After using a Pixel for a while, I'm pretty used to the power and volume buttons being where they are. I've actually come to like it, as I feel like I adjust the volume pretty often while using the phone. So it works for me... But I get that if you switched phones often, it would be pretty annoying.
Yes, at first I didn't like it but after I used the 6a more often, I actually prefer the placement, especially for a relatively small phone. Thinking about why the sudden preference, I realized that I use the Vol. buttons way more than the Power, so having it easily accessible means I don't have to reach for the top everytime I want to tune Vol especially to increase it. Imo this is more practical, so kudos to Google!
I am used to it. I actually only Power On by tapping the screen. Don't have any trouble to power of with the button or often just leave it to 🔒 itself.
Last google phone I had was the Pixel 3a, it was pretty impressive I have to say. I think it was $400 and google even hand delivered it to my door, offered to set it up, etc. Not really an android/Google person but that phone even impressed myself! The camera (software) on that phone was absolutely mind blowing. For the $400 price tag and it’s photo quality absolutely shit all over even the top iPhone photo quality from the same time period. If this 7a is anything like the old 3a, it’s a very solid performer and impressive performance! Shoutout to Floss and Shoes!
The Google Pixel is impressive as is, but the A series has always had my attention. But I’m always up for a brand new real review. Once again, you have my attention.
Thanks for keeping it real here. You didn't just say "buy the 7", you gave the 7a it's due. Prices will always lower on BOTH of these phones, and the 7a will always be the lower priced one in the end. I was stupid and jumped on it at launch (but in my defense, I got a free set of Pixel Buds and a surprisingly nice case for free from Google as an incentive to buy it so....) and I honestly do not regret it. It's better than my old Pixel 6 in every way. Great review as always Floss!
@@katinasoutherland7693 Everything that didn't work well on the 6 (fingerprint sensor, not being able to use a glass screen protector because of the crappy fingerprint sensor, etc.) are fixed here. @@invisible4356 I agree, but not completely. First, camera software on Samsung phones needs a big polish/upgrade. As many features (Moon shot, Directors cut, Single take...) as they packed, same old problems have been there for years now, basic stuff (shutter lag/blurry photos of anything that's moving, choppy videos, unpredictable camera results...) and Samsung flagships cost more.
@Nathan so do I, I love it. I’m just reconsidering Samsung cause it’s so cluttered and has extra apps that google already has on the phone. For example, Samsung Notes…but Google notes it already on the phone…. And sometimes those apps can’t be deleted but only disabled. I don’t really care about the camera or gaming as I do most of my gaming on my pc,console,or handheld console. The pixel seems very clean. Also Samsung flagships are so expensive. I have the Pixel 7. Bought the 7a to see if i could tell a difference between the two and i honestly cant. From performance to camera quality. They both feel like the same phone. I kinda like the 7a more for the smaller and lighter form factor. I highly recommend this phone if your on a budget but still want rhat flagship camera and the Pixel experience with the Google OS support.

Just ordered this to upgrade from my Pixel 4a. That phone has done me great but the battery is starting to get pretty bad and the phone is getting really laggy. But for the $300 I paid over 3 years ago I'll take it. Can't wait to get my new pixel as it has so many improvements over the 4a
I was thinking about coping the 7a as my android device, but T-Mobile had a promo and was able to get the 7 for $96 with no trade in. Can’t beat that deal
What's good Floss long time subscriber here I ordered the fully unlocked Coral Google Pixel 7a last Wednesday got it at my door Friday. This Pixel 7a is alot better then my fully unlocked Motorola edge 2022 256GB of storage. Camera is alot better then any phone i had before. Signal and reception and call quality is no issue like it was for me with the Motorola edge 2022. Great excellent video man 👍
As always, great video! and the comment "With Google's processing, you could put Google's processing on a potato phone and the pictures gonna come out good" is perfect!
I have the Pixel 7 pro after my dad switched us over to Telus. I had a few budget phones over the years but I realized I needed something faster and a better camera for nighttime. I had the galaxy grand prime and Galaxy A5 2017 but after that I got the pixel 3, then 6 and now got the 7 pro.
You are absolutely right about the power button. Especially being a two phones nelson. I have accidentally called 911 too many times by trying to adjust my volume because I don't remember which phone I'm holding and which button is the volume button. Also, the pixel 7 pro is actually $900, so even more savings. Actually $400 savings if you go with the 7a.
