- Even though we’ve seen a few waterfalls throughout our adventures, we have to admit, Sol Duc Falls in Olympic National Park, Washington is a very unique one. Sol Duc Falls has three powerful fall branches, thundering sideway down into a green moss-covered canyon. It is easily the most beautiful waterfall in Olympic National Park. Even better, the hike to Sol Duc Falls is not only short, less than 1 mile, but also easy and quite breathtaking. This makes Sol Duc Falls Trail a very rewarding hike.

There were 2 cars in the parking lot when we got there last time. Def pays to go at the end of fall than in the summer. Although the bridge over the falls were icy
That sounds awesome. Was it flowing pretty good that time of year?
I met Charles Stanley here in 1989. Him and his photography equipment.
That's awesome! Such a photogenic place!
Love this place! You should try the hot spring too since you're in that area.
it's so beautiful! how far are hot springs from the falls? we might need to make a return trip 😁
Beautifully done! I’ve watched a lot of videos on this trail & falls - gorgeous filming.
Just wonder if this is 0.8 or 1.8 or 2.8 miles trail? I heard differently
We clocked it at right around 3 miles roundtrip to the falls and back
Sol Duc Road is now closed during the winter, so unless you bike out there or walk the 14+ miles to the falls, the best flows that are accessible are in the Spring.
Thank you for the heads up!
The road closes around the end of October and reopens usually late March. Every year some trees blow down along the 13 miles of road to the trailhead, so the Park closes the road lest a vehicle gets stranded up-valley during a windstorm--or worse, gets crushed by a falling tree. (I knew two people who died in that way.)
Sasquatch is living it up out there…
If I was Sasquatch it's where I would wanna be 😁
Go to northern Washington, take the scenic Chuckanut Drive between Bow and Bellingham. Also stop there and hike Oyster Dome. You'll get a great view of the San Juan islands. Then make your trip over to Anacortes and get on the ferry and go out to the San Juan islands. Visit Friday harbor, Roche Harbor on Lopez Island. You may see killer whales along the way. When you get back into Anacortes, go west to Oak Harbor and stop off at deception pass along the way. A MUST STOP is the Shrimp Shack between deception Pass and Anacortes, the BEST Clam Chowder and fresh shrimp in the Northwest. You can buy the shrimp by the pound freshly cooked and you just peel and eat out of a paper bag.
Thank you so much man! Vy wrote everything down and put it on the to do list for our next visit. I'm not much for sea food but she Loves it, so she will be a happy girl! can't wait to check out those hikes and views. thanks again! 😎🤙
beautiful video! Do you know if dogs are allowed on this hike?
Thank you! Yes dogs are allowed as long as they are leashed :)
If you go early, like an hour after sunrise, you will see the sun rays through the mist kicked up by the falls. This makes for rainbows surrounding you, which is really magical. Be warned though. This is werewolf country.
Woah! Sounds like something we will have to check out next time! I forget are werewolf's scared of silver spikes or garlic? 🤣
Bigfoot sees you.
We met him before... Cool guy! 🤣
