    Are dad had his own milk truck outside of Guelph and hauled milk a total of 40 years in Ontario. I worked for Wark’s out of Alma hauling inner plant products for a while. Lots of great memories going with Dad and it was how myself and brother learned how to drive. Lots of days we miss it but like lots of things the little guy is getting pushed out and everything is getting bigger. Great video.

      I remember when milk trucks were tandem rear axle trucks, now they show up with a B-train.

    Compare to our milktruck this takes forever and also our trucks have GPS tracking for the milksamples and the volume automaticly registade by the truck so this was a eyeopener for me how it is going overseas, but still enjoyed watching the video greetings from a Dutch dairyfarmer

      That's interesting! Our country is often a bit behind with most things. Can be good and bad 🤔

    Hauled milk for 34 years here in Michigan. See the standard is a lot different there. Wonder if they check for bacteria.To take the dipper off the wall to take milk sample would never go over here...but know every state is different.

      Oh yes! They check for bacteria (BSN), somatic cell count (SCC) % butterfat and % protein . Curious to see how it will change with the new barn.

      Hi Bruce there was a question about how many gallons your truck holds. I said 8000 gal. Is that close?

    Hello my friend and family. How are you doing today? How many gallons of milk does he get in one load?

    • @HollcanaFarm
      @HollcanaFarm  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We are doing pretty well. Having a little break from the barn building and enjoying Easter. I'm not sure how much the truck carries but it might be 8000 gal. Thanks for watching!😊

      Sorry, it's 36200 litres, split between 2 tanks, which should be 9650 US gallons.

    What are you going to do with the old barn . Are you going to miss the contract with the cows.

    • @HollcanaFarm
      @HollcanaFarm  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We plan on using the old barn for raising heifer calves. I'm not sure if we will miss the contact with the cows or not. I think there will still be contact but in a different way. We look forward to increased cow comfort and less worry over old machinery, stabling, water and building breakdowns. I guess the contact will mostly be with misbehaving cows from now on, instead of all, good and bad. 🤔
