They are really good, I bought 2 Daiwa Tanacom 1000 and a shimano plays reel last yr when I went to Japan, almost half of the price. unfortunately havent had time to use it
You need an eglass only 8’ jig stick with a #10 tip rated 20-50 lbs and a nice fast retrieve on the reel of your choice. Calstar 6480H is a crackin stick, mate! Cheers!
Love your show👍. What would be nice to see is information regarding, fishing location, distances, how long the journey, tides and what to look for when fishing. All these things help keen fishos plan there next trip.
Congratulations guys!! So glad to see the deep dropping come good after ball sack city last time!! Never tried bar cod before..its now added to my list...
Couple tips to maybe think about if your interested. 20-30lb single mono for cannon ball weight. They get stuck the least. Swivel on top and bottom of rig. First small fish you catch from area you fish, butterfly it or scissor spine it and keep it head to tail full length and put it on top hook and send it back down with a small glow squid on the hook. When you make your rig make top jumper little longer and swivel on mainline and by hook. If it wraps jumper line hook can still spin and it untangles once it gets to bottom.
in trinidad we use that size of bonito, fillet it and cut huge chunks, like 3” triangle pieces of bait and pin it on the hooks, so the small fish wont eat it all of before a big fish comes and wacks it, next time try the bonito big slabs.
I’m dying. Lmfao! Great intro! Try a slider rig instead of the three-way. Lots of trace off the swivel separating it from the mainline. I like the glow sleeve between the weight and swivel and a bead to protect my rod tip from the weight. Best wishes
Another great vid mate. You may notice a significant drop in the number of snags by using only the two hooks on the top of the jig. Those bottom hooks are always prone to getting wrapped up on the bottom.
Another awesome video mate, we have just had our spanish turn up in numbers so hopefully i will get out amongst them plus a new motor to get me there quicker, also got a custom short stroker rod due this week so got a lot of virgins to break in , hopefully get a video of my own up soon
I see it mentioned a few times below but another method for line removal is basically shape up a map of Australia out of fencing wire like the old snapped off car aerials, put the two ends back in the chuck of a cordless drill and wind the line between essentially the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Great Australian Bight if you know what I mean. A "H" shape with a bit of meat in the middle!
The H wire on the cordless is a safe way for binning line too once it gets to landfill. Run a knife up the guts and you are only left with 30cm bits rather than hundreds of metres at a time!
Just curious, what do you do with fish that you dont keep that "bulge" up when pulled from the depths. Do they die from it or can you save them and release?
You can release them back but you need to puncture their air bladder. You can either puncture it (correct procedure) swim it back to health or you can actually use a rig to drop them back down to release it
Sam O'Sullivan very rarely do you catch something you can’t keep out in that depth mate. But yes you can vent them if you wish to release them. But better off keeping them and go home once you have a feed 👍
You need to make a unit you can fit into the chuck of the drill to help empty your spools when you are changing lines out just make a cylinder of pvc pipe , 2 circles of ply to fit the ends of the pvc pipe and a piece of dowel to put through the center of it long ways to put into the drill chuck , you can wind the line / braid onto it then cut through the line / braid to remove it .
those jigging reels have to be at least 6:1 retrieve ?might sound old school but have an old Penn senator setup with braid now that looks like a dinosaur compared to your gear. nice feed well done enjoyed the vid
Sammy, I'm amazed why you don't have 360K subscribers. You have all the great content for us SEQ fisho's and mix up your trips, maybe a "collaboration" with the misses doing a sort of Hooked on Brooke is better than more "sac content!" We all share your tackle pain and check the boat for bananas but as they say Prior Propper Planning Prevents -iss Poor Performance. :)
Coralita675 hahahah thanks mate! Yeah looks there is always options to do it that way, maybe I could even chuck a bikini on myself 🤷♂️🤷♂️ hahahah I hope it doesn’t come to that! 🍻🍻
Who shot the little samba on the wall in the shed m8 ? If you would like to see a proper one look up 40.5 inch sambar . It’s on my channel. Crap vid but the deer is worth a look . Nice one on the cod man we love deep dropping with the electrics 2 and just started jigging for ogleys as well got some big boy ling and blue eye last week . Thanks for another sick vid man always gets me keen
Electric reels must surely take the challenge and fun out of it. No feel and flex and "play" the fish with feel. Just like winch on a 4x4 - push a button and away you go and it just pulls and pulls...
Next time Shauno is unspooling his line, tape a 2L bottle or something else cylindrical to the end of a drill. Tie her on and let it rip. Saves heaps of time and you can respool the line on another reel if that's what you're about.
Why oh why is Shauno stripping his reel the hard way? I get a straightish stick and put in my drill, tie the end of the line onto the stick and open the bail arm and then press the drill trigger slowly to start and it will all wind off onto the stick nice and tidy to just throw in the bin! Hope to see you guys do this next time.... ha ha cheers from Emma.
Ahhhh bugger.... I love your channel so much. I have MS (multiple sclerosis) so we had to sell our boat to buy medical stuff and lost my job.. also i am now on a permanent disability pension. and I miss fishing so much! but watching you guys keeps me happy lol until I can afford to buy a new boat that is lol lol
Sammy When you set up your droppers make sure that the distance between your swivels is at least double the distance of your droppers. This prevents the fish crossing over as if the do then some times you will lose one. We use 8/0 or 10/0- hooks and it does not hurt to snell 2 hooks on the top dropper and put a yakka or pilchard on it.
tim ford yeah mate, he had the end of his line cut in and needed to cut it to make a new one. Which turned into a mess! Appreciate the support mate! 🍻🍻
Happy Sunday legends! Hope you enjoyed the episode! What do you reckon? Time to invest in an electric reel set up??

