I love how shield bomb launching basically allows us to do those crazy combos that only the pros in botw could do. No need to do any crazy glitches anymore, now you can just get creative and try out your own combos. This seems like we're gonna keep discovering things in this game for a really long time and will not get old any time soon. So excited!!!
Another good rewind tip, if you attach wood to an arrow (or any object that isn't destroyed on impact). After firing it and waiting for it to land you can attach a platform to it with ultrahand then recall the arrow to fly where it came from. Use this to get very high quickly or travel back over a big jump/drop easily
It either works by firing arrow upwards with meat attached for example, when it lands we can recall it to aund it back into the air. We can't stand on meat, so we put a platform on top then recall the meat (quickly from the side before jumping on top) this then sends the platform up to the max hight if the arrow, then if we let it go further, it goes back to where we fired arrow from. Usually you want to jump of at the highest point. Or if we fire the arrow horizontally we can only use the trick to go back to where the arrow came from. But this can be useful if there is a single thing we want to see that is a far distance, and then want to continue from where we originally stood.
One thing I learnt was to get extra height out of a hot air balloon. Set it of and wait for it to go as high as possible, then when it falls back down, wait till you've recharged, stand on it and recall it, it will then go back up and at it's peak cancel out and activate it again. I had been neglecting the recall up to that point, didn't find it that useful. But now I'm thinking about other ways to use it.
Another thing I've noticed is that if you fuse two weapons together, when the enhanced weapon runs out of durability, only the weapon on the end breaks, leaving you with the original weapon. I think that's a really nice touch. You can also fuse rocks and boulders to shields and parry to break ores and cracked rocks.
You can transfer your old horses from BOTW to TOTK once you go to your first stable to register. Also, I have 2 Eponas now because I didn't know this when I first used my amiibo to get her in TOTK lol.
True. The implications here are crazy though. lol For instance, I was in Eldin, standing under a rail in a valley. I took a rock, rose it up, and then used Ascened to get to the top of the rock, because the Rock was too small for me to stand on as it rose without sliding off. Then I use Ultra hand to pick a slab up off of the ground, and lifted it above me before the original Rock fell. Then I could use Recall again to take the slab to the original height, then Ascend again to climb even higher and reach the rail. There are definitely times where you can make things more complicated (or cooler in some cases lol) than they need to be, but doing the impractical, sometimes helps you figure out how to do the seemingly impossible.
Here's another useful tip to whoever comes across this comment: Attach 2 fans to the front and back of a steering stick, both facing down, and you've got a hover bike. Most useful thing I'll probably ever make in totk, helped me get everywhere I could possibly want easily! Fans are obtainable on the great sky island, but to get the steering stick, unlock the mount lanayru skyview tower, get to the gumball machine at that sky archipelago, and you could get a steering stick. Hope this was useful, have a nice day!
Man this game is so amazing. The things we can do as long as you have the imagination to think it up. Like at the end with the rock/ tree pole recall and ascending through it for height just blew my mind.
Yeah I've had the same thought... BotW had a fairly simple introduction, and then the combinations and weird strategies kind of came over time - whereas here these tools with endless possibilities are thrown at you, but I find myself just sticking with "fuse a monster horn to a sword for better attack"
Something i found out which i really want to try is that if you throw a weapon and then use recall on it, it practically turns into a boomerang and comes right back
I seriously feel like I'm underutilizing ALL of the mechanics in this game.. This was very informative and has helped me relax and take my time with the many possibilities in this masterpiece..
1:40 you can take a Hinox down really easily by throwing apples (or any other cheap item) at it’s eye whenever it isn’t covering it, it still stuns it the same amount of time as a arrow would and is a bit easier to aim
Another way to move something on your favorite without wasting is by: 1 pulling out your bow 2 push and hold up on the D pad 3 selecting the item to favorite 4 press B to cancel 5 last thing repeat process till you like the spot
For you next things you didn’t know series, I noticed that while cooking Link has different humming tunes, I have heard epona’s song, Zelda’s theme just sped up, and the main theme of the original game Edit: there are more songs, I heard Saria’s song as well. @@theMagos There was also bomb jumping that speedrunners would use. It's really cool they added it as a feature into the game itself lol