I bought a Nothing Phone 1 instead of Pixel 7a, having the power button alone on the right side is so much nicer with the volume buttons on the other side!
TH-cam just recommend me your video since I've been looking for reviews of this phone because I'm thinking to buy it and THIS is the type of video I was looking for, someone that has really tested the phone and says you the real thing. New sub and great job man 👏
GG3 has much better scratch protection, which I prefer as I never use screen protectors. All the GG after 3 focus much more on shatter resistance, and scratch much easier than 3.
I actually like the Power-Vol rockers placement on Pixel better. Admittedly took some getting used to, since it's not the norm but since I use Vol. Buttons way more than Power, it makes sense to me that I can easily reach it on my 6A compared to having it on top like the others. I think that's the thought behind the setup from Google.
I've been thinking about getting the 7 instead but I think the only difference is the smaller screen and $150 less. But I think the camera is a little nicer on the 7a too. I watch videos so I didn't really want to go down to a 6.1 inch screen but I think I could get over that.
The 7a is a good deal, but the cameras and everything else are a little better on the 7 than the 7a. The 7a's camera having more megapixels means nothing.
Man, I got a pixel 7 pro and I do like it. It is smooth as hell with all my tasks. However, it is driving me mad that UAG does not make a monarch case for this. I hope they bring it back with the pixel 8 series. Other than that I do like the phone a lot
@@CreamPieSundays it's froze on me once back in the December update. Since then it's been fine. The phone runs warmer than my Samsung s21 ultra. Never had it overheat on me. Battery life has been fine, same as my s21 ultra
@@huntergibbs7797 You're luckier than me, mines freezes at least once a week. While playing db legends (the only game on my phone) and TH-cam. The YT was under the circumstance of using talk 2 text while a video was playing. The phone would freeze then hard reset. With legends it "freezes" but the music is still playing 🤷. The overheating is ridiculous, I got an overheating warning the first 20-30mins of owning the phone. I have so many issues with Pixel to name one, why can't I control two separate volume lvls at the same time? My old LG v60 (my daily driver again) I can and it's very helpful. I still haven't found an overall phone better than the LG v60, which is pretty alarming. The Pixel 7 pro besides camera seriously let me down.
@@CreamPieSundays hate to hear that. I'm over here complaining about not being able to buy my favorite case for it lol and you're having these issues. If Google went back to snapdragon chips things would be so much better
The battery for the 7 pro in my experience has been lackluster. I've only had it since December of last year and its been a pain having to charge it 2 a day
I got used to the power button placement but the volume buttons are too low it's annoying while on a call. software side pixels run very smooth but Google needs basic customizations available elsewhere, let me hide a friggin icon or remove the fixed widgets from the home screen using the pixel launcher, it just needs very simple improvements.
Good review I just got this phone today as the 7 was for 799 CND and the pixel 7a was 599 so I went that route. Nice phone for my needs. Thanks Flossy for the review
Love your review floss and White Shoes. I still have the Pixel 4 XL, and the Face unlock matches my iPhone 14 Pro max. I am thinking of trading my Pixel 4 XL for a Pixel 7 or 7 Pro. Keep up the good work Floss and White Shoes
Floss hopefully you'll get your hands on a pixel fold soon because your thoughts will determine if I'm get my first fold phone or if I will wait on the pixel 8 pro 🤣🤣 you like the guru or the sensei of this tech stuff bro!
Great review, both the 7 and the 7a are fantastic phones but my choice would be the 7 over the 7a, i was sold on the display and don't mind paying a little extra for that, replacing my old pixel 2xl that I loved so much and the speech to text is an absolute must for me, thanks a million for your in depth review.👍
@@camotech1314 Yes but not by anything noticeable, i just liked the slightly larger screen , i ended up sending mine back for the pro and never looked back, i am getting older it's better to see what I'm doing and typing, I'm a diehard Pixel fan Google makes these phones so easy to use, sometimes i swear to you the phone reads my mind on what i am trying to do and either does it or give me helpful suggestions iPhones are great but i just don't like the company behind it that tries to monopolizes you with everything not that Google doesn't but at least you have many more options. Congrats on your 8pro I'm waiting until they work out any bugs on the 9 before i invest in another upgrade.