Top session boys. very enjoyable.
Steve Hassan Cheers Steve 🍻🍻
I could almost feel the pain when you lost 200m of braid 😂 good stuff boys so cool you got into some Barries! Flametail next #godeeper 🔥
Will Kitching hahah the absolute worst, even more so when the spool is only 6 hours old 😫😫😫 ahhh well, deeper next time 😜
Shauns Fish in adventures I like it. Also use a bite leader on the jig then lighter leader then main so you don’t loose all your braid
Robert Johnson haha he wishes! Yeah I’ll be using a bite leader next time for sure!
Well done lads !!!! One thing I notice is how hardy livies are, baratrauma affects all bought up but the livies go down and up and still kick around.
Gavin Swanson yeah the old livies go hard hey! The snapper could take some notes 🤣🤣

Peter M Yeah we got there in the end 👍👍🍻🍻
I’m dying. Lmfao! Great intro! Try a slider rig instead of the three-way. Lots of trace off the swivel separating it from the mainline. I like the glow sleeve between the weight and swivel and a bead to protect my rod tip from the weight. Best wishes
Mike Ludwikowski cheers for the tips mate 🍻🍻🍻
“Like a big kick in the deep sea ball sack” I’m dying 😆
I think it’s “Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance”. Mint video Sammy 💯💯
Proper preparation prevents piss poor performance polly
Issiah Brooks haha yeah something along those lines 🤣🍻🍻
Wooo, it's that time!
adamnrenee 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Entertaining video well done mate
Another great vid mate. There’s an extra “bloke” element with Shauno involved. 😂😂 Needs to be more of it. 👌
Kelly Salmon hahah is that because there is double the rods when Shauno is there 🤣🤣🤣 cheers! 🍻🍻
Sammy Hitzke Fishing 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another great vid mate. You may notice a significant drop in the number of snags by using only the two hooks on the top of the jig. Those bottom hooks are always prone to getting wrapped up on the bottom.
Shanaka Abeywickrama Yeah all over it mate 👍👍 I like the added hook coverage of top and bottom assists too much 🤣🤣
Nice job Boys, Well Done. Sammy you really have to invest in one of those electric reels, or wait till Shauno's not looking, call it a Hitzke Tax!!
DCA001TUBE hahah I reckon I just got grab it out of his shed when he’s on a trip! My reel now 🤣🤣🍻🍻
Another awesome video mate, we have just had our spanish turn up in numbers so hopefully i will get out amongst them plus a new motor to get me there quicker, also got a custom short stroker rod due this week so got a lot of virgins to break in , hopefully get a video of my own up soon

blackfin15 yeah mate another great idea. I like to put it back on an old spool. Easier to store 👌👌
The H wire on the cordless is a safe way for binning line too once it gets to landfill. Run a knife up the guts and you are only left with 30cm bits rather than hundreds of metres at a time!
You guys make a great team.
Craig McCann cheers mate! Appreciate it! 🍻🍻
giid vid Sammy love it legends
Better Tackle 🍻🍻🍻 cheers mate!
Hey mate, did seano make his own rod locker? Any chance he could do a walk through of it?
Just curious, what do you do with fish that you dont keep that "bulge" up when pulled from the depths. Do they die from it or can you save them and release?
You can release them back but you need to puncture their air bladder.

