Is Miller going to make double wire feeder? I weld pipe in field. It would be nice to have when you mig root and flux core out. So you don't waste time changing between feeders.
Can you guys try to RMD some stainless pipe? I’ve asked every major welding TH-cam page there is and I’m hoping you guys could come through for a long time viewer.
The machine has a stainless option you can choose. Just add the type of stainless you would need and run a 90 argon 10 co2 mix. No need to purge the pipe. Setting are determined by the size and thickness of the pipe. RMD works great. I hope this helps until they post avideo.
More argon would definitely help with cleaning but I’ve used as much as 75/25 mix on the root and passed X-ray. I wouldn’t recommend that since I did it by accident. Use whatever is recommended by the manufacturer. The shop i was working out off used 90/10 on the root hard wire for 308 and 75/25 on the cap for the flux core stainless. I passed every X-ray.
Nothing against lincoln but the miller 400 pipe Worxx is a more friendly machine than the Lincoln counter part machine(s). I’m a union welder and Ive ran both, but to get up and and get right to welding .... the Miller is the machine hands down. Both machine put out a nice weld. But it’s that user friendly that sets the Miller apart for me. I’m a pipeline Rig welder and I run the Miller 350d with the Mitsubishi engine..... lighter, quieter and a more consistent machine I have found. Easily can adapt to my wirefeeder . and Tig welding off of the machine is just as smooth if not smoother than a shop machine. I have the Miller wireless remote too which is a great feature, one less cord to run off the truck out to the ditch. Lincoln is great too but Miller has really stepped up there game these last few years. I see some die hard Lincoln guys running these Millers now on their own Rig trucks too. Gotta say, great job miller !!
we had Miller at one of the fab shops I worked in as a fitter and they had to upgrade, and purchased a smart feeder and it basically worked so well it "took the fun out" of welding. lol. very little effort needed for root fill and cover. I'm not an expert in machines but the welder who got this in his booth was gitty like a kid on Christmas.

You're doing mig, why are you talking about key-holing.. 6 Years of combo welding experience here and only thing I've had to keyhole was tig and stick.

I run a Pipeworx Miller 400. I was just using the RMD today. It definitely doesn’t push through penetration as well as tig in my experience.

Alex A what kind of wire you were using I tried 316 LSI but it ended having sugar on the root

Using these out on a kiewit job in Illinois. Miller makes welding pipe dummy proof with these machines