@@selwyncallender399 AHH nice, so now we actually have the same device since I ended up sending my pixel 8 pro back after getting a great deal on an open box pixel 7 pro. I actually prefer using the phone with a curved display. It's so much easier to use gestures, feels like Android is made for a slightly curved display. Also the performance between 8 Pro and 7 Pro is basically the same. I haven't been a fan of Apple like ever due to their locked down eco system and monopoly agenda. The last iPhone I ever owned was an iPhone 4 about a decade ago.
I prefer the aluminum frame and plastic back better than what Samsung and OP have done. I was able to get an open box pixel 7a for 390 at bestbuy, you could save if you look
I sold my pixel 6 for £200 recently and got a pixel 7 for £400 so £200 net spend and I love the 7..Loved the 6 just not the battery and horrendous fingerprint scanner.Great video as always big man 👍🏻👍🏻 #Basicallybrilliant 😅
Just a couple quick points (and far be it for me to critique your videos because you do one awesome job and I absolutely love the humor you add in - VERY refreshing!)......that being said, your take on "basically" is well stated and definitely understood, but one thing is there IS a huge difference between a 6.1 and a 6.3 screen when certain people are holding a phone! I'm a "youthful" 68 year-old guy with smallish hands, and also dealing with a bit of arthritis! My (standard) Pixel 6 was a 6.4" display and even though it was not the largest, it was a bit cumbersome for me to use with one hand. I just acquired the (again, standard) Pixel 8 back in October with, I believe, a 6.2" size and it's like day and night! I know there are only a couple inches difference which makes them 'basically' the same but in real world usage, those two inches are huge! The other point is the screen display - I've seen the brightness on the Pixel 7a compared to the Pixel 7 and the 7 is much brighter and clearer in bright sunlight than the 7a...........my Pixel 8 peaks at 2,000 nits so it's a truly amazing screen in any outdoors lighting! "Basically", in my humble opinion, those couple points PLUS the other slight upgrades on the standard Pixel 7 make that device worth every single dollar in the $100.00 price difference!
At this point i think i am addicted to Google's photo processing, its soo good man, one of the main reasons why i love the Pixel line, great review as usual Floss 💯👍🏽

I'll upgrade on black Friday to 7a from a 5a. Pixels are the best for me. Definitely getting my money's worth. 128gb works just fine. I don't load my phones with movies or have a ton of apps
I'm interested to see what they do with the pixel 8 pro I bet you that's going to be a lot better hopefully they fix all the problems that nobody likes I've never owned one but I almost bought the 7 pro but I bought the 22 ultra instead
I thoroughly enjoyed this review. You have an excellent speaking voice and I like your sense of humor! God has blessed you with these gifts - may they bring you joy and wealth.
Floss. U should do an entire video on tensor speech recognition n assistant typing/editing. U seem to be the only/few reviewers who really appreciate how amazing it is. It’s the reason I have a 6a. I’m primarily a 13 mini user. Form factor is paramount for me n 13 mini is lb for lb king, imo. Love or hate iOS/apple, can’t deny 13 mini technological achievement. Easier to put top specs n battery in big phone, not easy in small phone. However, ios is boring n pixel is intriguing. I’m rambling. I just heard u; So sorry to hear re ur moms passing. Peace, brother.
