Guys the screw closest to your eyepiece will make the image go up/down.
The screw on the side will pull the image left/right.
You can set the binoculars up with a streetlight in the middle, and make sure its centered in both eyes using the screws.
I dont think this guy realizes that its not much help to tell us where to do something, if he doesn't explain at least a little HOW to do it.
    Clear skies.

What does that do when adjusting the screws? As in what would you see in order to make you mess with the screws?

Been a bonus if you advised what turning the screws actually does and what to expect. Ive collimated loads of physical telescopes and i know the principles but you need to advise whats happening

I find it more practical to use one of the objective lens' covers when adjusting focus. That way, you can keep both eyes open without having to squint, thus achieving better focus.
Also invest in a tripod for these kinds of hands-on videos. Cheers.

I had a few drinks of 90 proof, grabbed a serrated knife, and carved away the rubber over the prism screws behind the right eyepiece, braced them against a pole outside, focused on a sign 500 feet away, and turned the screws until the images aligned well enough to use. 15x70 ones. Now I`m afraid to get the 12x60s or the others. I`m not sure if the 12x60s would offer any benefit but I would like a wider field of view and a lighter set...at a bargain.

I just got a pair and they are decent. The bag is too small for the binoculars though.
I have a smaller Bushnell and its also very good.
I swear I saw a ufo once. It looked like a crescent moon with and extra middle bump and it zoomed passed my field of vision.

Yeah they're great! Agree, the bag could have been made a little bigger! Oh, interesting... Ever seen anything like that since?

@@astronomyscope I have not seen any since but have seen several without binoculars over the years...all different shapes and types. Some obviously manmade and some others that are super questionable.

I just bought the CELESTRON Upclose G2 10-30x50 Binoculars and there is double vision. Can I fix it like that?

    • @astronomyscope
      @astronomyscope  หลายเดือนก่อน

Double vision is often caused by misaligned optics. Try adjusting the diopter setting and making sure the interpupillary distance is set correctly for your eyes. If that doesn't work, there might be an issue with collimation. I'd recommend contacting Celestron support if the problem persists - they're usually great with warranty repairs.

Didn't tell us anything about what actually adjusting the two screws does.

    • @astronomyscope

Hey Martyn. I adjusted the screws to fine-tune their alignment, adjust the focus/tension on the focusing mechanisms.
