- I'm showing how you can use slides as an overlay in your presentations. This allows you to layer your slides over your camera, showing yourself with the slides.

Your videos are so well made with a level of prodution that exceeds the quality of broadcast TV! You also show You also explain your content succinctly using a very pleasing affect and given me some excellentt ideas to improve my existing scene quality and incorporate new features. Excellent tutorials!
This has been so helpful! I wanted a way to bring in lower thirds to our church live stream, rather than full frame screen-sharing from keynote, and this is the clearest advice! Thank you!
Actually you made my day. salute.♥
I'm a big fan of this channel. Fantastic content for online professionals.
This is very helpful, for exactly the reasons you mentioned. A quick and easy way to add slides while I'm learning OBS. I also appreciated that you're covering OBS in your videos and showing the steps. Thank you, Cat! =)
You blew my mind!
thanks for this helpful video!! Your audio was a little low, happened to me until recently I set my mic at plus 10 db in obs and it's a game changer
Excellent work. Thank you.
Love your content!!! Greetings from Costa Rica!! Love your beautiful smile while recording!! Keep your great work and thanks!!!!!
I had OBS a dozen years ago. I never used it because it didn't do much. I tried it again recently. Now, OBS is a valuable tool. This speaker is a bit too stuck on Apple, but otherwise she's not bad.
Thanks for covering OBS, all your videos are really helpful and well explained. Thanks to you I am now using OBS, NDI, green screen, slides as overlays, etc. I still have to get on Notion, but hey! One step at a time ;)
Absolutely wonderful!!Cat you are so natural in explaining each thing.I just luv the way you present everything.I hav learned a lot from ur videos.Thanx a lot Dear.keep up the good work
AWESOME VIDEO, THANKS!
I luv the way you give tips... :)
So helpful! I need to rethink how I do my slides. Thank you!
You're so welcome! Let me know how it goes 😊
This looks interesting. I will definitely look into it. New to OBS, so I would have benefited from a bit more step by step, but will likely re-watch and try side by side. I have a 32 in 4K monitor so that should help with the one screen method.
This was really a great idea! Will try asap. Thanks Cat!
Have fun with it!
Excellent video, thank you. I am just getting started and you are a big help. I have two questions: wouldn't it be better to crop out the whole (or most of the) green-screen part, so you could animate the transition into the scene (like a pop-out from the side)? When you have the pop-out from the side, have you thought about moving the windo your in, centering yourself between the edge of the screen and the edge of the slide?
You are the best!
Wow, Cat. You do make it look super simple! Nice demo even though I'm a PC guy and not on a Mac!
Thanks, Paul! I try 😉
Thanks for this tutorial! I will be using this technique in my upcoming game streams!
Glad it was helpful!
So smart! Thanks a lot
Glad it was helpful!
Really creative wouldn't have thought of the use of chroma key for this, thanks Cat!
Happy to help!
Oh my god you won my heart ❤
I'm a big fan of the approach of using my Keynote as a screenshare overlay and myself in a camera overlay rather than as a source in an Ecamm scene. I can set up anywhere from one to threehundy scenes that allow me to move my head wherever I need it and not having to dodge sidebars or deal with weird panning. Big, small, full screen, insets, keynote as the inset...all the options. Maybe you recorded this was Ecamm didn't have those features but it's my go-to now!
You are right! I recorded this before the overlay update (and before you could stretch beyond the borders of Ecamm).
yes it's a good idee and so simple
Interestingly based on one of your previous videos about GoodNotes and slides, I created a Keynote presentation, exported as a PDF, imported it into GoodNotes and was able to use all the GoodNotes tools when I brought my iPad in to ECAMM as a camera.
What a smart idea! Did you like it?
@@CatMulvihill was a thing of beauty! :-)
Excellent video. I have subscribed to examm live. Do you know if it can also do source crop similar to OBS?
Another question. I don't seem to have enough independent monitor locations. In Keynote if I figured out a way to run two ghosts monitors one on HDMI and another on USB-C, How do I Tell the slide show to go to the one on HDMI and the notes to go to the one on USB Still allowing me to have Ecamm on primary monitor. Write now my Keynote slide notes are on primary and slde show is on the secondary. I have not place to see for a "confidence" feed or see what is cued up next ready for "over the air"? Trying to come up with a better work flow for a combination producer / talent(?) arrangement. At the TV station we had about 5 different people doing all of this. I just have me.
Terrific video. I used it in my first channel video
That's so great! Hope it went well.
nice Cat, very helpful :)
Good tips. Had to turn on the Closed Caption because I couldn't hear you, but good tips.
Great walkthrough Cat, wish only there were time for short Q & A in the chatt maybe. I get it if this is your concept of livestreaming, just my 2c :-)
Happy to do a Q&A!
Hi, do you know how I would overlay a previously recorded zoom with a slideshow of pictures only?
Helpful..
You are looking beautiful aslo😍
At my church we use powerpoint slides in our live stream. We’ll make the slide full screen for a few seconds and then we’ll make it onto the bottom of the screen so you can see the speaker still. Is there a way to do this in OBS?
Hi Alicia
Just create 2 separate scenes in OBS.
One that share slides full screen and another where you adjust the shared slide size to the one you like and add your virtual cam.
During livestream you just switch between scenes to get the appearence you want.
Quite easy and looks great.
Good luck
/Stefan
really interesting. Spend more time on the actual set up. very interested
Thank you. Much appreciated
Is it possible to do this if I am presenting from an iPad ?
Hiii... Does the screen green automatically added in the presentation slides ???
Also i am new to you. When do you go live ?
The NDI 5 is excellent for me and i need a one to one around production setup with you. .. i want to and willing to pay and support in ways for tutoring and workshop like it.. please lets us connect. 💟
so just to have at least one stupid question between all the praise: so I simply fill the regions in my slides green where I want it to be transparent and am otherwise free? If this is how that works then the possibilities go way beyond monochromatic sidebars and lower thirds, right?
Yes! Although, you don't have to only use green. In Ecamm, you can key out green or blue, and in OBS, you can key out any colour you want.
I say get creative and try all kinds of slide set-ups. Just keep in mind where your face will be positioned.
@@CatMulvihill thank you! I'm so enjoying your videos. Can't wait to use it all and explore the possibilities!
I love you....
You have a pleasant presence but I think you can increase the effectiveness of your presentations by showing us, instead of only telling us!
It takes you nearly 3/4 of your video before you start showing us things. In the beginning, when talking about the slides: show us what those (uncomposited) slides look like. What your viewers will be creating. Etc.
Keep it up!
Audio seems soft for this video
no clear sound
The volume is VERY low.
