I got this one because I have an old dog who... has old dog problems. I have had a couple mishaps with the roomba and dog waste that required me taking the roomba apart to clean it. I am hoping this one will avoid running over any dog messes. Plus the roomba just sort of banged into things, and was very loud when it did. I actually had to put padding on the roomba to keep it from marking up our furniture.
*I absolutely love this thing for cleaning all flooring surfaces **MyBest.Tools** even does a great job on throw rugs. Highly recommend! Cuts cleaning time in half!*
. FIIIRRRRSSSTTTTTT =D. Very good review. This is a very REAL scenario of what one of these bots would face in the average multi-floor multi-person household. Great job =D. The only other thing I would have linked to have seen is an assessment of the control app itself. Thumbs up.
Brian Mirante thanks for the feedback! Funny thing is that other than the bot messages that I get we really don’t use the remote, the buttons, or the app except to set up with Alexa to power it on. It’s really just that simple to use and I’m glad Samsung made it user proof. Now a few weeks later my wife loves to run it every day and the carpet always looks like someone vacuumed when I get home!
TheChanClan That's awesome. I'm considering getting one if/when a sale comes around. My only concern is that Samsung (although makes great products) has unbearably slow software update times. Like for example I have a Galaxy S7 and they are a year late sending me the Android O update they promised. On something like a Roomba style vacuum good programing is a huge part of it. How would you say the updates are for this model...if there are any lol.
@@bobbysalazar1740 Haven't really had many updates to the one I bought. It's pretty good most of the time, but it's positional tracking (awareness) leaves much to be desired. It's ability to find its way back to the charger is heavily dependant on where it starts cleaning. Also if you use spot cleaning exactly how it states to do it (place it in the room you need it to run in and press spot clean) it almost never finds its way home. I think this has to do with it's camera based awareness as compared to laser.
@@livenloud6697 so far mine is working well. I did notice the Roombas all have replaceable modular parts you can buy if it breaks down. That fact alone almost had me sold, but I only paid $260 for my Samsung robot so I figured I'd give it a try.
@@bobbysalazar1740 we've been using it every day and it's still working like new. I love it. If you get one I suggest you get an extra filter. I bought an extra so I can swap it out while I wash and dry the other.
Maximus Gueorguiev thank you very much for the reply!! How much more we’ll does the Neato out perform it? My wife and I are trying to decide. I’m team Neato she’s team Samsung. She’s concerned about hair getting trapped in the neato and the rear exhaust blowing pet hair away on tile.
Does the dirt bin or filter get full during a run? will it stop or send notification if this happens? This scenario probably will not happen but just curious...
hi there, in your video it shows that after the battery is low during the auto clean, the bot goes back to dockstation and after recharge, it returns to the previous position. I have the same model but with Starwars Lord vader theme which should have the same specs and behavior but when the battery runs out, the bot goes to dockstation and stays there for good. :D can you help by telling me if i have to insert any code, or do some weird setup config? tks
There's a cleanable filter within the vacuum as well, if you're getting poor suction make sure to clean it out. A bit over a year later,we're still using this for our upstairs and it works great. We use our Dyson 10 around the rest of the house, and you're right the robotic vacuum cannot be compared to a dedicated cordless or corded vacuum as far as power goes, but this is convenience - set it and forget it.
11:25 It was at this moment where I realized the review I had been watching was wildly flawed. As there is no way of knowing how long the massive obstruction existed throught the "test".
Really great review. One question. When you keep stopping and picking the vacuum up and moving it from room to room and floor to floor, how does it know where it is? Does it get lost?
It doesn't really "map" the room and remember where it is. More like it bumps around and figures out where it has recently been. You can pick it up and drop it off anywhere and it will find its way around all your carpet eventually.
TheChanClan can it find itself back to the base if it needs to charge in the middle of a cleaning cycle? If so does it start over or pick up where it left off?
@Bshell1502 The vacuum will return to base and resume with the remainder of the of the cleaning. This can happen multiple times per day until the whole area is cleaned. This is one of the advantages of the Visionary Mapping feature. You can not edit the map it just helps the device keep its place so it does not do rework.

great / Best actual usage review!
Thanks for watching!
by far!
yep
does it remember the map the next time it vacuums or is it acting like a fresh run?
I’m trying to decide to get this or the Neato D4

Yes it will alert you and your phone when the bin is full. Mine has a reminder to check the filter every 15 uses
I gotta get one now. Next time wife hands out the honey do's I will prevail :)
Ya more time to make love

Be sure you don’t have it set up for repeat. It will not resume in repeat mode.
First I thaught this is a crap VAC because it didn't get the goldfish. But later I saw the paper inside which could be the reason for this default.

How did you get it to work with Alexa?
steven mccrorey through Samsung Smart things. It's an app.
Also worth checking out your Alexa app as well to see if it is a skill that can be installed. :)
The TH-cam channel Alyssia Corrigan stole this video.
What a mess and fire 🔥 hassle ! Things should not be on the floor when using a cleaning robot.
