This is extreme,Oda has no idea of what he is doing. Since Whole Cake i saw that tankman garbage with some obese Luffy throwing Cracker to smash a bunch of trees and i got enough. I come to TH-cam and see this gear 5 thing and 🤦♂️ Total disaster and with so much goofy stuff and long pacing people will get tired of going through so much filler and the end might be bad too.
Now the Wano arc is finally over. And I still can't believe Oda spent more time on fleshing out some dead character, and his lame sidekicks, than he did on fleshing out the main villain of the arc. We still know very little about Kaido. The only bright side to all of this is we finally get to see Greenbull.
And yet we have nothing. I am not quite finished Wano yet. I am on Episode 1082. But now we know Pluton is there. I hope we see it. Why is Pluton there? What did the old geezer guys start to panic when Zou elephant showed up at Wano and then were relieved when Zou left. Does the Elephant have something to do with Pluton??
The Wano Arc is finished and I agree it was trash, Big Mom and Kaido got taken out by newbs while Whitebeard was taken out by the the entirety of the Marines and Blackbeard and his Crew.
Fr the potential of this arc was wasting sooo bad. I was expecting something like planning on weaken Kaido and fight smartly instead of just jumping in face to face, becuz of that they have to use too much plot amour
every arc after the timeskip has been very repetitive and overstretched. fights have been underwhelming, even the characters have been one-dimensional.
Wano made me drop the series, had been reading for over a decade. I'm baffled people can defend the series now, its a complete disaster. It truly died at the timeskip.
Wano is amazing… peak fights, amazing character peaks & flashbacks, one of the best transformations in animanga, amazing worldbuliding… the only thing Wano lacks is a great antagonist even then it’s still amazing
Wano is the worst arc fr. The huge problem that Oda makes was making too much flashbacks and throw it randomly from somewhere, it’s way different than early arcs, when Oda was putting flashbacks at the right time. A second problem is that it has too much character storylines, which makes me hard to focus on something or a character’s story, and I feel emotionless even if someone of them died. The last and the major problem is the art, it seems beautiful at first, but as long as I read it I started realizing how bad it is, the layout is very chaotic, and the drawing is so sloppy that the character's face is quite scribbled and cannot be seen clearly.
@@MagicianSama gear 5 is garbage . It makes luffy chosen one from the start , opens up many plotholes such as why didnt wg activly chase luffy with stronger marines if they knew about his powers. It ruins greatly established power system that luffy created for gum fruit. "Comedy" is bad and repetitive , and ruins tension. I am amazed at op glazers who try to make oda's sh*t look like 5 star meal
I am a person who reads a story more if I like the characters and conflicts/drama... but the characters in OP I DO care about, don't get any development or hardly get any focus and growth. I thought Wano could've focused more on Zoro like how Wholecake focused on Sanji, but nope. We focus on ugly drawn people I don't even know or care about. Or some random attractive girl same face syndrome copy. I got chills when Moria mentioned years ago that his crew except him were wiped out and that's why he got fat and lazy and just relied on non human zombies because of the trauma he must've went through. Nope, Kaido was SO disappointing.
As of 1049, in my opinion, that has to honestly be the most undeserved and shallow ending i´ve ever seen in One Piece, why should we be exstatic when all the tension went out the window chapters ago? Luffy did not deserve a win, because of the ass-pull powerup that did not have any build-up other than Whos-Who refering to a "Nika" person, and thats it? Kaido, this supposed behemot of strenght, called "The king of beasts, strongest creature on earth" and for a while i thought that to be true, considering he smashed down all the red scabbards and most of the Worst Generation. He beat Luffy three times in a row, Three fucking times and "Apparantly" to fix that, Oda just gave Luffy a random power-up that really underplayed the importance of Wano and the strenght of Kaido. You can disagree if you want to and thats perfectly fine, but this arc (And really the show itself) just fucking killed itself. Not to mention, how the hell do you balance this for further arcs, basically reality warping -likewise with the idea that Luffys will wasn´t his own this whole time?
@@crymsondynaguy sad that lucci and crocodile feels more threatening than kaido. instead of fleshing out his past with big mom more what we got was.. A DEAD BROTHERS PAST hahahahah
It just... doesn't feel the same anymore. The one piece which was about the crew's relationships, exploration, story telling, world development, interesting characters.... it's all gone for hype. Hype. Hype. Hype. Fan service.
Been a one piece fan since 09 it’s nice to see ppl are also starting to recognize the short comings of this arc. Considering how much this arc was hyped up I have never been more disappointed it has me worried for the ending of one piece
So long as it doesn't get more ridiculous than the decisions made in this arc I'll be okay but they've crossed the line a few too many times this arc. Can't bare anymore
It has me worried about elbaf since people have been saying it's gonna be bigger and better than wano since we're gonna see the other straw hats improve with their goals and powers. Yet I, for the life of me, can't think of a single way a bunch of giants with swords and axes is gonna help ussop dressrosa was the best shot I see for ussop getting stronger
Starting to? I suffered through wano until the rebel gang was bawing their eyes out on the shore. At which point I said "I know they're not going to lose and this is just a fakeout for emotional manipulation." Such a cheap trick when I'm already more than sick of the damn arc. Haven't watched one new episode since.
"Blackbeard hasn't done anything the entire post-timeskip!" Well, he DID attack the main base of the Revolutionaries but Oda decided to off-screen that. Good call, Oda. Good call. /sarcasm
I would have thoroughly enjoyed seeing that but nope. As well as Aokiji vs Akainu, Blackbeard fighting the whitebeard pirates, and Dragon doing literally anything. List is too damn long.
Also, why is marco and izo even here? I thought Blackbeard supposedly took down the rest of WB crew but he let 2 of the strongest live. Wow how convenient
@@LuffyToons I’m tired of that excuse. Like the guy in the video stated it’s been like 25 years and there is still nothing lol and on top of that he’s just adding more bullshit to the point where things have already been retconned and plot holes are already messing it up
Oda been off screening alot of battles and things. This my problem one piece has all these pacing issues and its episodes where it takes too long for them to get to the point. I would rather them show us the full fight of ace vs blackbeard, aokiji vs akainu, Enel moon adventure, Revolution Army episodes, or show us who and what dr vegapunk is doing. Its alot of things one piece hasn't showned us yet. If they don't want the anime to catch up to the manga then show us all these mysteries in episodes its past due now we don't even know who captain john is.
My biggest problems with Wano is just how underwhelming all the fights have been and how low the stakes feel. Like the strawhats are fighting a freaking emperor's crew and beating them waaayy too easily. Like we've waited hundreds of chapters for this epic war and it feels way to easy for the strawhats. Also I hate all the fake deaths so much.
I liked Zoros fight a lot . That was The only fight “thing” in the arc. Every Other fight was ok. We knew about Kaido fer years, but we never got a thorough backstory, in a flashback.maybe they’ll expand in the anime 😃
My thoughts exactly, each of the fights go thru a similar pattern: “Straw hats losing badly -> Straw hats suddenly remember something someone said to them in the past -> Straw Hats realise how big the stakes are -> Straw Hats get sudden random power up to finish off the fight”. Its srsly repetitive in every arc and its getting lame :-(
@@josemourinho2090 i love oda but 70% of the time he is ass at making 1v1 fights compared to every one else in the manga industry like sometimes i wonder how tf like katakuri vs luffy was written by the same person
It's not even just Wano. Reverie was short lived and shoulda got more care. WCI was completely shitty to the BM pirates we never got to see much of Smoothie's DF powers. And really save for a few the rest got sidelined. Dressrosa dragged and so did PH. FMI just felt pointless even though it wasn't and Hody was a lame villain. Wano itself was shitty to BM and her crew. On top of the lack of actual stakes. Post TS save for Zou has been a mess.
Out of the arcs you mentioned i have only disliked wano, whole cake was peak one piece, no Zoro bullshit, fun time and good drama, only punk hazard I'd say is worse than wano
I thought whole cake was good but i agree the more I look back at wano the more I hate it. The power scaling in this arc is so fucking bad that it makes irrelevant characters like the tobi roppo seem stronger than katakuri, a yonko first commander. I really dislike how oda handled this entire arc
Bruh, I've seen fanfic better than what went down in Wano. Like, really, Law & Kid's useless selves take out Big Mom with one attack? THE Big Mom. The Big Mom that SINGLE HANDEDLY had the strawhats, all the Sun Pirates, Jinbei, all the Fire Tank crew all running because the prospect of facing her was impossible? Nah, fam. And what happened to Kaido being invincible? After all that he seems like that was pointless hype. Throughout, he seemed completely beatable. The fact not just Luffy, but even Killer cut him... And all the trash fights against the tobiropo and king & queen. I legit would've preferred all that nonsense to get off screened if it was gonna be so anticlimactic. And of course Luffy fell into the ocean next to Law's submarine and gets a plotarmor chosen one power up One Piece has become fairy tail and these corny dudes just creaming over Oda's d every chance they get. They've ruined the best shonen and people are happy about it. No wonder the anime industry comes out with so much trash every season, all these men are binmen and wastemen at heart
Right on. I'm wondering are the people genuinely liking what they're reading or are they turning a blind eye to all the garbage shit because they're that much of a oda d rider?
I couldn't help but notice Carrot as your picture. Think she will join the Straw Hats? I'd like her to but this arc has criminally underused her and now Yamato has made people not want her to join which is bs to me.
One piece started to irritate me in wano. Now I can safely say wano sucks. Oda just didnt deliver. He just draggs things, always adding more characters, more plots but without solving old ones. After wano, I'm starting to feel the remaining arcs will suck too. This autor had a lot of time to think about wano and what did we got? Its just sad cause one piece could have been great . Specially new world.
Watch there be an avalanche of answers instead of a steady stream. 24 or 25 years and for us to still be in the dark with a torch while other Fandoms at this point at least have just discovered the light bulb and have indoor plumbing.
Holy shit this comment section is a goldmine of likeminded people 😻. Well said bra 👏🏽. This manga is getter worse I realize. EVERY Arc gets dragged for an extra 2 years.
Moreover, the buildup to Wano rly sucked as well. It doesnt help tht characters we r supposed to take pity on like “momo, kinemon, kiku etc” are honestly.... irritating af. I mean all tht “Way of the Samurai” nonsense is getting boring.
Bro at this point im not even that hyped of the ending no. More. Zoro vs Mihawk? Shii at this point zoro is gonna struggle a lil at the beginning and finish mihawk off with one strong finisher attack at the end. It'll be a 2/3 chapter fight MAYBE with offscreen shit
Bro, the way Oda softened Kaido is one of the greatest disservices to a story and fandom I have ever seen. There is no tension anymore. It really feels like Luffy can just beat any fucking body now. Kaido was supposed to be “the most powerful creature in the world.” Luffy beat him while laughing and shit. I don’t give a fuck if that’s related to his new powers. Luffy should have had to go emotionally deeper for this fight than he did with Katakuri. But it is not even close, Katakuri was a far superior fight. This story deserves better.
Oda like couldn’t of fumbled it and the fact that he did has forever dropped one piece from my #1 like it would have to have the best final arc of all time to some what recover from this stain and no more fakoutdeaths and mabye i could forgive wano but i doubt thats gonna happen oda ia past prime by now
@@gamingparadise3390 i said one piece was dropped from my #1 spot to my #2 im faaaaar from hating it. I actually still like alot of things about wano but overall its flawed. Im just disappointed and very worried about one piece pulling a naruto shippuden and throwing away all the story buildup right at tte end. Plus wano has been built up for the last 4 arcs its not just any arc its the most integral part of the story post time skip and he fumbled the potential.
@@Liaison_Verequiem Now in Egghead he gets clapped as well by the Nika fruit. My guess is Oda has grown really bored and wants to finish One Piece quickly so he made Luffy as broken as Giorno Giovanna's Gold Experience Requiem in Jojo.

