6 degrees in the tentacle itself, and 1 more rotation in the gripper

@@ytec3d interesting, what I see there is a series of 6 joints with 2 degrees of freedom each. Am i wrong? Are you getting around this redundancy somehow?

Each set of 2 joints is driven. This gives me 3 sets, each with 2 DoF. You can go to the project page in the description to find a basic explanation of the mechanism.

In all seriousness, the water had me nervous... I think the next step would be putting a water-proof material around every part of it. If, all your plans to improve it have already been done. It's sort of a last step really. But it'd have to be able to give it freedom of movement and keep it safe from water. Other than that, the movement was pretty slow and it struggles to carry the bottle so... There's possibilities for improvement there too.
Other than that it looks really cool! I can't wait to see what else you do! Very awesome. :)
