Now I found a TH-cam channel that analysis bollywood movies 😢😢I hope you continue forever coz there's alot of people who needs some information like this thnkyuuuu soo much ❤ 😊
If u notice even the younger sister understands Simran. She recognizes Raj as the better choice for her sister and even tries to help during the karvachauth scene. Also she immediately reads Kuljeet and puts him and his friends in their place when they sort of misbehave with her.
As an American who has only recently discovered Bollywood, I truly appreciate your videos. I want to learn everything I can, and I hope you continue for years to come. I've been watching 2 or 3 new Indian films each week. I started with every movie mentioned in "The Romantics" and have branched off from there. I would love to see a video(s) on recommendations of what I should be watching!
Hey! I'm a french girl that just discovered your channel, and that video was really interesting ! It has not been long since I first watched bollywood movies and, I regret it because it is so good...Your video are very well realized and it is a pleasure to listen to you!
I'm not Indian, but seeing the love Raj had for his country despite probably never having been there made me cry. It may not have been a vocal point of the film, but as a second gen. immigrant, seeing a character who is very much a Westerner still connected with and loving his culture made me happy
Adding to Simran's agency, I love that the moment that sets Simran and Raj's romance into action, and encourages Simran to seek her independence, is the moment she drinks alcohol. Raj doesn't push her to after the initial offer, and even though the film shows that she does it to warm up, it's still her choice to drink the alcohol. I love that she alone makes that choice to really set the film in motion
I see a Bollywood-focused youtuber, I click subscribe! I’m an Indonesian born in the early 90s so I grew up watching Bollywood movies dominating Indonesian TV. As a 30something woman now, watching them analyzed like this is a treat!
Oh DDLJ love this movie so much ❤ since the first time I saw it I can't stop watching it, it's the first time that a movie has marked me so much since the first time I saw My Name is Khan with the iconic couple of SRKajol, for me it is the best movie I have ever seen in my life. Although I am going through a stage where I am trying to forget those bad moments that once affected and are interfering in my life, like forgetting someone who never reciprocated my love, I must admit that every time I see this wonderful movie DDLJ it gives me hope that one day I will find the right person who is willing to love me, care for me and accept me as I am like the love 💘 between Raj and Simran, even if years go by, I will never lose hope that one day 🙏 I can find true love. LONG LIVE THIS WONDERFUL, LONG LIVE THE ICONIC COUPLE OF SRK AND KAJOL, WHO AS ALWAYS NAIL IT, I HOPE THEY COLLABORATE TOGETHER AGAIN, I WILL MISS SEEING THEM TOGETHER A LOT💛 🙌 I send you all a lot of love from an Ecuadorian, fan girl of Bollywood and SRKAJOL, born in Spain 🇪🇸🇪🇨❤🇮🇳
This was such a great video! Just came across your channel through your instagram's Bollywood outfit color series and watched a bunch of your videos so far. Love it, so interesting. While I have watched Bollywood films for 15 years, as a Black American, I miss much of the cultural context. As a child of an immigrant, I find social and cultural identity formation (especially through language usage, dress, and food) an interesting topic so DDLJ and K3G 2nd acts are really curious to me to watch. Looking forward to watching more.
Omggg thank you for watching and this kind comment - I appreciate you!!! Comments like these def keep me motivated to continue 💛💛 thank you again for the support!
Ddlj is huge but Titanic is bigger than ddlj. The budget of Titanic was far much bigger than DDLJ and it’s a intricately made masterpiece. That English guy that you quoted in the beginning of the video, forgot to mention titanic.
Since you are a fan of the film, I am curious as to what your opinions are to people who say that DDLJ is "sexist" and "regressive." I am just curious because this can feel like a double edged sword sometimes.

4:15 Great choice. Also, she dedicates it to her husband who was dancing 8n the theatre when ‘Tujhe Dekha’ was playing.
It’s not the best movie ever made BUT it has interesting moments. Farida Jalal is the MVP of the movie.

I thought Raj being played by Tom Cruise was widely known! I still prefer NRI Raj lol
