Chainsaw Carving a Fox

- Chainsaw carver Mark Colp stopped by our house and carved a fox for our front yard. Seven hours of artwork in less than a minute!
Just like my short video ("Chainsaw Carving a Wolf") of Mark carving a wolf for our new home, this has nothing to do with my hiking and backpacking adventures. I just want to showcase this man’s incredible talent and the amazing carvings that he creates.
Talk about a ride lol. This thing went from a stump, to squirrel, to bear, to wolf, and then finally to fox
stump to capybara then to squirrel
Я тоже так подумал)
I thought the same
😂
It was a bear until the very last touches
Great masterpiece.... Amazing talent 👏👏👏
He is an amazing talent. It was neat to watch.
Great Master of his form. To my disbelief, it just kept getting better and better.
After you've perfected something it's no longer talent, it's skill.
1k likes for a bot is crazy😂😂😂
even the basic outline was crazy enough and then the details just brought it to life.
"oh he's splitting a trunk"
"oh its a bear"
"nvm its a wolf"
"a fox"
Exactly what I thought!
Try reading the title next time
I had the same thought process 😅
You forgot the squirrel
I was thinking the same thing! 😂😂
Such high caliber artistry and craftsmanship! Bravo!
Chainsaw Man been real quiet since this one dropped.

Can't believe Nobara got Mahito'ed all over but then Geto was like "it's transfiguration time!" And transfigured all over Japan then woke up Fushiguro's sister, then Yuta was like "it's existing time!" And existed all over the last episode's cliffhanger

Chainsaw artist is such a badass title
I actually have the same title, except I don’t carve wood…

The fact that it only took seven hours is absolutely insane. Beautiful work!!!
Fr he can make 5 a week and only work 35 hours
That's impressive.
A good drawing takes me like 16 hours. He mastered his skill.
Damn, really? I just watched him do it in 60 seconds right now.

Not only does he carve a masterpiece, he proceeds to color it with fire! What an artist!
The sheer skill!
I can't even draw something this beautiful with a pencil, and here's lumberjack Bob Ross putting out masterpieces with a chainsaw and some paint.
Blowtorch not paint
Yeah, it was a blowtorch, but he used something that actually sprayed too. Looks like clear coat?

One day we will be able to buy and transfer talent from brain to brain 😂
Una belleza ..., arte puro...!
Arguably the best video TH-cam’s algorithm had me stumble upon. Amazing talent👏🏼
I'll agree with that!
You mean STUMP*LE on haha
Haha good one. Thanks for watching.
This is so impressive!
Great work bro

That is some wicked talent.
Talent and skill too :)
Its not talent, its just hard work 40 + years
If anyone can do that first time then thats talent, people need to learn english
@@mahdnova3465🤡
I knpw you have no ill intention with this comment and just complimenting him, but calling this skill just a "talent" is an insult to the years he practiced on this talent
@@mahdnova3465.....u r also not correct completely
It is skill....if it took him as kuch time as a normal person to do it it would be hard work it was skill based on hard work
Чудесное перевоплощение! Бесценны_руки мастера, я восхищаюсь!
Wow, this is honestly the coolest thing I've seen all week. The details are insane. Great job!
The beginning captions made it seem like Mark just randomly showed up at your house and started carving a fox
Mark is originally from Alberta, Canada and has lived and worked in northern California for years. We live in Alberta's neighboring province of BC, which he was driving through in September on his way back from a trip to Alberta. We'd arranged months in advance for him and his wife to stop here overnight and carve the fox for us. He'd carved a wolf and an eagle for our new home in 2017 and we asked him to carve the fox for our yard on his way back to California. Thanks for watching.
Impressive to say the least. Some real talent !
Can I ask what he charges for a piece like that? 🤔
Gosh I just hope there's a new generation that will keep stuff like this alive. It's amazing
im 18 and i love wood. i hope to get to do something with wood after school.

This is why I see sculptors as the most amazing artists. They have to be able to see inside that medium to what the final piece will be. Plus, one wrong cut/chip and they have to start over.
unless you’ve got clay!
@@evancoulter5679indeed! Thats why clay is a gr8 beginners medium, and ofc wood lol
@@specificorb3 Is there a similar fix for stone? My medium is stained glass and I've certainly had to buy new pieces of glass for breaking poorly.

Mark Colp… what a legend. I remember his sculpture yard in Lower Lake CA when I was a kid… so cool. Much love, Mark!
WOW! Seriously, how talented this man is.
What does the fox say?
Why call him talented when that might really undermine years of hard work practicing, which I am sure this man has had to put in. Talented just sounds like he happened to be good at this, which holds no merit. Call him skilled, because that's what he is.
Skillfull* I wish people would learn what talented means. Nearly anyone can learn how to do this. It's a learned skill, not a talent.
No one can just do this without ever doing it before.
This man has blessed my small mountain town with all kinds of awesome woods sculptures over the years. Kinda neat to stumbled across this video.
Where?
thats really cool, would love to see some of them & meet him.
🙏🏼
I know that Mark travels a lot. Goes to all kinds of contests, big town and small. He even judges competitions. Thanks for watching, benjamin.
That wasn't less then a minute you can see the time laps from the sun movement but all joking aside badass

Truly a master of the craft, and these guys also get the ability to teleport! I should really be a chainsaw artist
The vid's talking about the first part then he took off a large chunk of wood
That’s so talented, absolutely stunning 👏
That's awesome! Lot of chainsaw carvers where I live, but all of their stuff looks cartoonish. This is great!

To answer your question yes it is beautiful work😂
That’s art.. not crap splatter on a board.. this is true talent
You can appreciate artistic value without degrading others you don't like.
So true
@@stretch1807Nah, crap splatter on a board isn’t art lol
I agree he is talented but let's not take away from painters. You may not like a particular style but we aren't the ones to judge ones art..let's just agree this man has an incredible talent.
@stretch1807 What is artistic about a paint splatter? I've been to so many art exhibitions where there is just a regular rectangular bathroom mirror hanging on the wall 😂 Just a plain mirror, that the artist probably bought at home depot or something for 20 bucks, and then gets credited for it as an artist? Nope. That's not art. Or when a painting with a straight line gets sold for MILLIONS AND MILLIONS. Why do you pay millions for something you could do yourself with a ruler and a brush?
Art is subjective, sure, but there's also a general consensus as to what is required for it to constitute as art. Strangely enough, the consensus only applies to people who don't work with art. 99% of people who aren't artists would never call a blank canvas for art. 99% of people who are artists would call it art if you slapped a made up biography next to it.
But don't be mistaken, if you hung a blank canvas on the wall during ANY art-utopia in history, such as the Antique or during the Renaissance, they would all laugh at you or straight up get angry at you for calling it art. Like it or not, art requires some amount of skill. Otherwise, everyone is an artist, and then being an artist means nothing. Put this fox in front of anyone and they'll call it art. That's because there is some form of objectivity to art.
Awesome, beautiful, and a great job!
Fantastic work 👏
This is amazing!!!!
Тот случай,когда руки,мастерство и воображение-работают в одной связке!
I never SAW an artist like this
