) since there's much more reason to gather them and have plenty in your inventory.