@@SammyHitzkeFishing Cheers for the reply mate, I was just curious as i havent done any deep fishing. Looking forward to Sammy Sunday 🤙🤙

System Renegade Yeah mate we usually use a drill like I did, shauns line had cut in so he had to cut it to get find the end 👍
Sick vid mate
Obie Austin thanks legend 🍻
Crimps detract from your mono breaking strain by 30 percent blood knot simple and strong.
that fishing shed is insane
R Dev it’s drool worthy hey! 🍻🍻
If you want to unspool your reel quickly, get a stick that will fit in a drill. Tie the line to the stick and pull the trigger.
Kenna Craft, jr. yeah mate, he had the end of his line cut in and needed to cut it to make a new one. Which turned into a mess! 🤣🤣
Nice one Mr Sam!
OldMate Adventures cheers mate 👍
Get an empty line spool and jb weld it to something you can chuck in a drill to get the old line off your reels. Its a little bit quicker lol
Well nevermind..i shouldve watched longer lol 😂
robert smith haha yeah mate, Shauno just had the line cut into the spool so had to cut it to find them end then it turned into a bit of a mess👌
I literally just opened a beer and the notification pops up. How’s that for timing!? Spot on Sammy and Shauno you lucky dogs 🤙🏻
cringy
HW bloody unreal mate, hope you enjoyed the episode 🍻🍻
Top job mate roughly how far out do you have to go ? Glad to see you and Shauno doing well Congratulations
Darren Lloyd about 50km our mate, it’s a fair old hike 🍻🍻 cheers!
Mate if you use 10/o’s you prevent getting the ball sacks. 😂😂 and any other small fish for that matter.
Riley Weiss but the small fish are tasty!! I wanna catch everything 🤷♂️🤣🤣
I leave a few mm out of the crimp and burn a little ball on the end to prevent it slipping. All spearfishing rigs are done that way.
kizz jd Not a bad tip mate 🍻
Great action! What depth were you fishing?
Rob Gilbert thanks mate, we fished between 200-250 👍👍
Sammy Hitzke Fishing Thanks Sammy. I posted the question before I got the point where Shaun mentioned that. Will be more patient next time. :-)
Enjoyed that mate what gear is Shaun using
Craig Kelly cheers Craig. Shauno was using a beast master 9000 by shimano 👍👍
those jigging reels have to be at least 6:1 retrieve ?might sound old school but have an old Penn senator setup with braid now that looks like a dinosaur compared to your gear. nice feed well done enjoyed the vid
Scott Tillotson yeah mate 6.3:1 I think. They bring in about 110cm per crank, but do it effortlessly! Cheers! 🍻🍻🍻
Hey sammy, which video is it where you and shauno were catching the the fish use refer to as ballsacks.
Does Shauno have to winch everything??? haha Great job....
Clint Rzoska hahah yeah he likes to take the easy route 🤣🤣
deep dropping 101 !!

Kristine Harrower Thats a gopro hero7 on my head there 👍👍

de-winding line Tip #3 cordless drill pencil or stick in chuck tie line on pencil and let er rip :)
Mike King Yeah all over it mate, that’s what I did, Shauno had the line cut in so had to find the end first 👍
Shauno's TH-cam "4WD 24-7" took me a minute but located it

taffsy hahah yeah I’ve been checking out a few as well! Definitely need to invest I reckon! Glad you enjoyed the video 🍻🍻

Riki Ward yeah mate, he had the end of his line cut in and needed to cut it to make a new one. Which turned into a mess! 🤣🤣
How much money do you guys have in AU? I could only dream...
Invest in a daiwa seaborg