Agreed, the whole cake island arc is miles better than wano country: - They played it "safe" (Feudal Japan settings, Took away almost any pirate thing about OP, Samurai thing, Tyrant shogun, a lot of feudal japanese stereotype) - Lack of enemy diversity in first half and showered us too quickly in Onigashima, not giving many enemies backstory as much as other arcs. - Stretched too long, tbh since the kozuki oden flashback that turned out i don't really liked him than any younger characters around him at his time and how long-ass luffy try to reach kaido combined with a lot of breaks. This arc should not be this long - Kaido just pure evil, almost no depths as villain. He just got the looks. He fell in category of Mermaid Island Saga that category of wasted villain and settings - CP0 didn't have anything to do with Kaido forces and he's there or not really not make any differences - I really want to see tank man normal version or other gear 4th version, but instead we got gear 5th JoyBoy version that honestly is bad in design. It literally just supersaiyan with gooey hair and shiny golden white outfits. No uniques form that have strong/weakness like gear 4th. Oda really let me down this time - Also idk, the power of Sun god Nika is kinda betraying the simple one piece powers. From devil fruits, into armament, into haki and now God powers that conveniently look and function alot like super saiyan? - Other fights than Luffy vs Kaido or Yamato vs Kaido isn't good at all. No flashbacks, no explanations no great surprise. Pale compared Water 7 and Alabasta. Which is the greatest fight representations in One Piece ever Finally it's over, the final battle isn't as good as we all hyped for. I hoped whatever arc after wano is much better. And by those multiple long breaks, please don't let One Piece into Berserk that end up hanging. Oda is getting older so as all of his team. Pls don't stretch it too much, let 2-3 arc end One Piece. Edit: The anime is the worst one. Maybe the most silent staredown iv'e seen in anime ever. Eating 5 minutes of 40 minutes episodes minus by 5 minutes intro, 10 minutes callbacks, 1 minutes trailer, 10 minutes filler, and 10 minutes of plots. I don't follow the anime after kozuki flashback. My god the filler and staredown killing me
Toei is worse than the world government. Yet can create a masterpiece like episode 1015. These people are toying with our emotions like it's their playthings.
Yea i stopped watching the anime too just read the manga tbh. I stopped before the raid on onigashima and haven't touched any episodes besides the gear 5 episode and a few select others. I love the anime but I can't go back to that pacing. I watched the majority of one piece during covid when I had nothing to do so I just don't have the time to watch 15 minutes of flashbacks and 5 minutes of staredowns/punches/different angles of clips for 100+ episodes.
The worst arc in one piece. 1. Do not have link between sipnosis. (Ex: Kid said big moom just has strong defence but not undefeatable, I think by then Kid will take BM down by break her defence, but BM hit by Law to the ground in next chapters) 2. Every one in Luffy sides cannot be defeated, not only main character such as Luffy and Zoro, but Kimemon and Draker as well 3. Most of Kaido sides was taken down because of their silly or accident (Ex:BM, Queen, Page One, Ulti) 4. Weird picture cut 5. Oda uses a lot of times to describe unnessecary character,. Why Law and Kid have fruits awakening??? Why dont describe more about the battle of Tobiroppo and Plagues??? Yes, the power ups of Luffy crew are awesome. But the basic one--- story and logic are bad, this already caused me dont like this arc. Damn.
Yeah, most arcs I've loved Oda's writing because I would always try to guess what was gonna happen, or what I wanted to happen, but Oda would always come out with something better I never even thought of. Wano has been so simplistic, I honestly can't believe it. When Oda (supposedly) said "2021 will be the year of Akagami", I thought it would be Shanks and his crew that would come and help defeat Kaido & Big Mom. I kept trying to guess how they'd win the raid, or if the raid would be interrupted and for some reason the Beast and Big Mom pirates would run off to somewhere else; in my mind I assumed that since Blackbeard knew about Luffy going to Wano to fight Kaido with Big Mom chasing after him, then the whole world knew and the "Greatest War the World has seen" would unfold just like Kaido announced in his (in hindsight pure hype) introduction... But this was just the most basic 1v1 resolution. It was so basic and similar to Fairy Tail I damn near expected Luffy to scream "I'm all fired up" or something. One good thing is that it helped me realize just how insidious the fanbase is seeing how they tear you to pieces for taking issue with poor writing. It's really just a "Praise [G]Oda" circle jerk. Even BDA Law that called out the anime for doing BS like changing the Luffy v Doflamingo fight, ruining Kaido's introduction as well as Kaido vs Luffy 1st encounter has been reduced to a guy that praises anything and everything that comes out.
Anyone remember the Numbers and how hyped they were? What have they done this entire raid? Also why tf was Akainu worried about the samurai in Wano? They were irrelevant and weak as all hell throughout the entire raid. Kizaru would've clowned all of them.
@@crymsondynaguy The numbers seemed like a joke from day one to me (and delivered on that). I had hope for the flying 6 though, but was definitely disappointed there too.
@@secretcountry what's worse is none of them had an awakening of any kind. Kaido himself talked about awakening to Luffy only to not have the damn thing himself
One thing that I was really banking on for this arc was seeing the other strawhats develop haki and progress in general, especially after Usopp's awesome moment in Dressrosa or Brook's moment in Whole Cake (my favorite part of those arcs). At least that would've been a silver lining despite all the gripes I have with Wano. lol, nope.
Exactly bruh. If this was gonna be a power up arc at least focus on the crews fights. Them having to overcome durable zoans with haki by advancing their haki or learning new skills. It would make the crew look more believably strong in the final arc. Right now this is a yonko crew with only 4 haki users how on earth can they be useful in the final war if they were useless this arc?
At this point usopp can’t be saved 😭 And don’t expect him to have a huge power up in Elbaf because people had the same expectations with wano and zoro back then (especially for his development in general and the fact that it would be focused on him) and they were kinda wrong at the end so idk
Oda adds things as he goes along, often without thinking how this will impact the story. The only reason why people praise him is because of the theories and promises that things will get better. Oda planned for the series to last 5 years, and now we are at 25 years, so the argument that he has everything planned out that every loose threat will be wrapped up is ridiculous.
they really used Shinbou's Aging ability the same way ppl were bitching about Hori "would" use Eri's Time based quirk to Deus Ex Machina heal someone to BS all injuries n asspull a power up to win a fight🤣🤣🤣🤣One Piece fans are so creditless
Man, this is my first time watching you, but you said EXACTLY all the things I think!! I was legit bothered by how shitty the arc has been, and after not seeing any of the big OP TH-camrs saying anything, I searched "One Piece Wano is bad" and this video was the first one to appear. I'm glad it did, and that I'm not the only one who thinks like this!
Same bro same...I was searched that and got surprised...no big op youtuber isn't talking about flaws of op they're just busy sucking oda and it's not only wano you won't find any criticism from them for any op arcs
Thank you both for watching and making your way here. I've shared some of these same sentiments in comment sections of the big content creators like BDA Law and got pounced on by dozens of people. It's fine to love the show. I still hold it in high regard and love it myself but I can't overlook the buffoonery. I can't let love cloud my judgment.
Death is an important part of any good story. The fact that no characters die, is just bad. It makes everything have no consequence. It's about time people started to wake up.
Yep it’s a basic story concept that death is important for many reason. In one piece it could be used to enhance a villains presence as a threat or pending danger, it could also give value to a character or redeem a character, then you have also away to give value to that characters purpose & reason for being in the story such as character development & improving the story, then finally you have the option of giving high stakes to the story which is realism.
some characters really need to die in the final arc. its not just "oh killing characters thats cool haha" but at this point its ridiculous how high the stakes are and how barely anyone has died
The list of garbage in wano is too big to write out but holy crap was this whole thing a disappointment overall. Sanjis first 1v1 post timeskip and it's a fight where he mostly has good character development but in terms of the action it's lame as fuck. Queen is goofy bum that got oneshotted once sanji had his shit together. Even king was manhandled as soon as zoro controlled enma.. This was a battle against not one but TWO FUCKING EMPERORS and who died? Ashura and Izo in literally the most undramatic ans boring manner possible. Not even izos brother GAVE A FUCK. How the fuck is kinemon even alive. He's fucking yonko level with the shit he's tanked seriously now
Kinemon was literally cut in half and should’ve died of blood loss at the very LEAST 😭 And the fight scenes with okiku and kinemon against kanjuro had amazing writing and character development only for kanjuro to be resurected 2 times for no reason except for onigashima to explode like wtf did Oda do I didn’t know he liked this character that much
If Oda actually confims later on in the series that Luffy is actually the Sun God Nika and Zoro is a descendant of some special clan of wano, my rating for the show will drop a lot. Idk why manga authors keep trying to make their characters “Special”. Why can’t they be just some random characters who got big dreams and goals instead of being characters who’s fate is already decided for them?
@@counterintuitivepanda4555Luffy’s ends up being the sun god & zoro a decedent of a crazy samurai clan. Original commenter literally called it out way before it happened
exactly the only tid bit for-shadowing was joy-boy but it doesn’t say anything about luffys fruit. only when he was defeated by cipher pol and the world government said about doing something about it and that its RUBBER. so where does it say luffys fruit is mythical zoan aside from deus ex machina power up at the last moment before he awakens?
Nah man it really was implied since the beginning that Luffy is representing the sun itself in some way, i dont have a problem with him secretly having that fruit. The reveal just felt pretty underwhelming but thats mostly because of everything else that went wrong in Wano.
@@centurymemes1208 What about the very first ark beeing called Romance Dawn, his ship beeing the Thousand Sunny, the main antagonist Blackbeard saying "sun vs darkness, only one can win" Luffys connection to the sun was always implied. Out of everything that went wrong in Wano Luffy secretly having the Nika Nika fruit makes the most sense. How it was revealed sucked tho.
I feel you man, I was a fan of Onepiece for so long but after I saw that gear 5. I immediately lose interest in the series. Luffy is now the chosen one for everything, he is so special that he is not special for me anymore. Nika fruit is lame, theories about foreshadowing this sun god thing are lame as well
Very disappointing. One piece is the king of overhyped. As a fan, they will overhype you just to get disappointed. Interesting stories and fights were left offscreen and oda focused on the long boring fight that surpass freeza vs goku.
Wano is what happened when your only focus is to make your main characters look good and nothing else. Seriously, Oda spent decades building up the emperors and how, if they aligned together, they will bring about the end of the world, only to completely screw the whole thing over to hype Luffy. Luffy, in One Piece, has achieved way more than even Roger and Whitebeard at way less the age. Let me put that into perspective. The 2 most powerful men of their respective eras, achieved way less and way slower than this literal dumpster fire of a walking plot armour character like Luffy. Sad. Post time skip has been the death knell of One Piece for a long time now. Ever since Dressarosa, to be fair.
I'm always remembering that devil fruit users are completely weak against sea prism object and sea salt related stuff..... I'm wondering how come enemies especially natives never took in account of gathering sea salt water to forge for against devil fruit users. Hell I wonder why nami and ussop can't merge them into there weapons.... What is your thoughts
That would be an excellent utilization indeed. It would greatly improve the combat capabilities of Nami and Ussop but seeing as Nami has a homie from Big Mom that can control weather and one hit people she's kind of op now and they won't bother but I'd like to see that. Nami and Ussop should also learn haki coating but the show only makes emphasis on it for stronger characters while weaker ones don't even bother yet they are in the new world so you would think even if you are being carried by multiple op people that you should still learn haki as on your own you'd be rekt but no mention is made of this.
@@crymsondynaguy Ditto. But I'm starting to think Oda couldn't care less about Usopp. Nami got her "Homie" powerup. Usopp is still frightened of his own shadow. That's a good outlook for someone whose dream was to become "A brave warrior of the sea". I guess the joke's on him. He's the new Buggy.
@@redeks7015 , Usopp is going to stop being comedy relief in Ebalf because since Sanji and Nico Robin both two of their own arcs unlike the rest of the crew which only has one character arc or none at all like Brook then Usopp is definitely getting his own arc in Ebalf where he can be as powerful as the mightiest Giant but remaining a normal sized human male, but you’re right that it’s exactly sad that Buggy the Clown is and will always be comedy relief throughout the entire series.

