- We had a great viewer question asking how our milk gets picked up and how we get paid for our milk. We'll cover all those topics as we milk our dairy cows, and catch our milk truck driver when he stops to load the milk. Our milk gets picked up every other day, but in the state of Minnesota, it can be picked up every 3 days. It really depends on the milk truck driver and how much room he has on his truck. We belong to AMPI, a farmer coop that has 7 different plants making numerous products including award-winning cheeses. We get paid per 100 lbs. of milk. Alan opens up some awesome viewer mail and lastly, we hit a huge milestone! We have surpassed 25,000 subscribers so it's time for a giveaway!! Trinity Dairy was established in 2006, in Minnesota. Alan and Jennifer farm with their 5 children; Jessica, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, and Jason. We milk a mix of 33 Jersey, Holstein, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, and Ayrshire cattle. We also enjoy sharing our family's love of Draft Horses and using them for logging and other farm work. Grandpa used to milk the cow in the morning and at lunch grandma would skim the top and we would have fresh milk for dinner and for breakfast the next morning. Love those good old days.

Nice to see the milk mans not too shy. My dad was a relief milk hauler for 30 years. He drove every other weekend so the milk man could have a couple days off. I always liked going with him in the truck. I think lime green and black, or orange and grey would be nice looking combos.

Glad to see you back! Then you have to dump your milk for 3 days! We had a 1080 gallon tank, had to wash it by hand every other day! It was in a pit, so you stood on the curb and had a 6ft handle on the brush!

Congrats on 25000 subs. I’m a fan of desert sunset and flambeau red. I’m pretty sure PA has the 3 day rule as well and then you have to dump the tank. If my memory is correct the blizzard of 96 was the only time we came close.

Red and white. I've been milking cows since I was 15 years old, I'm 55 now. When l watch you milk with the family it's like reliving my life. The conversations my dad and I had to the conversations my two daughters and wife had are priceless. But the time is coming our 74 cow dairy barn will be shutting down the milk pump. It is sad. So keep up the good work by showing the work we go through every day.

Hi Allen another great video I had to meet the milk truck driver in the a.m when I farmed I was the herdsman it’s done about the same way please keep up the great videos I would like to see maybe a green and white hat god bless you and your family
My dad was involved with dairy for most of his life, delivering milk, dairy farming and working in dairies. I remember when he worked nights at a dairy cleaning the giant vats and wherever the milk traveled. I was lucky to see some of it a couple of times. He was only 5 ft 2 inches and not big and climbed into their vats through a circular door (something like a front loader washing machine door). He would then wash them with a strong detergent and with pressurized steam hoses. He once had a steam hose get away from him and ended up in the hospital with 1st and 2nd degree burns for a bit.
The dairies bottled milk in containers they made on site, made ice cream, cottage cheese and also things like cheese dips. They mixed and bottled orange juice and punch drinks from concentrates. He enjoyed it thoroughly and was proud that his systems always passed inspections.
Another interesting thing he brought home was something that looked like a large candy kiss shaped part made up of tiny highly compressed wires. It was a part they ran the milk through at high pressure to create homogenized milk.
We also occasionally had ice cream or dips that was not just perfect and couldn't be sold. Nice.
As far as a hat color I like black and white like the cows, but don't need a hat. Hope you have a lot of good suggestions.
