I can see this pattern as a shawl, a two row window valance, bedspread, baptism blanket. And more!! Just beautiful.
Lace? Drape? Put together as you go? This is for me! I will save this for later as I have too many projects going now.😂 Thank you❤
So elegant. I love your color choices. I know it's a throw but I think it would make a beautiful tablecloth
I think you could make a shawl too. It's beautiful, and I think we'll all find a lot of different ways to use this pattern!
A
The 1980s are vintage? I must be an antique!
The 80s are almost half a century ago
Me too.🤣🤣🤣
I know, right? Lol 😆
The 1980’s decade doesn’t seem that long ago.
I printed out a free pattern last night. It’s original printing year was 1952.
I think for something to be considered, it must be 25 years old.
This is gorgeous. Now I have yet another blanket to make. Lol 😂
Its lovely ,im glad its in cotton, great stitch definition
This would be stunning in a icy blue and white/pale gray combo for a more winter-like feeling! Individually these would be beautiful holiday decorations. A pink and white would make for a very nice decorative element for a baby girl's room too. So many possibilities! Great job! You're such an inspiration! ❤❤❤
Are you keeping up With your journaling book of what you made, would love to see it!
The colors look a bit like an egg. I like the pattern! Love your channel!
I didn't think of this until you said it.😊
I wanted to mention that “sharp” darning/tapestry needles exist, the ones I found on amazon work on size 3 yarn or below, and they REVOLUTIONIZED weaving in ends for me. Sooooo much easier and it even feels more secure!
I’ve been using chenille needles; they’re pointy and have quite a big eye. I struggle with some thicker yarns though so thank you so much for your recommendation 🧶❤️🐾
I definitely can't crochet as well as you but i like to have your videos on while I'm workin on my projects and you inspire me to try harder things
I love all of the tips you give along the way to improve the look of the piece.
Hunter/emerald green is my favorite color ever. I am picturing this with that sort of deep but vibrant green and an ecru, and my heart is going pitter-patter...
My MS won't let me work with the small thread, I'd love to use at least a dk weight or larger
@@RealMelodyBlue I think it would be a pretty doily if you used the bigger thread.
If you make a throw, yarn and not thread would definitely be the way to go! So that would be much easier
@ShainaMakesStuff I want to make a lap throw for my wheelchair, it's going to start getting cold and my legs and feet freeze
That will beautiful as well. Hope things are going well for you.
@Hippiechick11 I am just recovering from a real bad flare, couldn't walk for almost a week, had to have my nurses get me in out of my wheelchair. But I'm doing a lot better now.
You know how that crotchet cotton is so stiff. Does it get soft when you wash it? I havent used it because its so stiff i thought you could only make doilies with it.
It does get softer! It can even become very soft, eventually, if you machine wash (on delicate) often. It will always be a bit heavier and have less drape than acrylic, but the longevity and stitch definition of cotton thread is superior in my opinion. I have some vintage pieces (I even have crochet-edged handkerchiefs that have been washed at least hundreds of times) and only cotton seems to survive. They still look incredible!
Also, mercerized cotton #10 thread can be used for lacy table clothes and curtains/valences, if you don’t like the feel of the finished product.
@@vysharra thanks so much. I have my grand mother's and great grandmothers crotchet and irish lace they made. It has declined in beauty as it goes down the generations. Ie my great grandmothers stuff is amazing my grandmothers impressive my moms lovely and mine a bit of a mess I even have some of my grandmothers fine cotton thread ..not sure what the guage is. Some of my grandmothers less fine coats which I think is mercerized cotton ..Two boxes brand new of blue thread and I bought some larger synthetic to learn on myself. I think its 10guage and my grannies coats is 20 or vice versa and then there's two grades of croon one quite fine and one so fine it needs a .50 needle which is so tiny... the box of lace scraps is one of my favourite heirlooms. I also have an Edward ian dress my great grandmother was making in bright green mulberry silk with blackface. Probably 1910s 0r 20s for an older fashion. Anyway thank you I will try the heavier cotton at least.
Gorgeous project. Interesting that they are calling for acrylic. I used a lot of crochet thread in the 70’s-90’s and don’t remember ever seeing acrylic. What I have from older relatives are cotton also.
This is absolutely beautiful. Wonder what it would look like in purple.
This is beautiful. You could easily make a shawl from this and the tassels would be precious
Girl the news just said it’s on a be 116 today. What the heck? 😢
4:00 That's a great tip to yarn under on the first sc of the round. Thank you😊
I love a more difficult pattern!!!