Wano had everything to be the best arc , but Oda is like an friend pointed back during dresrossa "in the automatic pilot" he did the same thing so many times that he can't just risk to do different in his story . I don't get surprised anymore in any figth, reason ? I know that luffy will win without long term consequences, a character died ? Hmm better wait (pound , pell , papaya , kinnemon) , and so on . Kaido is one the most plain villains in the story (ironically probably the strongest to show up) , orochi is irritating, characters Allies for no reason , power ups came like Santa bringing presents ...
Good video, I agree with your critique. Personally I wouldn't say stuff like "I have faith in Oda" to emulate dogmas from OP fans in order for you not to come across overly critical, I think it's deserved to say how it is. Talk about constant teasing, I also don't appreciate Oda teasing character development and in the end not go through with it. Sanji got this treatment the most, let me pull out a recent example. Oda teased us with a drawback to his new ability where he loses control of himself and may have hit a woman but then *ba dum tss* : It was Queen all along... Pacing issues, oversaturating the plot, no character development from the main cast, too many questions left after 20+ years, the use of clichéd narrative techniques (Flampé plot device, Big Mom amnesia, Kinemon plot armor...),... You really don't need to hold back on One Piece, the issues need to be pointed out for those who can't see or refuse to see it. Other than that, I enjoyed your video. Good stuff
Appreciate you so much for watching and I completely agree with your points. I hope I didn't come across as a hater of any kind because I really love One Piece but I hate these kinds of story tropes in any fiction.
@@crymsondynaguy You can't satisfy everyone in this world, when it comes to critique you need to be polarizing imo. Mannnnn, nobody dies in one piece , am glad u talked about it, i have lost interest a long time ago now, we still dont kbow nothing in one piece, am done man
Spitting hard facts my man. The fandom is still too caught up in the spectacle of the anime to realize how terrible Wano is. It has yet to conclude and already one of the worst arcs in the series. Oda promised Marineford 2.0 and he delivered Dressrosa 2.0 instead. Big Mom and CP0 add nothing to the arc. Kaido's motivations as a villain are all over the place. Characters show up out of nowhere (How did Jinbei get away from Big Mom? Why did Kidd and Marco join the alliance despite turning down the offers earlier?). I can only hope Oda learns from the failings of Wano and this series doesn't go down in flames.
It irritates me how the big one piece youtubers aren't acknowledging the flubs of Wano. These are so aggressively bad that they can't be excused for any work of fiction. One of the biggest bs moments is still the going merry saving the strawhats because of their bond with the ship somehow spawning sentience. I guess no other crew has ever loved their ship including Roger. Pure cap.
Speaking of CP0, I srsly hate the plot armor given to the Straw Hats. I mean: *Kaido Thunder Baguas Kinemon* - Kinemon survives *Kaido Thunder Baguas CP0 agent* - CP0 agent dies Zero logic -.-
When Kaido one shot luffy with thunder bagua just to put him in jail I already knew this arc was going to be trash. Why not just kill him and see the ending credits? 😂
At this point, I’m convinced Oda is totally writing himself into a corner with overwhelming number of plot threads that we’ll never get an answer. It’s becoming an all hype but no payoff situation and it’s not gonna end well
Ace's death was ok and a moment if growth for Luffy but the way it happened was stupid and kinda disrespectful. But then Sabo coming in out of no where replacing Ace in everyway just makes Ace's death pointless
Kinda agree with you brother on this. My reasons: No kaido backstory Yamato 0 kill confirmed by yonko No Zoro character development Ignored Ryuma L Kinemon and his entire team Ussop n Brook did nothing. And many many other......🤦♂️🤦♂️
🤣🤣🤣 100% agree with everything in this video. Thankfully I only started watching OP last year. If I would be watching for 20 years, the waiting frustration would have sucked soooo much
They got me trapped. The lore is quite literally the best I've ever seen in fiction and I love many parts of this franchise but I just can't let some of this slide. Well over 22 years and we have been stood up on many dates and left at the altar by Oda. He's a player
I'm a relatively new to the series. I mean i started watching it a long time ago when I was younger but I dropped it and came back recently. In my opinion, as a newcomer to the series, I found pre time-skip One Piece way more enjoyable and creative. I had a lot more fun watching it.
Agreed. Post timeskip hasn't been up to par. I've enjoyed most of it but I'd say it's lacking in the emotional aspect and cohesive arcs. Whole cake island to me was the best arc post timeskip.
I am binge watching one pace for the entirety of last year finally catching up with Egghead. I must say, post time skip I have yet to encounter emotional moments of character growth like Nami’s strawhat moment, Robin scream, Raised fists in alabasta.. that made the series worth it. Now I am going on world building and lore alone (they are still top tier) but I don’t nearly care for the charachters as much or their dreams. I don’t know how you guys put up with such a sharp decline for over 10 years
you nailed it . your critique of this arc is on point as much as I'm a fan of the series everything you said in this video is exactly my issue with this arc. the lack of tension, underwhelming fights, characters acting as if they're going to die only to be seen in the next few chapters, the fact that there are two yonkos and they barely caused any casualties, Big mom being the biggest joke out of them all and Yamato being a bland ass character. But the thing that bugs the fuck out of me is that the world government out of the sudden reveals that they were looking for Luffy's fruit for 800 years when its been in their faces the entire time
I'll be making a new video on the events of 1049 and 1050 who's spoilers are out. Kaido may get back yp again which is not to bad for me but his getting up means luffy would have to get back up which at this point would be blasphemous.
@@crymsondynaguy i'll be looking forward to it what do you think on Luffy's fruit making him a cartoon character i personally think it ruins the serious tone of the battle against Kaido
@@shadowofthenorthstar989 I won't lie and say that it didn't take about a week for me to adjust to it but after re-reading the build up to it along with rewatching episodes from the start of the series and major moments I honestly like it. To me it's true to the characher that is Luffy and almost all his fights have been on cartoonish shenanigans hence his being a rubberman which turned people off here in the west as a lot of anime watchers here prefer edgier fights and transformations. To me Oda is pushing the envelope on what a Shonen can be and I appreciate and admire his genius in being able to execute something like this because after all Luffy has said numerous times that he wants to be "the freeest man on the seas" and what is more free than having the ability to change the environment, the opponent, and yourself as you see fit?
Bro I'm a big op fan but let's be honest , Wano is a trash arc when plot armor was the mvp . i feel pain in my heart seeing my best mnaga failing that way , im crying 😭
King is revealed to be a Lunarian. Backstory shows want to meet JoyBoy or Nika (but I think he said JB). Gets beaten by Zoro. GEAR 5 ARRIVES AT ONIGASHIMA. King?!?!?!?!? Doesn’t show up again (just to be low diff’d by Green Bull) or react to this. I get Oda needs to still have some mystery of the world…but why was bro a Lunarian?!?!?!? What was the point?
That was great. You're one of the few people who called out Ace's bullshit death, and why do people like Yamato? She is arguably the worst character in the series, but yeah, 2 supernovas beat Big Mom and now Luffy is going to kick Kaido's ass, I called this problem out 2 years ago. "I can't leave this Earth until I know the end of this show" Berserk fans said the same thing.
Worst fear for one piece by far. May the creator rest in peace as well. The way Law and Kid beat her is choked full of too much bs. Having awakenings up their ass and Law having or running out of stamina as the plot demands. He's like a more useful sasuke in boruto but still somewhat of a glass cannon.
I'm calling it out as well. They went through all that drama, lost so many good lives, just for Ace to die in the dumbest way. "DUHH URR ! dOn'T tAlK AbOuT pOpS". When it was CLEAR to everyone that he was being baited. And Sabo is a very BORING,SAD replacement for Ace. It's hard not to fall asleep whenever he's on.
@@josemourinho2090 This‼️ Like where was his awakening against doffy This arc was literally asspull Big mom didnt even utilize advance haki in her fight she didnt fight back she was just taking attacks
@@josemourinho2090 exactly thats my biggest issue with the Law and Kid fight Law did that new thing with his sword that he never used before and i was like where was this against Doffy?
I went from episode 1029 and skipped straight to 1067. (Nearing Gear 5 reveal)Very long and boring fight scenes. A bunch of nothing happening and like you said, no one died so I don’t feel like I missed anything. I watched every other arc in its entirety, but Wano just made me rage. Long ass fuck for no reason.
Finally a reasonable man who calls it like it is. I think the majority of viewers are influenced by the opinions of the big youtubers and are scared to think for themselves. WANO EPICNESS (even though we have no explanation behind it)
Man I already hated this arc but you pointed out stuff that I totally missed. Thank you for speaking the truth. This was the nail in the coffin for me. This show was already getting frustrating, but Wano made it just piss me off.
I do not care what your opinion and reasons are, if you seriously think Wano is a worse are than Fishmen Island, Thriller Bark or Punk Hazard you are simply insane and can not be taken seriously.
