I’ll share a bit of why I love Shahrukh. My first exposure to him was My Name is Khan. I remember having Juhi Chawla’s first impression of him. I did not find him physically attractive. Years later I decided to give Bollywood another try. Watched DDLJ since I liked Kajol. Did not like SRK. First part of the film, he’s still unlikable to me. Second half, he’s slowly growing on me. I watch that film a few times, and all I can think is, while he’s not conventionally handsome, there’s just something about him. The dimpled smile had a lot to do with it. After, I explore more of his films. He’s so alluring. Baazigar’s visceral ending blows me away. I’m thinking, who is this guy?? He can be sweet doe-eyed and romantic then maniacal impish and terrifying. Then I watch other films. Can’t get enough of his whole look and versatility. He’s astounding. I watch Dil Se, and I’m smitten for life. But watching him slice his hand on a sword for Mahima in Pardes, I remember my heart skipped 3 beats. I was used to seeing selfish portrayals of love. I see a Christ-like portrayal of love in his films; unselfish, sacrificial to the point of death as in Dil Se. That open arm pose is very Christ-like too. So while I had a problem with him stalking Manisha in Dil Se, his sacrifice at the end redeemed him in my eyes. I ain’t ever seen the western actors pull that sort of stuff off on film. 🤣 Certainly not in those Spanish soap operas either. SRK reinvented romance, where macho was a turn off and vulnerable masculinity came to the forefront as a secret in a woman’s heart in regard to the many things she desires in a man.
I recently re-discovered him, but now I’m watching films like KANK, and my goodness. He broke the SRK mold with that Dev character. That toxic stuff aside, his vulnerable masculinity was there, like in that famous rain scene where he says to Maya that his leg hurts. That whole look in his eyes, the torment, pain, vulnerability. Wow. And sensual to boot. To me, that just made me respect him more and see him as an actor, not a Bollywood heartthrob superstar. SRK is an institution, that any one looking to build any kind of brand would benefit from learning from him. So while I enjoyed him for that smile and charisma, boyish glowy appearance, he’s too deep and intense, like peeling an onion. KHNH had me crying rivers. The neck sniff? I remember thinking how sensual that was, how refreshing, as a westerner used to watching actors push all the envelope, here was a man who was making romance romantic with these so-called neck sniffs 😅 the open arms pose? Man, that’s genius. Very open vulnerable and generous. How could he not end up being a thief and king of hearts? He has his winning formula down pat. Those eyes are so intense and expressive, and the crying, he even cries pretty. But I respect his skill and craft far more now. I think calling it charisma cheapens his magnificence. Then there’s the tender and respectful way he treats the mother of his love interest. Boy was that something to see, like in Deewana, Veer Zara, DDLJ. What mother in law wouldn’t want SRK as a son in law? 😂The fact that he’s not afraid to cry, show so much with his eyes, cartwheel, slide on blocks of ice, dance on cars, dance on trains, get smacked by a woman’s hair, wave the pashmina like a banner of love (Dil Se), he’s not afraid to be vulnerable, soft, tender and just plain authentic, uninhibited, visceral, terrifying like in Baazigar and Darr. That’s what still grabs me. I don’t consider him the Tom Cruise of Bollywood, but the Shahrukh Khan of Bollywood. He’s magnificent.
That was long but the SRK lovers I’m sure will enjoy my why ❤

It's completely true that he set the bar so high. Not only for Indian girls but worldwide, and it's so satisfying to see him, either as an actor and a common man, to act coherent to what he tries to portray. My first SRK movie was My name is Khan and I fell in love with him ❤

I think there's nothing new that has been done in Jawaan with the all-women crew plotline. After all, we saw him in Chak De! India and realized his potential when he is surrounded by women, respecting their capabilities. But it is commendable that he keeps choosing such stories and making it a commercially viable trope (loosely used, no negative connotation).
Shah Rukh Khan appears to have a gentle sensitivity that doesn't mind encroaching borders for the betterment of the situation (whether it be pushing the hockey players to their limit in CD! etc.). Also, he often plays characters that are emotionally divergent from the major macho masculine vibes: he cries, he laughs, he teases, he gives you a makeover, he worships you, he's a family man, he strives for a good relationship with his and your parents. And most importantly he plays characters who can say sorry and actually mean it.

I remember when i was a kid, used to watch 80s/90s films and men used to always be shown as this hyper alpha, indestructible force of nature types . . . but srk introduced me to a more softer, kinder, more vulnerable masculinity. . he used cry, get beaten up a bit more than other heroes in his action sequences, do kitchen work in films. . even love stories in those days used to be rebellious. lets run away bhaag chalte hain types . . . srk was the first one to say "main bhagane nahi aya. . bauji khud tumhara haat mujhe denge". . . . i felt so liberated (ironic to be saying it as a man). . i was like. . I like this guyy. . THIS is my mann

I lovedThe Romantics and I can't thank Yash and Aditya Chopra enough for convincing him that he was a Romance guy. Like Yash uncle said it's his eyes, they are not meant to be doing action movies. Love SRK forever ❤

My most favourite Shah Rukh Movie will always be Om Shanti Om. It was the first SRK film that I remember watching in 5th grade. The vulnerable, emotional, calm, ardent lover- Om Kapoor healed my heart and sealed it even before this small child even knew of the word heartbreak. He came and caught me off guard and swept me off my feet. He will be always remembered in my heart for the role that he played and for the fact he is a woman’s man in life (as in outside films) as well.

For me, his on screen portrayal of romance didn't set the high standers of love but it fulfilled it.
I only watched american movies befor, and they can do really good romance movies to. But when I watched Koyla for the first time, and saw Shah Rukh Khan for the first time and Madhuri Dixit. I was amazed, I had never seen love expressed like that before and it felt right. I could see the love in his eyes and it was pure. It wasn't just lust and so on. It was the songs and the hugs and comfort and protection they gave eachother. I could feel thier love without them making out and so on. I wish more movies where made like this, I love a lot of his movies but Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is definitely one of my favorites.

Love SRK. From his romance films to his films where he played villains that made me scared and terrified with his performance. I remember watching Darr, SRK’s performance as a villian was scary for me to watch like can we talk about his evil laugh from Bazziagar and Darrr cus that gave me nightmares after watching those.

I have watched most of Shah Rukh Khan's movies and love each and everyone one of them. My favourites are Dil Se, Kal ho na ho, K3G, DDLG, Veer Zara, Jab tak hai jaan , Rab ne bana di jodi, Swades, Paheli, Fan.
His acting is amazing and versatile. I think I have never seen someone who can portray emotions through eyes like him. Whenever he has tears in eyes, I start crying so hard. His neck sniff is more intimate than a kissing. I wish I could find someone like Shahrukh in real life. The way he looks at his leading ladies is mesmerizing. Can't forget his cute dimples too❤❤

I saw him in one of the first ddlj episodes and I said, this is what I see, he is experiencing the most perfect masculine love a woman could ask for, I saw my Lord in him and I believe that everyone who loves him thinks the same. He is so perfect that he can convey emotions to people in every centimeter and every point of his face. has been created with care. the most beautiful of creation. Shah Rukh Khan has taken romance to the highest level and raised my expectations in real life, but the truth is that I would not want to have such a love affair with any other man, he is number one in women's hearts with all his different features. My only wish in heaven💞

Through out this video I felt like there can be parallels between women's love for Pride and Prejudice to that of Dilwale Dulhaniya le jaenge. Obviously they are quite distinct and the cultural and period nuances came into play. But we compare the notions of I don't need to fix him, he will fix himself while having grey female characters, is one i can think of.
