Absolute truth. To this day I still have trouble convincing those kinds of people that it was so much more than what you saw on the surface. Paul Verhoven was such an amazing director in those days. And it's no secret now that the cast and crew were utterly miserable while filming it, but the end result speaks for itself. Often you get the most creative work out of adversity and hardship.

Basil Poledouris was generational at best. You won't see genius like that again for quite some time. He not only knew how to make amazing music, but he knew how to make amazing music that was the backbone of a fantastic movie. Robocop, or Conan for that matter, would not have been nearly as good with someone else doing the music. Fact.

It was Gore, Raw, sad, bloody, sarcastic, violent (Of course, all of that i get it years after that first momment)... We loved it!... It was simply perfect. Honestly, the part where the guy gets covered in chemicals and then is hollering/moaning/screaming while his skin is no longer hanging on to his meat fucking me up bad. The practical effects were amazing, and the guys acting really made me thing we wasn't having a great day

"Dead or alive you're comming with me" This music brings me all those wonderful memories from this movie and his epic score! How lucky were all of those who had the chance to view this amazing movie at theaters listening this score in that amazing surround!
Because back then people worked for free, trying to create something great from not a so big movie budget, took hard work and long hours trying to make a Directors dream come true or vision for it. Same with games, a bunch of guys sitting in a basement programming something they believe in or having fun doing. Today they just throw 100s of millions creating garbage.

RoboCop is the modern day Conan and I think it's amazing how Basil Poledouris developed both films with magnificent scores! You can definitely hear a little Conan in RoboCop.

It's amazing on so many levels that I might not have realised as a kid, but even when I was a kid I thought the music in Robocop was fantastic... Robocop is to be a satire of the time it was made. A movie in the style of the original would not fit the current time. While we still have some of the issues we had in the 80's, we have some different ones now.
The Basil Poledouris score was one the main reasons I watched this film 5 straight times on VHS the day after watching it with my dad for the first time as a 13-year-old. It smells like justice!

god how do i miss the days of old..where a catchy theme was mandatory for a hero or villain.. listen carefully men..these were the days that belonged to masters of music.. i grew up with robocop,terminator,rambo and other silly actions movies..but with awesome soundtracks..