The point is that this arc was more DISAPPOINTING than the Fishmen island arc, which he’s right about. The arc overall might not be that bad, but it’s definitely pretty disappointing and it definitely un-delivered in a lot of narrative areas.
Agree with so much here. Yamato came out of nowhere. The whole Nika concept came out of nowhere, and the emperor's feel less menacing than arlong did back in the day.
ngl i did feel that some parts in wano were really slow and dragged out, which will suck more ass for the anime watchers. Also too many characters to remember for this arc and so they feel forgettable as hell. The last few chapters are great though, but wano was a pain. Thriller Bark was better ngl. But this still better than foxy pirates arc.
You're right. Oda screwed up royally when he killed Ace. His editor tried to tell him it was the wrong move. Then Oda realized his mistake and shoved Ace "2 Point No" into the story. Sabo is not, nor will he EVER be as cool as Ace. Even though Oda clearly tried to prop Sabo up by making him Dragon's second in command, which makes absolutely no sense. Sabo has the be the ONLY One-Piece character I'd like to see go. But nope, Oda isn't about to off his lame replacement for Ace. And don't get me started on Wano. Does anybody care about the Scabbards? Why were they given so much attention instead of the SH crew? What happened to Kaido's backstory? Oda wanted to hype up Wano so much, he forgot how to tell the story. No sad/epic backstory for Kaido, because we needed to learn about Snoroden. "He seduced and kidnapped 50 women by the age of 5"- OMG. Give me a break already. And didn't they promise that things would be revealed in Wano? They didn't reveal anything.
Bro thats stupid. A character should not die because they are likable? Dumb logic. I hate the way Ace died, it was for a stupid reason, but the death was still sad. What would have been dumb is if Oda brought him back like he does to everyone else... oh actually he basically did that with bringing in Sabo. I dont like Sabo either
I swear, oda once said something along the lines of "if Luffy beats a strong character with one punch it would be bad" idk if it's true but if it's, then kaido is a victim.
I agree with what u mention about wano. But the biggest frustration is more directed to one piece overall instead of wano arc specifically. I felt oda is jamming alot of info and characters into wano. Felt very rush. And to be Frank, oden and his son character are not really appeal to make us feel attached to them.
Gosh, I remember when I was young and got excited chills when Moria mentioned that his crew was wiped out by Kaido except him, and the idea of seeing how sinister Kaido must be compared to the other Yonkou was hyping me up. But I was really disappointed with Kaido and I also was disappointed in Charlotte linlin or whatever her name is. But Kaido was a let down imo.
There is an argument to be made that beings will overuse resources, leading Thanos to consider taking out half the universe, which would have been a better choice. Back in 2018, maybe a few people were making that argument though. Plus, when I watched the movie back then, it seems Thanos simply had a genuine interest in taking out populations, believing that living beings are the problem itself. 2:56
The biggest problem of Wano is clear stated in this video. It is not the lenght itself but a total luck of substance. Imagine someone fell asleep in 2018, wake up in 2022 and asks someone to tell important info about this 4 year arc that matters for the whole One Piece plot. Except the fact that Luffy onepunched the main villain with a giant fist (that was obvious from the beginning) nothing happened that gives a reader extra knowledge of the OP world. Thats just lazy writing.
When Big Mom got rolled by Jimbei and Robin, I was groaning out loud. But then I got to episode 1006, and I saw the Kaido Hybrid Form spoiler in the first 20 seconds of the opening, and even as a 15-16 year fan of One Piece, I don’t know if I wanna continue watching. The pacing and structure from 956-999 was so good, it was damn near incredible, and now it’s falling off a cliff so fast I don’t know if I wanna keep going. Luffy, Sanji, Zoro, Kidd, Law, Killer, they’re taking so long just to get through a hole in the ceiling that Luffy was directly staring at. He can literally just reach up, grab the ceiling and throw himself through the hole. But instead, he’s choosing to run through the entire castle with Sanji for no reason. It’s just so bad, the writers and creators of the show treat the fanbase like we’re complete morons that won’t notice this shit. Inu and Neko’s transformations were sick, and the scene where they’re just color streaks zipping through the air and doing circles around Jack is sick. But then we get nothing for multiple episodes, and when they go back to the fight, they completely redo the transformations and they don’t even zip around Jack or anything. Then they proceed to absolutely fodder-tier Jack. It’s another 0/10 moment for me. You don’t have to redo every scene every time you check back on the characters. It’s a giant waste of time, you’re showing me the exact scene a second time but this time it’s just shitty and not good. Shinobu and Momonosuke are being complete dumbasses for no reason, running away from Yamato who is also a dumbass, for multiple episodes. She’s just chasing them down a fucking hallway yelling “I am Oden!” for MULTIPLE EPISODES. IT IS STUPID. The best part of the arc so far, besides Luffy/Kaido 1 and the Oden backstory and flashbacks, has quite clearly been Kaido vs The Akazaya. They barely give it any time during the episode and then you don’t see them again for multiple episodes. It’s all just not good all of a sudden. :/
Been a one piece for 15 years now as well and i stopped watching it this last 30 episodes mainly because once in a while i go back to watch the old one piece episodes and holy shit one piece got soo worse it's used to funny dramatic and when it's comes to business time it's all seriousness now they mix drama with comedy for example someone is telling his dramatic life story while fucking frank is crying and shit that just ruins the dramatic moment also there's no comedy in the show anymore mainly to the change of the characters of liffy chopper and the stretching of episodes is just terrible for no reason i honestly can't bare to watch 5 minutes straight without getting board if u want to understand what i mean just go back and watch arabasta arc and you will get my point when the fight were more about planing and using your brain to win rather then fucking colors and shouting
Imo the Best thing about this arc was Kaido vs Big Mom. Everything else has been garbage. It's hard to believe I'm currently watching Luffy fight Kaido and I'm bored outta my mind😴
I always felt that One Piece was the "Lost" of anime, so much setup to near infinity, while solving little to no existing plot threads along the way. A giant infinitely growing sea. But it's like building an infinite sand castle, it either is an epic win, or if built on bad foundations, it epically crashes to the ground. One Piece is like a drug, or the mafia, I want to get out, but it drags me back, despite that it makes me feel bad. I just want this thing to end, and time to pass, and reasonable objective looks to dominate the discussions, instead of extreme hype and toxic gatekeeping.
The only good thing from one piece, are certain Videogames, like the Pirate warriors Franchise. You can play all that Potential that got wasted by Oda. I don't even care what the One piece is, Because the blaspemyous Writing & clown on his own ideas & characters Since whole cake Island arc is pure nihilism, and it shows how bad he as writer is. He just doesn't care. Even the own written wano arc in PW4 was better written than the Manga one. And that says A LOT.
10:25 Let's be honest, man. The only reason Blackbeard has two devil fruits, is because Oda pretty much thought "Hmmm, I don't think Blackbeard is threatening enough. How about I let him get one of the most dangerous Paramecia fruits, on top of the Logia fruit he has already."
I think you're glossing the fact that its actually thematically very fitting as he now represents darkness(yami yami) and destruction(gura gura). I think there would explanation along the line but what really matters is the theme accompanying it. Ex. Doflamingo as a manipulative puppetmaster, inside and outside of dressrosa, hence the string fruit
@@justaway6901 Destruction? Last time I saw him he drinking and chilling in an island with his crew. Even Whitebeards "son" has caused more destruction than BB
@Joggerberg Ethnicstein if this is garbage than what's is the chapter with kinemon surviving due to law fruit from hundreds of chapters ago and Kiku surviving while law and kid asspull awakenings? We can't call something garbage loosely. It would depreciate it's meaning.
You speaking straight facts one piece is my favorite as well ive been a fan from the jump. I just cant see how people just sit up there and accept anything I cant at all im outspoken on it. I say oda is a fantastic writer but the best nope he isn't it's flaws and plotholes everywhere his world building is so huge that he backed himself into a corner trying to figure out the answers. Gear 5th was an asspull because he wrote kaido to strong so he had to give luffy a power up. and the government messed it up even more with the fact that they was looking for the fruit which took 800 years to find but luffy round here screaming out gumo gumo no and no one figured it out at all. The haki system still hasn't been explained joyboy foreshadowing was done horribly wrong. Wano turned one piece into dbz it was a lot wrong with the arc.
Best video I’ve seen of your current take on one piece regarding the timeskip and the Wano arc is a disappointment at this point a lack of detailed information and no deaths in the battle so far what a let massive down however I say that Whole Cake is the worst arc so far but wano is ending off badly