This is beautiful! Great job 🎉
Loved watching you make this design. Well..I have binged watched your videos. Will be going to your store to buy some pattetns. Thank you so much for your dedication. Subscribed to your other channel to have a wee look also.❤
Super pretty, C.! I love how you are able to take the most complicated patterns and make them approachable by just taking the stitches in little bite-sized chunks. So well explained and demonstrated. You're wonderful at that! Thank you for everything you do! Hugs, always! (Hoping James is doing better, I've kept you all in my prayers.)
Wow! People had a lot of patience back then! I’ve made doily’s before, but this is doily’s on Steroids! 😄 Have to try this, even as you said just one square! Thank you! ❤️😇🙏
Okay, I just started Tulsa King! I'm hooked!
I am so glad you're doing this pattern because I remember my aunt making this pattern, now she made a long dress with a long tail oh my goodness it was so beautiful, her colors were dark pink light pick, she did crochet some little very little flowers around the waist it looked like a belt that hook the tail on, she was married in that dress as well, I just had to share with you, thank you again so much 😊😊😊
So the skill level in this is: do not attempt if you are a beginner or unless you really like crying 😭😭 in frustration.
Good to know. I won't be attempting this one. I have been on too long of a hiatus from my 1865 shawl. I am a beginner. Just started crocheting this summer.
I love that you think out loud especially when doing a mystery pattern, it is what I sometimes do even when I know what I am crocheting.
While I don’t plan to make this I like watching your videos your voice is very clear and nice and I like watching you crochet. Keep it up 🥳
That is so pretty !! Very detailed for sure , it makes a pretty doiley too , a wearable wud be so pretty as well many things !! Thank You so much for this !! Awesome video 📸 !!
This is beautiful and I've just recently started reading patterns but I'm not that fluent in reading them yet depending on the difficulty level. 😢. I can follow along no problem when it comes to videos though and can do so even without sound (when in another language) as I'm accustomed to the difference stitches. Where I get confused is when doing the 2 or 3 together and, how and where to connect the motifs. I wish you could have completed the second motif and then show how they were connected for those of us who have ADHD and do better with visuals rather than reading of patterns. Love you and your channel though!😊
I just bought the pattern, only 11 minutes into the video. I have teal and cream yarns ready to go. May need a magnifier tho😂Thank you ❤
Lovely pattern! And your explanations are always very easy to follow along with. :)
I can do all the stitches but can't read a pattern without throwing it across the room and giving up. I already saw a discrepancy in the instructions and what you finished
Just seen this, but I've got to go out 😥.. well I've got something to look forward to when I get back. 😀
Great tutorial. Thanks for keeping it real. Gorgeous motif. 🦋
This is gorgeous! Adding this to my list of projects for sure!!
Do you sound a bit raspy? hope you are doing well or get well. I like the look but I think I never will be able to do this with thin yarn.
23:19 ???🤔
It's gorgeous. And that's so sweet of you to share it for free.❤
Great job I can’t see anything that small. ❤
Great title, it got us looking and commenting.
We seem to be missing some instructions on the second round of white
So pretty thanks for sharing 😊
❤Really amazing
Absolutely beautiful! ♥️
You are so talented. Beautiful
Love it! Beautiful!❤🙂
Wait, what do you mean pico at the end of the second round of the white (round 6)? I thought the repeat is a cluster then in the in next 4 was 2 treble in each and then another cluster
from the look of it there is a chain 5, pico, chain 5, between each repeat. She may have just forgoten to film that bit
@@Savannah2581 once I viewed all of the video I realized how I had to do that round. THX
I have finally completed this pattern. It's the first crochet piece I've tried with thread. I love it but I will definitely NOT be making enough of these for anything. I really don't see how you crochet so well with thread. I already thought you were fabulous but now I have an even greater appreciation for all your work. THX🫶
I am also confused about this. I'm not sure what to do.🤔🤔
@@dare-67 I frogged mine and then did what @savannah2581 said
Absolutely gorgeous! 😍
Really beautiful, I love it
Love this pattern it is stunning 😍❤
I shall not be making this
Wow! This is stunning.❤
Thank you for showing us such a truly beautiful project! I am the most basic of beginners, and I am in awe of your skill. ❤
Thank you so much!
I sure have missed you! This is so pretty! I think I would use a lightweight yarn. I hope all is well with James. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Vintage? 🤔🧐
Lovely. ❤🇨🇦
You are a real angel
Just beautiful
So pretty
