EVERYONE can I have your attention, for true 90 hz you must do this: Developer options > force peak refresh rate, the smooth display option that switches between 90/60 is buggy I can see it switch its annoying as hell this fixes it, nobody mentions this!
@SamscrewuGaming some people do enjoy the smoother display, and the battery saver limits the screen back to 60hz when you enable it, and it's optional too
@@SamscrewuGaming I use a 90hz phone, if I change the settings to 60hz I can see a very big difference, u kinda feel like the phone is lagging but it isn't, I prefer smoother display, for me 60hz phones are a downgrade
Loved the keyboard options especially permanent number row. Another useful setting you did not mention is the gesture cursor control (under glide typing) which allows you to move the cursor by sliding your finger on the space bar. I used to get so frustrated trying to position the cursor to an exact spot by tapping and moving my finger in the text box.
Hey i got the google pixel 7A yesterday and have spent the last few hours getting things organised. Thanks for all the tips. One thing i cannot find is the system navigation in Gestures. I absolutely hate having to swipe to go back and was looking forward to fixing this but that option appears to be missing :(
Actually, the very _first_ thing I do is to activate the "old school" buttons. Why bother with all that swiping, when you can just tap on an option. Talk about complicating simplicity. The next thing is to disable all vibration, haptics and touch sounds. I absolutely _hate_ the vibration, in particular. The next thing is to download and install "Swiftkey." I've been using it for years and it has "long press" options, as _well_ as a number row option, so that you rarely, ever need to toggle keyboards. Finally, I get rid of that pointless Google Search Bar, (I use Chrome, so what's the point?) which you can't delete, or move and is always there and in the way. To do this, I install Nova Launcher (I'd actually prefer to use the Google Launcher, but there's no option to move/hide the search bar) which remembers all the settings from previous phones, once downloaded. Actually, I didn't know about the Search Bar, before buying my (otherwise) wonderful 6a. If it weren't possible to remove/hide/move it, via Nova Launcher, that would've been a total deal breaker, for me and I would've returned it immediately! 😉😉
Loved this video! Great tips! Also I use “force refresh rate” and “screen protector mode” even without a screen protector. It makes the phone much more fluid.
Turning down haptics, notifications, nosy Assistant, as much as possible, nfc and bluetooth off until i’m using Sleeptime: go airplane mode plus do not disturb. 8:31 changed power button to power. 9:14 backtap?
Can SOMEONE tell me where to enter my home address? I typed it incorrectly months ago and now I can't find it. It's an important detail when setting extended unlock!
This video was useful for me today. Ironically, it was to activate a 3 button navigation feature that the youtuber labeled as archaic. Not only did they have the audacity to remove the buttons as the default config, but they also inverted the "all apps" and "back" buttons.. BLASPHEMY!!
i'm upgrading to this phone, i ordered it but i just have to go in the 10th pay for it and pick it up, i'm currently gunna be upgrading from samsung galaxy note 10, is there anything i should know? thank you(:
I'm looking for Adaptive sound but it seems the 7a is missing this option... Does anyone know if this is correct or if I just didn't manage to find it?
@@yeon723 It's actually not bad now. I had to get used to swiping everything instead of pressing buttons (moving between screens, etc.). Also, an hour after I started using the phone, it got REALLY hot. I almost took it back, but it cooled down a few minutes later. It will still occasionally get warm, but nothing like that first day. I pretty much only talk, text, and watch TH-cam videos. I'm sure the phone can do a lot more than I'm using it for. I'm kind of old, but my 17-year-old nephew thinks my Pixel is great. Best wishes to you.
Thanks for the triple point animation speed tip. Worked on my still snappy 4a, no option to choose 90hz on the 4a, its only a 60hz screen. Personally i hate seeing the battery percentage as i think I'd develop what electric car drivers call range anxiety, also if i need to know the percentage at any time i can just pull down the notification shade a bit, or as i call it the roller blind! but i just wait till i get a heads up at 20% but even that annoys me as i don't recharge until around 10% or below when the battery symbol turns red, but i admit i have forgotten and its shut down whilst browsing, i wish they gave a heads up at 3% or red battery icon started flashing.
You can wait to see the S23 FE, but if you need a phone today, just depends what eco system you like, google android or galaxy ONE UI, both great phones
I've been using Pixel for 4 years now, and I'm still learning; the crazy part is this is probably only 5% he just showed you, and I'm not even kidding.
The 1st thing you should do is stop buying Pixel phones, more often than not they don't work the way you want them to and you get suckered into buying them by these Google paid, you tubers!!
They bend easier than an iPhone six and that had bend gate after only a second in my back pocket and accidentally sitting down was meant like a banana it does still work but hard to use now the aluminium body frame is very weak, never had a phone bend before so easily

Thank you for showing how to get the 3 buttons back as a disabled person I can't always do a reliable swipe, so I'm glad they still exist!

