The Black Series did a phenomenal job with each of their cars. This to me is the best example. It doesn't have canards or anything over the top. It's refined but brutal.

The SL65 AMG Black was (still is?) one of those monsters I'm glad they built even as it's one I've only seen one at a car show, and being reasonably rare even when new, it will probably stay that way. Though I do wish the engine sounded more like the unit that Pagani used in the Zonda's. Still, there's so much to love on these things that it has maintained not only it's undercover-ish status as a supercar, but they're still quite expensive when they show up on the registries for sale. Love, love, love them dearly!

I gave it a valiant effort some years ago and went on a novel-writing tirade, but sadly either my usual best effort went unnoticed or the market on reading has slid precariously far off the Cliffs of Social Refinement. If, however, you enjoy the style, I have two series on Amazon beneath the 'Rose Petals and Gunpowder' and 'MechaNation' monikers.
If recent comments are to be believed, perhaps I should have focused on automotive journalism as I've had positive feedback on several channels. Nonetheless, thank you for the continuous compliments (and the inspired content, of course!) and if nothing else, I'll have to commit to tit for tat and scoop up some Novitec merch in the very near future!
Edit: In the event you go looking, evidently everything on the Kindle editions are dirt cheap right now, as I've just discovered. Honestly I haven't looked at them in quite the while, but I preferred the Rose Petals series in the timeline of things. That and the samples are free, of course, or completely free if you have the unlimited plan. =)

I love these cars, I remember fawning over the AMG 190 E back in the day. M and AMG are spread thin on too many regular production cars these days
The M275/M279/M158 always sounds like an angry V8 than a V12, especially in higher tune and better exhausts.

Mercedes became my favorite brand when this car first came out in 2008.
It's funny. When you're a little boy--teenager you dream about Porsche's and Ferrari's. Then you get older and hopefully wiser...realize sports cars and supercars are useless and wasted in city driving. That most of us don't have competitive race experience on a race track...or don't live in Europe ...thus, most people don't have the driving skill to enjoy a 911 or Ferrari (more so if we live in Canada or the USA). That GT cars like this one is what we SHOULD be buying or SUV's. Love this car. Except the tire slippage. :)
Good choice on the car but I wouldn't have been able to settle on just one after seeing that sardine can style of a hypercar bunker. Man there were some nice rides there!!

One of the best benefits of the 65 roadster is the ability to hear all the engine song all around you. The Twin Turbo V12 sings a guttural basso profundo sans roof.
Could you imagine a Novitec tune and exhaust on it. Some nice OEM Plus wheels and lowering springs!!!