Up until this point before Wano I saw Punk Hazzard as the most boring arc but Whole Cake did have some bs plot induced stupidity in order for the Straw Hats to succeed. Especially when you consider the fact that only half the crew was there and look at what they accomplished. Had all of them had went the arc would have ended in less than half the time.
My fav arc are Impel Dowm, Dressrosa and Whole cake island, I know the last 2 were bad at the climax BUT wano, I’ve never wanted to drop one piece except while watching its filler, too long, too much anarchism gender-allies swjs, the only strong strawhats are the supernova trio, I can’t see a proper end, still Law and Doffy are my fav characters
Your favorite arcs are my favorites, my issue is that Oda is thrash at making fights, the start of wano didn't catch me it was ok at best, and knowing it was gonna be a fight centered arc i knew it was gonna go bad, i almost cried when kinemon "died" and was telling my friend on how good this arc was and how Oda Made it, my friend said he didn't die, when I found out i just didn't care, if only Oda killed kiku and kinemon then this arc would be good, at least in whole cake actual characters died (pekoms and Pedro), who tf cares about ashura doji and Izo
@@superwaffle9312 well, Tite kubo drew good fights but terrible ending, you could say the jump did him dirty , since the beginning he wanted to give screen time to Ichigos buddies like Keigo, Tatsuki etc, but the jump forced him to start the Soul society arc, Meanwhile Oda has been given nothing but time, way too chungs of arcs with nothing in concrete, Wano felt like an experiment and some small detail about the ending
The first part of the video of one piece current arc lacking stakes is correct, but the so called new elements you described, such as Joy boy was already foreshadowed even in pre timeskip. Sometimes it's just hard to remember these things because of how subtle they can be, along with how long One piece is.
Bro planting ideas early on then coming back later to expand on them isn’t foreshadowing. Y’all r getting played by oda lmao. He drops all this shit so and then waits until he can finally explain why it was necessary to have that in the story. Gurantee gear 5th was not planned AT all
You know something mate......maybe it's true......maybe Oda has grown unfortunately really bored of his story and in order to wrap it up as fast as possible he's powering up Luffy to bollocks concept. The only things that are keeping me attached are all the mysteries around characters like Shanks , the mysteries about the Void Century and all the races of inhabitants in One Piece's Earth and the fact that we still haven't seen the full backstory of Luffy's family , Garp and Dragon definitely play a huge role in the story we haven't seen yet.Not kidding if Oda keeps Luffy like that after Wano , i'll just wait for all those questions of mine to be answered and i'll drop One Piece.I don't even want ro watch the Final War with Luffy just snapping his fingers and one shotting literally everyone.Other than that , i really hate the thought of it but it looks like Oda wants to rush things up.Well what can we do.......If Oda wakes up one day and says all that has been a prank , here's what's actually going on , even then i will drop One Piece because then i will have realized that i've grown up to the point i really should start making moves about my future and not have time at all to continue getting busy with it.I'll just say it's definitely been a fun and exciting journey , full stop.
Not sure if you still read those comments now, but here's a longer one... I actually agree with you. Essentially, even though the story has gone on for 20+ years (which is not a bad thing for me), it feels extremely rushed in regards to Luffy's power-ups (he was one-shot and knocked-out by Kaido at the beginning of the arc, now he might defeat him?). Same with the fight against Katakuri. It went from no-chance to being equal too fast for my taste. On top of that, each arc nowadays gets longer and longer (Dressrosa, Wholecake, Wano) and I would personally prefer shorter arcs and explore the vast mysterious sea of the New World (that was hyped up so much!) and find answers to all these mysteries you mentioned as we sail ahead in the Grand Line. Zou is the prime example of a great arc that I would love to see more often - mysterious island, worldbuilding, compact. So far the New World (as in the actual sea itself) does not live up to my expectations. When I saw the supernovas getting destroyed before the time skip, I thought the New World is really something else, even in terms of the natural catastrophes. But we never picked up on that again. And we only really explored 5 islands up until now in the New World.. I reckon Oda loves Wano, but I'm really at a point now.. I don't care what happens, just end the arc. The whole thing with the altered devil fruit: I'm not convinced. I fear it just sets up some overpowered stuff that wasn't necessary. But time will tell. That said, still love One Piece as a whole, though I really loved it more when arcs were more compressed. I'm currently rewatching One Piece, currently at Alabasta, and the pacing just feels right - granted, it's the anime and not the manga. Anime was only 39 episodes. I love how we got from island to island and really explored the oceans and learned something on every island in the earlier days of One Piece, something I would love to see again now that we're in the endgame.
The message I made didn't post and got deleted. My emotions are compromised now. Short form I agree and loved how you brought up the islands and the wonder not being the same as compared to pre timeskip. Only island that has filled me with wonder has been Zou
You're right. Oda loves Wano because it's the One Piece version of japan. naturally he wanted it to be _Special_ . But he overdid it. Why spend so much time to hype Oden, when he died 20 years ago? So far, we've had nearly zip on Roger+ White Beard aside fro bits and pieces. But with Wano it was "Oden, Oden, Oden, and OMG even MORE Oden". We're near the end and we still no nothing about the Void century, One Piece.ect. And now we have Kaido 2.0, But it's the good version. That kid was practically _given_ Kaido's powers.
I was struggling with writing stuff for my book. I thought I check out what you uploaded even if I don't care about One Piece. Btw, did you know One Piece was inspired by Kinnikuman? It's a good show for an 80th anime. Sadly didn't get a western release because stuff. But its sequel about the MCs son got adapted as Ultimate Muscle.
@@crymsondynaguy one thing about Kinnikuman. It started off as a parody of Ultraman before it became a Wrestling Based Manga/Anime. It can be considered the grandfather of shonen and even something like Naruto has some elements from it. Just in case you wonder "Why does the dude recommend me a gag manga/anime? I expected some serious action." Unless you start with Ultimate Muscle. The show is made in a way you can watch it wihtout any knowledge of the prior series and the things in the story were set up in a way where its reasonable why the old cast won't get major spotlight. I usually don't like the sequels with offsprings of the main character since they are not getting executed well usually.
I just remembered that we still haven't heard from Boa Hancock. What exactly happened to Sabo? Is Monkey D Dragon going to do anything at this point? Honestly, I don't know what to expect from One Piece. I don't hate it, I just want to know when it will end just so I can start reading it again. I'm just waiting for the return of Bleach lol
Feels like Oda is saving up a lot of characters for the final arc - Red Dog, Green Bull, Blue Pheasant, Yellow Monkey, Im, Dragon, Blackbeard, Scopper Gaban, Shanks, etc. All of them have done very little post-timeskip (in fact, Scopper hasn't even appeared yet). Oda is seriously addicted to extending his story. But it's not like he can utilise these characters outside of the few things they were actually planned to do so they're basically on the back burner for 95% of the story. At this point I'm expecting either Shanks or Dragon to get Igneel treatment. You're familiar with Natsu's dragon-dad from Fairy Tail, right? He was absent for 95% of the story with very few hints here and there and when he finally reunited with Natsu, he was killed off after only 15 chapters.
DUDE! I’ve been talking to myself about this. No one does anymore! Dalfmingo didn’t die even!!!! Kido is this massive guy who’s strong as fuck and can’t kill anyone!! It’s falling so off and the episodes reflect on the past so often to fill air time! HOW MANY TIMES DO WE NEED TO SEE LUFFY EAT HIS FRUIT AND SHANKS GET HIS ARM BIT OFF…and he has a daughter!? WHAT ABOUT BLACKBEARD!? HOLY SHIT WE STILL HAVE 20 more years of story building!
I swear i have watched both of your wano videos soooo many times and im still laughing ass shit your absolute right about this the best thing was ,,we are in the prensence of two emperors and nobody has died" im was laughing like shit
After seeing this clip, and missing out on a few major scenes from One Piece before the timeskip, I have a few questions that I'd like to ask: 1. Did the Celestial Dragons have any relevance to the main "plot" of the show? I know that they are related to the devil fruit in some way, but what is their relevance besides being stuckup super rich jerks? 2. Why has no one from the Straw Hats ever experienced a major character development moment? For example: Sanji has a "code" for not hitting women, and from what I've heard about the Cake arc, he was close to abandoning it altogether when he was betrayed by his supposed fiancee. Also, from what I've heard about the Wano arc, his "code" still causes problems for himself and his crewmates. I thought that even if he didn't abandon his stance on hitting women completely, he would come through and defend himself and his crew when push comes to shove. However, that didn't happen! I think that the series is interesting, but these issues, along with a few more, just kind of irk me. Am I wrong for asking these questions?
I ask the Same questions bro. I also ask why can’t Oda explain and show us things that matter to the story . Like where is vegapunk? Where did devil fruit come from? What happened in the void century? What’s a “joy boy”? Why can’t nobody die in the wano war ??