What's the battery life with True 90hz is like?
Or you can just leave it in 60 Hz and save you about 2 hours of battery life 🤷

Thanks so much for explaining what "remove animations" is! So much less distracting.
Thank you so much. I got my 7a yesterday and I was a bit frustrated. Nice to know I have options. This so helpful
Thank you. I spare a lot of time and frustration with my New Pixel 7a
Wow great video. Learnt heaps and will be using alot of these on my new 7a
Thanks for this - lots of great tips! I LOVE getting those 3 buttons back...I'm one of the archaic folks, what can I say! 😂
I have watched a lot of videos as I am about to get a pixel 7a on contract here in the UK. These tips stand out well. Great video. Thanks.

1st thing you do is a format reset because u can't be 100% sure if noone use that device before even if it's brand new...
The first one is also a good advice not just for phones

Great Video please do more on the 7A, however the HONG-AMY case is WAY more protective.

Force refresh rate forces 90Hz on the AOD too which wastes power, the AOD normally runs at 30Hz.
Alex- real quick- best most comprhensive vid on a Pixel 7A ever- automatically subscribed !
Thanks so much! These tips were a great help!
This video is a treasure, definitely the video to watch when you have pixel 7a
I love the animations of the pixel phones. I would never turn them off, even if it’s „faster“.
Turning down haptics, notifications, nosy Assistant, as much as possible, nfc and bluetooth off until i’m using Sleeptime: go airplane mode plus do not disturb. 8:31 changed power button to power.

Thanks Alex, I used most of your suggestions.
Quite helpful, thank you!
Absolutely great tips. Thanks!
Just got the device, moved from OnePlus, gonna take some time, but so far so good
Great video! I also ordered a Spigen case, they're the best.
Thank you so much for your video, I am so much less stressed about switching to my new pixel🎉
This was the best video on Google pic 7A Thank you so much!
Awesome video...thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the helpful video. I'm having a problem with the double tap. Can't seem to get it to work properly unless I'm misunderstanding it.
Nor me, maybe because I have a case fitted?
This video saved me on the keyboard numbers and many other useful tips.
Thank. This is all very helpful and easy to understand.
Very helpful thank you!
Nice, but would advise against using the 90fps "Smooth Display" option as it will eat battery. Also I would calibrate the battery first.
calibrate how ?
Why on earth would anyone use a display at 60hz (with lots of lag) instead of 90hz, if it's available??.
@@Arestas25 He literally said "as it will eat battery"
This was a great video. Thank you for the information

Wished someone would do a tutorial on how to change from Samsung galaxy to Pixel 7a. There are no equivalents to some features I'm used to.
Thanks . Got at least 5 things i like and implemented on my phone.
the battery % thing was worth the whole video !
Amazing setup guide, wow, thank you.
Maybe my visual system is slow but I would never sacrifice battery life to increase frame rate above 60hz.
Thank you so much, very helpful
Very informative bloke. Have you made one on how to set different ringtones for callers? I have searched but they only show how to change my ringtone.
Hi! Question how can i recover my pin in the setting? not pin to unlock
Great smartphone tips, thanks 👍
very helpful, Thank you.
Sir bought this model yesterday, receiving sound while calling is very low, also while playing video. Please suggest what to do

Does quicktap still works if you have a case?
Will you still make Samsung tips?
Hello Guys isnit possible to remove the Google search bar on the screen? Or place it somewhere where you don't see it? Thank you l.
How do I get rid of the pull up menu with the app I just want them all on the main home screen

Great video men respect!
how do you get back out of developer mode
removing or speeding up animations does not make your phone faster, it just makes it less smooth
excellent video!!!
on my android 14 I don't seem to have smart lock feature....
It might be called 'extended unlock'
the developer mode was new and nice ;)
any tips to keep 7a cooler? thx

Funny how most of these settings are the same as my 4 year old Xperia 1 have.
I think smart unlock is called extend unlock in Android 14.
I'm looking for Adaptive sound but it seems the 7a is missing this option... Does anyone know if this is correct or if I just didn't manage to find it?
It's right there in ”sound&vibration”
Thank you! I just got this phone today and hate it. Still not sure that I'll keep it, but I hate it a little less.

This seems like a completely unfair comparison. It’s a premium flagship vs a budget phone.
S23+ costs nearly twice as much . S23+ costs more then the 7Pro
