Nice test and edge! A proper convex almost seems to protect its own edge.

Yeah I was surprised, I thought it would have something cause it's pretty thin. That slight convexing works awesome .

      Thanks ,
I was pretty surprised that it didn't get any rolls on my first reprofile on it. It's nice to not have to go back and redo it.
That Brakimo has a really good heat treatment. I know the batoning doesn't look like much, but that plumb tree wood has ruined some of my edges in the past.
The knots are like glass , even if you try carving the hard parts it can rip a zero scandi up. That tiny but of convexing on a strop does wonders for a thin edge .
      Thanks for the comments 👍

I love how that knife looks. My question is do you believe it’s worth the price? I haven’t had a good experience with tops. Many TH-cam videos all praise tops. My experience has been bad grinds super thick horrible cutter. The one saving factor the handle was nice. Gave both away. Really the prices for most of their stuff in 1095 just seems ridiculous. I don’t know maybe I’m just get old and sounding like my father and grandfather did when I was a kid. Lol
    Nice test and video bro.

I do like the Brakimo, BUT it's too thick, overbuilt, and unnecessary. I like some Tops blades, but they make their bevels too thick. The Brakimo is right on that border of being a great knife, but the handle really leaves ya wanting.
They do have a knife that I think hit the mark, and thats the Dragonfly 4.5. It has the same big bevel and belly as the Brakimo, but it's a much thinner blade. I do plan on getting one when I can afford it.

You do some beautiful edges my friend!
I think the Brakimo is a better knife than their BOB. Both are decent knives, but I really like my Brakimo better than my BOB.

      Agreed ,
I have my eye on their Dragonfly 4.5. It's basically the same grind but it's a thinner stock of steel , I think 3mm .
I think it could be the perfect blade and the handle is really nice.
Tops is now selling them with their leather dangler sheath instead of that crappy nylon thing. That's the only reason I didn't get it over the Brakimo , sheaths are important.
      Thanks man

@@airiksknifereviews9548 hmm..interesting. We seem to have very similar taste in knives, as the d-fly is riding near the top of my wish list as well lol.

Do you have a video on how you use sandpaper to reprofile your edges? Great job on this knife.
