The Dorchester Collection is a company affiliated with the Brunei Investment Authority (BIA), which owns and operates luxury hotels and is headquartered in London, England.
The company was founded in London, England in 1981, and in 1987, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the King of Brunei, purchased the Dorchester Hotel and the Beverly Hills Hotel, and in 1991 transferred ownership to the Brunei Investment Authority. In 1996, the Brunei Investment Authority established the Audley Group, which later became the Dorchester Group, to manage these hotels. Later, in November 2006, the name was changed to the current "Dorchester Collection" and rebranded.
The Dorchester Collection currently owns nine luxury hotels, including The lana, which opened in Dubai in February 2024.
The lana hotel in Dubai is located in the vibrant Business Bay area beside Dubai Creek, a 25-minute drive from Dubai International Airport. Downtown, including Burj Khalifa, is a 20-minute walk away.
There are a total of eight restaurants and bars, four of which are supervised by three Michelin star chefs: modern Mediterranean cuisine "Riviera'', rooftop bar "High Society'', Basque cuisine "Jara'', and patisserie "BonBon Cafe''.
Other facilities available include Txakolina, a cigar lounge, Veranda bar, The Gallery, which serves afternoon tea, and Bitter Honey, a casual bar located in the lobby.
The UAE's first Dior Spa opened in April on the 29th floor. There are 5 treatment rooms and 1 couples suite available.
The exterior design of The lana Hotel was done by the British architectural design organization Foster + Partners, while the interior design was done by the Parisian designer duo Gilles & Boissier.
The Dorchester Collection will open its first hotel in Asia in 2028 on the 53rd to 58th floors of Torch Tower, a skyscraper that is being constructed in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo and will be the tallest building in Japan at a height of 385 m.

What a beautiful hotel! That room rate made me do a double-take but obviously, luxury property. Definitely some awesome mix of classic decor infused with modern style together. That skyline view though, man. Wow. Thanks for taking the time to make this!
Very chic and elegant hotel. They have indeed taken the branding issue into every detail.
The lobby was very stylish. Using Italian marmour is not very unique, but the way they have used, is well thought. The design used is general is high class, to the last detail.
I guess for affluent ppl who love this type of luxury, this hotel is a very good choice.
For us others, the value for money thinkers, this can be bit overpriced.

Thank you sir for another wonderful hotel Vlog. You do this better than anyone else on TH-cam. Roughly $55 U.S. for a double cheeseburger? LOL I was surprised at how inexpensive the sides and starters were for the meal but the lobster was insanely expensive for the amount you got. Again, thank you for your wonderful cinematography and detailed description of the Lana Dorchester Dubai.

The Lana and new One Only, which one do you personally prefer?
As for the rooms, both rooms are of the same standard, but I prefer The Lana as it has a view of the river. As for restaurants, One&Only One Za'abeel is nice with more options and The Link where these restaurants are located has a great atmosphere. As for the pools, both infinity pools are great.

In terms of design, One&Only One Za'abeel, which is said to be "The world's longest cantilever," has a higher impact. It's hard to choose which one is better overall. However, looking at the reviews on Google, Booking com, and Tripadvisor, it seems that The Lana has slightly higher satisfaction rates.

There are beautiful golden fixtures in the pool showers, but not in the bathrooms of the rooms. Completely absurd. The bathrooms are totally lackluster.

If I had to choose the top 3, they would be Burj Al Arab, Atlantis The Royal, and Atlantis The Palm. Although it is not popular among the videos on my channel, I also like the desert resort called Al Maha.
