Without the AI. It would just be you controlling it instead of the other way around. I wouldn't want an AI telling me what to do. Bad enough the government does that. Lol
Looking to build a robotic arm that does not need to be contained behind a fence while studying animals for inspiration that are kept behind fences for safety...
Do you think this could be a new piece of firefighting equipment? I imagine this being used both as a fire hose, and a way to quickly lift disabled people out of burning buildings.
i'm callin' BS on the "egg gripper" test. to me, it was too much smoke and mirrors. the regular gripper could probably be easily modified with a controlled release valve that would decrease the closing force on the egg (along with less air pressure) it probably could be adjusted to not break the egg. ON The FIN GRIPPER, it was interesting that they had a device that was made JUST large enough so that when the gripper fully closed, the outer ends of the gripper came together which STOPPED any more tightening on the egg. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE the idea of the Fin Gripper - and I would like to see it's properties developed. but I TOTALLY disapprove of being given a demonstration like this - it undermines (at least my) confidence in a corporation that would do this kind of thing. The test was bs haha. I think the point is just to show that the fin gripper more intuitively responds to the object without having to program any feedback force control. I guess the down side is it can't be as precise either. It makes me loose confidence in tv programs like this in general. Instead of explaining the pros and cons they dumb it down to a bunch of jokes and simplistic demos. Are viewers all that dumb?
True. I don't think this tech will ever replace traditional robots heavy industrial applications or where there is significant pushback (welding, machining) but perhaps due to the safety and light weight (maybe cost) they could be used in other applications. I don't see any mechanical reason why they couldn't be faster, maybe over shoot?
I'm pretty sure the fish fin gripper will become useful in many ways.
Holy shit! It scared the hell out of me when that robot arm hit that man!!
郭牧楠 I totally expected it, but it scared me too.
Me too! I felt so bad😟
My life would be fulfilled if I had one of these attached to my shoulders
Oh, at first i read ‚my wife‘
I'd like to see Skynet have an uprising now that they're robot death-machines have pool-noodles for arms!
Biomimicry is perfect balance of form/function, needs to be more used in design
that fin gripper could be used in robotic female "parts"
it is great for packaging for sure
where can i get the full documentary on youtube??
Very interesting and funny too.
if only I could make smaller, longer ones that I can put on my back (like doc ock

really cool stuff
This guy should really watch spider man 2 haha
so awesome
This thing is perfect for amputees who still have part of their arms.
If it smaller and + camera it can help to find victim earthquake disaster, or for special force.
YOU CUT OFF ON THE BEST PART. What about machines that move like them? WHERES THAT
its easy METAL GEAR
Skip to 4:00 for the actual thing.
“Well done dumbo”
Where can I find the paper of this please ?

Because human being are too harmful for the animals.
It's not the elephant trunk im scared of, it's the rest of the elephant that spooks me.

How do I buy one. How do I make one.
find a way to make flexible plastic bladders and hook them up to variably controlled pressured air and bam
Muito bom! para todos que gostam de engenharia robótica é maravilhoso! por nunca pensei em algo parecido antes? Parabéns!
Nova would be much better without David Pogue. Cant stand his pedantic yet still thinks he's funny presentation.
3d printable?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sarcasm?...

If you learn from nature.
Who teach nature ?
Nature was great design.
its okay but I prefer robotic arms to be more mechanized.
Jesus Christ, the Lord God Almighty is Wonderful...
its slow and not as strong/precise

Thid is just prototype
He touched that raw egg with his right hand and then went to shake the dude's hand, what's wrong with this guy.
I suspect they are both conversant with how to wash, after recording a scene to camera. Obviously.
Robot arms are about precision and speed. This robot is the exact opposite

"I've never heard about prototypes"
they could have realised while designing it, before buidling a prototype.
Depends on the application. As described in the video, a flexible arm does have it's advantages.
Denis Lipatnikov can't really think of one, but that might be me.
@@henk6172 amputees. It's a movable prosthetic.
NASA's Robonaut is waaaaay better
I cannot stand how sugarcoated this tv show is. So much cringe!
