But superconductors are special (at one time was thought to be impossible material to make), they allow electrons to pass through it without resistance. The puck was already a super conductor, cooling it merely locks the field it produces into place.

A small correction! Some superconductors can conduct electricity. A few metals were shown to superconduct, and that's how they were originally found. But after research it was found some ceramics superconduct but don't conduct electricity. The ceramics are used as the metals have to drop to 1 or 2 K, compared to ceramics 24 K. Making it FAR easier to produce the superconductive properties
Superconductive quantum locking is probably one of the coolest, most futuristic phenomena in the world. I can't wait until we figure out room temperature superconductors and start using for everything just for the cool design factor.