This is extreme,Oda has no idea of what he is doing.
Since Whole Cake i saw that tankman garbage with some obese Luffy throwing Cracker to smash a bunch of trees and i got enough.
I come to TH-cam and see this gear 5 thing and 🤦♂️
Total disaster and with so much goofy stuff and long pacing people will get tired of going through so much filler and the end might be bad too.
The real blackpill is realizing Oda is infinitely better at setup and hype than payoff. At least since Marineford lol.
You nailed it
Yes Oda is too smart for his own good. He ruined his own health because of that...
Well said
Exactly. Same thing with attack on titan
You'd think the country where the Poneglyphs were created would have a little bit more to offer lore-wise.
EXACTLY!! I’ve been saying this!!! We’re 20yrs into the show and oda is still trying to add mysteries!!! WE WANT ANSWERS NOW WTF
The Wano Arc is finished and I agree it was trash, Big Mom and Kaido got taken out by newbs while Whitebeard was taken out by the the entirety of the Marines and Blackbeard and his Crew.
And whitebeard didn't even have haki
Fr the potential of this arc was wasting sooo bad. I was expecting something like planning on weaken Kaido and fight smartly instead of just jumping in face to face, becuz of that they have to use too much plot amour
Oda’s powerscalling has always been horrible inconsistent so as far as that aspect I’m not surprised
@@Wusarufulhe had haki bro don’t do this 😭😭
Am I overreacting? I feel like One Piece is ruined. The writing was so horrible
every arc after the timeskip has been very repetitive and overstretched. fights have been underwhelming, even the characters have been one-dimensional.
Let's agree to just completely agree.
You drive a tough bargain, but I will accept your terms.