Bro I was dying the entire video. Hahahahaha. Legit spent hours watching boring review videos of all the pixel phones… searched your name and this one popped up. Basically made up my mind 2 mins into the video. Big ups G. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Something about the consistency of Floss's style. It's comforting. Can I say that?! Lol😂 I know of one other TH-cam channel that's just as good but it's not tech. Thank you F Carter
My thoughts on Ja: This was said by another former pro athlete, I forget who but it goes like this…”If you wanna live the hard life, you’re going to make life hard.” And that applies to everyone
Personally I think the biggest difference between the 7 and the 7a is the wireless charging speed. I use a pixel 6 and a pixel stand 2 and the charging speed is fast enough for me to replace wired charging. Whereas from my past experience, a samsung phone with 9W wireless charging, I often need to plug in bc I need that extra speed
I’m getting my first google pixel phone I ever owned on Monday lol. I’m getting the pixel 6a in black and getting the google charcoal case as well and it’s on metro by T-Mobile
Awesome video floss! 1 saw you have a radar detector and idk about other people but "car guys" would love some more car tech like that. I'm running a uniden R8 and would love to know the floss factor on it (or the one you're running)
I didn't think I'd ever say this but this orangey pink is killer. I want it. Might get one. Can't buy it in my country but will just order it somewhere else :D
My Mrs will now fall asleep to your voice only second to David Attenborough. She talks along to 'it's your boy floss, back again with another video' and sings along to the white shoes song. She also know what tgh means and she hates my obsession with tech! I'd say that's a win
You're spot on flossy when he says the power button is not in the right place the charger not in the box no micro sd card slot for expandable memory things in the mobile phone world is going down hill rapidly but flossy wearing his Samsung watch 5 so there is hope shout out to flossy mixing up his watches thanks man
I waited for this for so long brother 😊, i never own a pixel but i know each one of them haha ..you know its really hard to get one here in the Philippines, until now im still using the realme x2 pro haha , its ok as long as i watch your videos, it's like owning one hahaha, , how i wish i got one, in my dreams haha, full support here brother keep safe as always
Lately my ZF3 has been crapping out on me so i thought about getting the Pixel 7A cause I really like the size, but I ended up pre-ordering the Pixel Fold from Google. They offering $800 for my ZF3 and I don't think anyone else will give me that much trade in credit (plus a free Pixel watch). So $1,000 for a Pixel Fold doesn't sound too bad to me. As always Floss with the best reviews 👌👌👌👌

Man, I got a pixel 7 pro and I do like it. It is smooth as hell with all my tasks. However, it is driving me mad that UAG does not make a monarch case for this. I hope they bring it back with the pixel 8 series. Other than that I do like the phone a lot
Does yours freeze, overheat, and die quickly? Mine dies ALL THE TIME, the phone is smooth with a great camera. Everything else imo is mid 🤦
I've only had it since December of last year and its been a pain having to charge it 2 a day
I am in the UK and this is the first review from you that I have watched. I have watched quite a few on the 7a and this is the best. Thank you.
I'm also a UK subscriber and have been for years. This is one of the best tech reviewers on TH-cam.
I made the mistake of buying this before first seeing what Flossy had to say about it…I’m glad my gamble paid off since the 7 and 7a are the same 😂
its been one and a half year since i last watched phone reviews. Now i'm ready to look for my next one. First thing i though was Flossy's video.
That orange colour looks sick as 🦆
I got used to the power button placement but the volume buttons are too low it's annoying while on a call. software side pixels run very smooth but Google needs basic customizations available elsewhere, let me hide a friggin icon or remove the fixed widgets from the home screen using the pixel launcher, it just needs very simple improvements.
Don’t forget that the ultrawide camera on the 7a is 0.5x zoom, while the one on the 7 is only 0.7x zoom.
Good Morning from N. California!.. Floss coming in with the big booming voice... 🫡. Stay blessed Man!
Floss hopefully you'll get your hands on a pixel fold soon because your thoughts will determine if I'm get my first fold phone or if I will wait on the pixel 8 pro 🤣🤣 you like the guru or the sensei of this tech stuff bro!
Probably in July
Great review, both the 7 and the 7a are fantastic phones but my choice would be the 7 over the 7a, i was sold on the display and don't mind paying a little extra for that, replacing my old pixel 2xl that I loved so much and the speech to text is an absolute must for me, thanks a million for your in depth review.👍
Is the display much better on the 7 vs the 7a? How are you enjoying your phone mate? I recently bought the Pixel 8 Pro and it's brilliant.

What OP?
I'm sorry and my condolences about your mom floss so "Happy mother's day" to your mom brother from myself, my mom and everyone else in my family!!!
That colour is crazy 😮
Excellent! All the required information presented in a fun way! Thanks - you're number One, Flossy!!
How is the battery life?
Yeah I love it too lol
@FlossyCarter can u do the crusher anc 2
Coming up!
@@FlossyCarter can I buy em off u if u don't want them
10 minutes in and this is already the best review of this phone. These Pixel a phones just keep getting better.
Will be glad to get a hand on this but don't have the money for it 😅 .Flossy carter kindly make me a giveaway please.
