    Sir I have a few questions;
    1) Sir how do we know where in the paper we are required to use the IF, Nested IF or the IFS function?
    2) Secondly, sir what is the Sum IF Function?
    3) Do you have any guess for IGCSE 0417 P3 taking place on 18th April, 2024?

    • @paphitisn
      @paphitisn  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      IF used if you have 1 logocal statement which will result in 1 of 2 answers. Nested IF when you have more than 2 possie answers. You can use IFS instead of Nested IF bit i would not use IFS for the exam as it is not specified in the syllabus.

      @@areejfatima-tx8jc SumIFS is the same as SumIF but instead of adding values in a sum column based on 1 criteria it will sum based on multiple criteria. I have not made a tutorial on this yet but will do soon.

    cant u use lookup function instead surely it has to be quicker

    • @paphitisn
      @paphitisn  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is a totally different function. Lookup will return results based on if something exists in a lookup column, IF functions return a result based on criteria. If this is not clear then please watch my tutorial on Lookup finctions.

    Hi Mr.paphitis can you link those excel sheets so we can practice as well

    • @paphitisn
      @paphitisn  26 วันที่ผ่านมา

      i don't keep the files i use for tutorials, sorry. The amount of data on these spreadsheets is very small so you can easily copy the data in your own spread sheet so that you can practice.

    TO the point with necessary details, I've recommended this as top 1 to all my friends. I have a question tho, how do i know whether i should use a nested IF function or an IFS function?

    • @paphitisn
      @paphitisn  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First thank you for you comment and for the recomendation. Nested IF or IFS, you don't its your choice. For the Igcse exam however i would use nested IF as that js what you find in the marksheets and if i recall correctly the syllabus states IF function not IF functions which would include IFS as well.

      @@paphitisn Ahh that makes sense. Thank you for your response. I haven't been able to find any of your SUM and Average functions videos. Is there a separate video that explains SUMIF and AverageIF? AVERAGEIF did come in one of the pastpapers, and im struggling in differentiating between AverageIf and Average.

      I have not generated one yet but will do soon. I think i have something in a past paper and in the intro of excel. I will check and let you know.

    if we have an exam tomorrow

    • @paphitisn
      @paphitisn  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That depends on you. The tricky part on the spreadsheet isn't knowing the formulas, it is understanding which formulas to use to solve the problem after you have understood what is being asked. Practicing past papers will help you understanding how questions are asked and what the requirements are. If you have not solved many past papers leading up to the exam then you can do with the practice. Don't over do it. You need to rest well before an Exam.

      if the criteria is just a number and nothing else then speech marks not needed, If you are using any other character in the criteria (like logic symbols ) then you have to use speech marks. eg B3=3, B3"