So long as it doesn't get more ridiculous than the decisions made in this arc I'll be okay but they've crossed the line a few too many times this arc. Can't bare anymore
I gave up as soon as big mam arc was trash
It has me worried about elbaf since people have been saying it's gonna be bigger and better than wano since we're gonna see the other straw hats improve with their goals and powers. Yet I, for the life of me, can't think of a single way a bunch of giants with swords and axes is gonna help ussop dressrosa was the best shot I see for ussop getting stronger
Starting to? I suffered through wano until the rebel gang was bawing their eyes out on the shore. Well, he DID attack the main base of the Revolutionaries but Oda decided to off-screen that.

And of course Luffy fell into the ocean next to Law's submarine and gets a plotarmor chosen one power up

Agreed, the whole cake island arc is miles better than wano country:
- They played it "safe" (Feudal Japan settings, Took away almost any pirate thing about OP, Samurai thing, Tyrant shogun, a lot of feudal japanese stereotype)
- Lack of enemy diversity in first half and showered us too quickly in Onigashima, not giving many enemies backstory as much as other arcs.
- Stretched too long, tbh since the kozuki oden flashback that turned out i don't really liked him than any younger characters around him at his time and how long-ass luffy try to reach kaido combined with a lot of breaks. This arc should not be this long
- Kaido just pure evil, almost no depths as villain. He just got the looks. He fell in category of Mermaid Island Saga that category of wasted villain and settings
- CP0 didn't have anything to do with Kaido forces and he's there or not really not make any differences
- I really want to see tank man normal version or other gear 4th version, but instead we got gear 5th JoyBoy version that honestly is bad in design. It literally just supersaiyan with gooey hair and shiny golden white outfits. No uniques form that have strong/weakness like gear 4th. Oda really let me down this time
- Also idk, the power of Sun god Nika is kinda betraying the simple one piece powers.
Which is the greatest fight representations in One Piece ever
Finally it's over, the final battle isn't as good as we all hyped for.
(Ex: Kid said big moom just has strong defence but not undefeatable, I think by then Kid will take BM down by break her defence, but BM hit by Law to the ground in next chapters)
2. Every one in Luffy sides cannot be defeated, not only main character such as Luffy and Zoro, but Kimemon and Draker as well
3. Most of Kaido sides was taken down because of their silly or accident (Ex:BM, Queen, Page One, Ulti)
4. Weird picture cut

