Just installed my frunk. Your video on how to install it made it a lot easier than trying to figure out the instructions included in the box. Even though I watched the video several times before attempting to install. I fell into the same mistakes regarding wiring that you did. I also had the exact same problem you had when attempting to close it for the first time. Luckily it happened to you so I knew exactly what to do. Thanks again for the video. When are you going to put out a video for the install of the foot sensor on the frunk?

You did a fantastic job on this tutorial. I'm sorry to say I got the biggest laughs when the alarm honked and the frunk didn't operate the way you expected the first time. These are the gotchas that happen to everyone no matter how good you are at these things. So thanks for those pro tips to avoid. In fact, you provide all sorts of good "avoidance" recommendations. If you hadn't declared your "amateur" status I would have assumed you are pretty comfortable with these sorts of things. Your technique was really good.
Anyway, thanks for this run through. I'll do a little more investigation, particularly to find out the differences that might exist in the process for the Model Y, but after doing that, I'm 99% sure I'll go ahead and do this. When I do, I'll definitely come back and order through your channel. And thanks for the discount when I do.
    Great job!

Yep, I installed an electric frunk opener on my first Model 3. After 2 years, one day, it wouldn't open. No problem I thought, I'll use the emergency pull behind the little disc on the bumper....only...that didn't work either. The cable had broken on the latch. 600€ later, Tesla managed to open the frunk. On my second Model 3...I didn't bother.

I don't have a Tesla.. but I ended up watching the whole video..LOL!. you did a super great job! Your video is clear and concise, you remind me of ChrisFix, but for regular non wrenching guys, and those mistake shots and trouble shootings are really nice to show.! BTW from a mechanically challenged guy to another, you have a nice garage with nice tool cabinet and work bench.. I always wanted one of those. I don't need one, but I want one. lol.

Great video. The front is doable. Great DIY video by the way!
I’m interested in seeing the video for the rear. The one rear video I saw involves drilling a hole through metal of the trunk - not a great idea because of future rust problems. I live in an area that uses salt and mag-chloride in the winter. It starts rusting on any bare metal the creeps like cancer under the paint.

The motors or the beeping? Outside of the garage it is actually not that loud. I had very sensitive mics pointed at the car. The beeps come from a little speaker that you could probably just remove.

Maybe because Tesla clients are mostly geeks, and we love this kind of toys. When you have a highly customisable toy, you may want to add as much features as you can.
I just ordered mine, will reveive in august, and already preparing the list of gadgets I will install.

And all the crappyness is hidden under plastic covers. Once you remove those covers, you get to see how atrocious the build quality really is. That said, great tutorial!
