I prefer the wood with antiques, but you have a real talent with your flips! :)
Use painter's tape, doubled onto itself about a third of the length, and stuck to the inside of doors/drawers to give you 'tabs' that will allow you a handle of sorts to reopen same.

Or, worst-case scenario, you can always carefully insert a screwdriver into one of the hardware holes and pull the drawer open that way too.
Great! Something that is not black,gray or white. That original brown is perfect for that dresser and the green color gives it a gorgeous finish in a not so trite dark green.
Black, grey or white is all that will sell where i live. LOL
My husband has a small battery powered leaf blower, I comes in handy after sanding, then I wipe everything off.

Teachers shouldn't have student loan debt 💯 If our government prioritized teachers according to their true value, you could be spending that money on a hard earned vacay! Bless all the teachers 🙏👍
Really good teachers are rare.
@@tamivega6225 what does "some" teachers being lazy have to do with them being underpaid? An ADN nurse makes 2x ( or more) than a teacher that has a more advanced degree. Nurses deserve that high pay even though there are some lazy/crappy ones. Teachers deserve the same.
@@Deangirl86 What a strange idea. Why should poor teachers be protected? It is the children that suffer. Should we, for the children's sake, require competence? Neither nurses nor teachers are angels.
Teachers, nurses and other types of careers should not have to be saddled with decades of student debt.

For drawers that rely on a wood on wood rail (instead of a track) I have a giant block of beeswax I got from Amazon really cheap to coat where the wood rubs against wood

So cool to see you branching out into more "artistic" projects. I'm currently working on a couple of old beat up dressers, and the plan is to use Hampton Olive in the Silk line and keep the top and the top row of drawers the natural wood color since it has some cool oak veneer patterns on them. I'm not sure how it will look in the natural color, so I may end up staining it. So, it was kind of cool seeing you do something that's a similar color/wood palette.

I absolutely LOVE this piece. I'm always looking for a vintage buffet to refinish but they're not easy to find at a reasonable price in my area. Love the color. The original hardware really makes this piece definitely look vintage. I like to use the original hardware on my pieces because I think it gives it a aged look. Thanks for a great video !!
Amazing its so beautiful! Literally watched this a second time because after watching this in April - my bro & I literally found something VERY SIMILAR a vintage buffet on the curb on garbage day!!!! :) Thinking of painting it all black but I think something like this with having the legs and the top painted with some varnish will look good - Lauren will definitely be sending you a pic soon when we start the project. We are thinking of keeping it!
So glad to see this video! I have my grandmothers buffet and table and chairs. The finish on the buffet has gotten so dark and worn in areas. I have thought about painting it, but I had never thought about making it dark! Great idea! And great job!

I love this. I had a piece like that years ago. Had to get rid of it because of downsizing If I had known it could have been made that beautiful ... I might have figured out how to get in in the new place.

Started with a small mirror w/shelf, sold for $25!
Doing wooden lamps now. Saving the biggest for last, a huge 6 1/2 ft tall bookcase that narrows as it goes up. Kinda stumped on what to do with it. It's all wood and extremely heavy!
Any and all ideas are definitely welcome!

I have rubbed a wax candle or a bar of soap along the edges of a sticky drawer.....quick and easy fix.

Those metal medallions on the front just pop off so you don't have to paint over them.
You should try the gilding wax over the hardware to make it pop.
Check out Kacha, she is the queen of gilding wax.

I watched the video where Kacha refinishes an almost identical buffet to this one. She did no prep work except for cleaning, no sanding etc. the end result looked amateurish to me. Lauren is in another league and her work is of a much higher quality.
@@yvettemorley2054 Lauren is a basic furniture painter. Kacha is a furniture artist. Their styles are completely different.

I love watching your videos. I’m learning a lot by viewing them. That buffet piece turned out beautifully. When I seen you open that dark container of green-grey paint I said, “Oh! No.” Though, I’ve never seen you do a bad piece yet. So, once again you were right in your color choice. That green-grey was perfect for this beautiful buffet. You do amazing work & your definitely blessed with an amazing gift of restoring old furniture & bringing them back to life.❤️
I used a liquid wax to finish my gray stained table top with just a rag and it was super easy.
Funny how I just bought collard greens for a project BUT was afraid that it'd be too green. ..But that buffet looks awesome....so thank you Miss Lauren 🤩👍 ...Now I know how to Make it look awesome. . Stain the top and paint body. Ur the BEST. Stay blessed

Hey Lauren..so here's what I do with my Dixie belle gel stain applicator...is I Put in a ziplock sandwich bag and put it on freezer Door... because it's oil based it won't freeze or dry out so long as you keep in zippy and when done in freezer on door....I take it out about 1 hour before use just so it warms up. .but it's never freezed on me and it always works perfectly... hope this is helpful too...stay blessed 🤗