This is a phone that is actually on my radar. When the pixel 8 comes out and I am due for an upgrade later this year, I will probably be getting of the pixel 7 phones. Gotta see if I can get that 7 pro though 👀
Lol why would you buy the outdated version when the new version is available. Makes no sense
@@redstang70 Because of massive sales. Its what I do every 2 years.
@@redstang70 the times where flagships are worth the money are over. The previous generation are easily good enough to keep pace
@@redstang70 🤡
I love the Pixel phones! I've had the first Pixel XL, the Pixel 3a XL, the Pixel 4a 5G, the Pixel 6a and now the 7 Pro and I just have loved my whole experience🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I've only owned pixels so the power button seems in its natural place. I definitely don't want it on the other side
Brother here i am again , i don't wanna buy pixel phones but you are so entertaining and likable personality that i am willing to watch this 1 hour long video... you cheered my mood up man
Cheers brother
Who needs school when we have Flossy teaching us all these fancy words
"The presentation: very lackluster." love it.
Waiting for that Pixel fold video! 🍿 😜 🍹
I was waiting for your pixel 7a review for the seal of approval. I will definitely check this one out
"two cheap @$$ burgers that taste like @$$"
Keep doing what you doing floss. Imo still the best in depth tech youtuber.
Time to watch this movie - it’s gonna rock. But I can’t drink thot juice :(
Been going back and fourth about buying the Pixel Fold, waiting on that Floss review before making a decision on buying it!
I thoroughly enjoyed this review. You have an excellent speaking voice and I like your sense of humor! God has blessed you with these gifts - may they bring you joy and wealth.
Thank you so much!
We were waiting for genuine review, you've given that, so thank you regarding that!
Always nice watching your reviews because you're such a happy guy and your little buddy is always by your side. That means something ma friend.😻
I appreciate that!
Big ups G. 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Got Android 15 on my Pixel 7 Pro yesterday, the new animations are so smooth and nice!! ☺️
Nice. Been waiting for this review!
Something about the consistency of Floss's style. It's comforting. Can I say that?! Lol😂 I know of one other TH-cam channel that's just as good but it's not tech. Thank you F Carter
My thoughts on Ja:
This was said by another former pro athlete, I forget who but it goes like this…”If you wanna live the hard life, you’re going to make life hard.”
And that applies to everyone
I'm doing cardio but I do cardio to Floss when I see what he does.
The only guy to get phone reviews from!
Low key, a lot of us appreciate these phone case reviews
Personally I think the biggest difference between the 7 and the 7a is the wireless charging speed. I use a pixel 6 and a pixel stand 2 and the charging speed is fast enough for me to replace wired charging. Whereas from my past experience, a samsung phone with 9W wireless charging, I often need to plug in bc I need that extra speed
I’m getting my first google pixel phone I ever owned on Monday lol. I’m getting the pixel 6a in black and getting the google charcoal case as well and it’s on metro by T-Mobile
orange a bit maroon or white google pixel phone is so cool sweetness.
The RDAs be my favorite part of the real review 😂🔥
Awesome video floss!
1 saw you have a radar detector and idk about other people but "car guys" would love some more car tech like that. I'm running a uniden R8 and would love to know the floss factor on it (or the one you're running)
I'm using the escort 360 CI. I love this one
Got the blue one coming today it's my first pixel ever!!
Only Flossy would and could get this colour of the pixel 7a! Wonderful!! Our man!!😊
Thanks for Spigen Cases review!
I didn't think I'd ever say this but this orangey pink is killer. I want it. Might get one. Can't buy it in my country but will just order it somewhere else :D
agreed! It reminds me of the flamingo pink Samsung s10e.
A 1 hour video, let's gooo! 😍
My Mrs will now fall asleep to your voice only second to David Attenborough. She talks along to 'it's your boy floss, back again with another video' and sings along to the white shoes song. She also know what tgh means and she hates my obsession with tech! I'd say that's a win
Lmaoooo yo I listen to David also, that’s the voice of the animal kingdom 😂
You picked a winner 🏆🫡

Lmaoooo my girl hates it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol I'm definitely getting the shirt!

Love your videos Flossy Carter😊

My Condolences to you and your family Floss. Stay Strong.
Thanks brother
yessir watching this review in full FOR SURE. Really considering this phone!