Facts
Death is an important part of any good story. The fact that no characters die, is just bad. It makes everything have no consequence. It's about time people started to wake up.
Yep it’s a basic story concept that death is important for many reason. In one piece it could be used to enhance a villains presence as a threat or pending danger, it could also give value to a character or redeem a character, then you have also away to give value to that characters purpose & reason for being in the story such as character development & improving the story, then finally you have the option of giving high stakes to the story which is realism.
And the only excuse oda has for this is « because he likes his characters so he doesn’t want them to die » 💀
To be honest it is nice to see someone criticizing the anime without making the people look like idiots for liking the anime in the first place .
some characters really need to die in the final arc. its not just "oh killing characters thats cool haha" but at this point its ridiculous how high the stakes are and how barely anyone has died
The list of garbage in wano is too big to write out but holy crap was this whole thing a disappointment overall.

And the fight scenes with okiku and kinemon against kanjuro had amazing writing and character development only for kanjuro to be resurected 2 times for no reason except for onigashima to explode like wtf did Oda do I didn’t know he liked this character that much
If Oda actually confims later on in the series that Luffy is actually the Sun God Nika and Zoro is a descendant of some special clan of wano, my rating for the show will drop a lot. I think Oda is anti-Japan for real. He doesn't love his culture and almost every Japanese themed characters of this arc are terrible 😢
Thankfully, Egghead has been nothing but straight fire so far.
No tension and Gear 5 Goofy God ruined it
At this point, I’m convinced Oda is totally writing himself into a corner with overwhelming number of plot threads that we’ll never get an answer.
How was it pointless ?

I'm also annoyed cause I thought Wano was going to be a good focus arc for Zoro like Wholecake kind of was for Sanji but... nope.
Kinda agree with you brother on this. My reasons:
No kaido backstory

No Zoro character development
Ignored Ryuma

Ussop n Brook did nothing.

@@crymsondynaguy once starting the journey, we need to get to the tale's end. Hopefully looking back and laughing too, like Roger.

"I can't leave this Earth until I know the end of this show"
Berserk fans said the same thing.
The worst part was Law literally *struggled* against Doflamingo and he somehow owns Big Mom. Smh

I watched every other arc in its entirety, but Wano just made me rage. Long ass fuck for no reason.
Not to mention Wano arc straight up ruined some build-ups from previous arcs (Zoro and Ryuma connection, Luffy challenges Big Mom, etc)
One Piece really lost its charm since Wano arc
I do not care what your opinion and reasons are, if you seriously think Wano is a worse are than Fishmen Island, Thriller Bark or Punk Hazard you are simply insane and can not be taken seriously.
You just called urself a blind Goda fan lol
Idk man, I don't feel you are worthy of being taken seriously.
Holy shit, I didn’t realise a video like this even existed
And it’s not been nuked by the OP community??
1:21 Dawg this had me crying 😂 you might be my new favorite anime TH-camr
ngl i did feel that some parts in wano were really slow and dragged out, which will suck more ass for the anime watchers.
Sabo slander will not be tolerared.
Sabo is more competent than Ace thats for sure lmao.
I swear, oda once said something along the lines of "if Luffy beats a strong character with one punch it would be bad" idk if it's true but if it's, then kaido is a victim.
Hito hito no mi : model n!gga
Worst asspull in fiction
But did they.. Subvert your expectations??? 😄
@Sex'' Allatus Angelus To surprise people
There is an argument to be made that beings will overuse resources, leading Thanos to consider taking out half the universe, which would have been a better choice.
And also I don’t know if I am the only one thinking this but every time shinobu talks about mature girls being hot I cringe so hard 😭

Never heard of it until you enlightened me I'll check some of it out.
I expected some serious action."
Unless you start with Ultimate Muscle. The show is made in a way you can watch it wihtout any knowledge of the prior series and the things in the story were set up in a way where its reasonable why the old cast won't get major spotlight.
I usually don't like the sequels with offsprings of the main character since they are not getting executed well usually.

There is no way Boa is losing lmao. Oh wait "plot".
After seeing this clip, and missing out on a few major scenes from One Piece before the timeskip, I have a few questions that I'd like to ask:
