Samsung POWERbot R7070 Review - Smartest Robot Vac?

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 22 ก.ย. 2024
  • Lisa Gade reviews the Samsung POWERbot R7070, Samsung’s mid-tier robotic vacuum cleaner. No, it’s not a smartphone, but it does work with your Android and iOS phone over WiFi with app and it’s compatible with Google Home.
** Get it on Amazon: amzn.to/2GRb5kB
This is a higher than average suction cyclonic vac that picks up more dirt than the most robot cleaners. It has a large 11.4” front brush roll, edge cleaning squeegee, ceiling-facing camera for mapping, IR sensors, cliff sensors and intelligent power control (it goes into high power mode when it detects carpets). It comes with a remote and the usual home charging base. Unlike Roomba, this isn’t a random bump and go robo vac, it cleans with patterns that somewhat mimic human methods and it avoids collisions (mostly).

Great review . I have four short hair dogs. During summer months dog hair does get out of control. I have tile flooring and just purchased Samsung R7070 a week ago . Vac works great to help maintain control of dog hair. Great product I highly recommend this robot vacuum

So far so good with this vacuum. th-cam.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.

So, some information out of curiosity.
Both LG and Samsung, despite being more known for smartphones, TVs and other electronics have been doing robovacs for a relatively long time... almost as long as iRobot actually.
I couldn't find what was the first Samsung Robovac, but they have been doing them at least since 2003:
    gizmodo.com/007984/samsungs-robovac
LG goes back even further to 2001 with the Roboking/Hom-bot line:
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LG_Roboking
Even though Roombas became the most famous brand for this category, it was Electrolux that introduced the first device... aptly named The Trilobite. xD
    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electrolux_Trilobite
Electrolux announced it first, but the first Roomba model and the first Trilobite both came to the consumer market in 2001 along with LG's Roboking... but some of those might have been limited to South Korean market and whatnot. So that might be why.
But you know, Samsung and LG are electronic giants... their products have been trickling down to western shores overtime, but you gotta go to Asia to see how much of a market dominance they have. 11 years ago on a trip to Japan I saw Samsung products like: a fancy electronic bidet style toilet seat, massage chairs, rice cookers, bread makers, cooktops, plus a bunch of other stuff.

I had one of these, just now returning it. At first it was great, was telling everyone they should get one. after about a month it had a funny turn. One morning it sounded strange, got out of bed to look what was happening. it had just been sat on one place not moving on full power. left a black mark on my carpet and had worn away the brush roller which was all ragged now. started it off again and it was acting really strange doing backward wiggles like it was stuck but it wasnt. i sent it back for repair to samsung, when it came back it was rattling like it was old n falling apart, the suction was now really poor, it hits into things more. very disappointed. i looked after it, cleaned filter n rollers, used it less than average and it lasted only about 2 month working properly
