Thank you for this video, it was incredibly useful, I broke my driver side mirror off and I preemptively took off my passenger side to fix it. I woke up to my alarm at 9:30 I fixed the mirror, and at the time of writing it is 10:01, under 30 minutes to fix if you have the hardware.
An M5 x45mm bolt will do nicely + nyloc nut, 2 washers and something wedged into the spring to keep the bolt still (I used an M6 nut that I forced in there). And best cover it all in grease to stop it rusting again
My mirror broke off and I actually dont want to buy a new pair especially bc there in a special color. What screw did you use for the inside of the mirror ? ( not the 2 ones mounting the mirror on the car).

The door was having a full paint and restore after this, new paint, glass rubber etc, but we dont like to omit anything errors and all :)

a 6mm diameter, long standard bolt anything should do as long as its the same diameter and long enough
