So happy I found this video. I was actually researching these binoculars which I wanted to buy for astrological viewing but you two are the icing on the cake. Just melted my heart to see how bonded you two are. Best friends for life right there. What a special way to spend quality time with your #1 dude. Not only does your son get that father/son time but he's learning so much. Plus you could use those for other bonding moments like bird watching or looking for animals in general, like a mock safari and he can make a journal writing what you guys found n some facts about it. This though is just wonderful. I can't tell who's more excited. Kudos, dad!

I had these binoculars for Christmas, and yesterday eve I seen orions nebula with them, just under Orion’s Belt, it was amazing! I was also lucky enough in the summer to see comet neowise (?) with a regular pair of binoculars over the top of our garage, I think that was one of my favs! Astronomy with binoculars is definitely under rated! Have fun with the stars!

My father gave me my first astronomy book; the old ‘50s version of the “Field Guide to Stars and Planets” a great paperback-size with charts and more…He wasn’t really an astronomer himself, but we would also go to the Adler Planetarium in Chicago for sky shows. My dad was a golfer from birth 😄 but he knew that I loved the sky and since I was too young to play golf, we went to sky shows instead. 😀😀

Thank you. I was in the process of buying these or similar but was wondering if it was worth it as I wasn't sure what I could actually see. This video has clarified that for me and I realise it is absolutely worth it! I had no idea that you could see the whirlpool galaxy, for example and I'm sure there are many other surprises out there.
Great idea for a video as most of them don't give a realistic impression of what to expect.

This video is easily the most well-made review of these binoculars! All the other reviews I've seen pale in comparison (they're always so vague, poorly put together, and quite useless honestly). Showing the edited pictures to depict a similar view to what you would actually see was really nice, and definitely worth the effort! And both of you giving input on each view was really informative too!
I've been eyeing these binoculars for a while now, as my first dive into astronomy, and this video is what made me pull the trigger. These & a similar tripod will be arriving soon, and I can't wait to start viewing the sky :)
By the way, how's the light pollution near you? I live in a Bortle 6 area, with nearby access to a Bortle 5 boardwalk/beach. Hopefully the views will still be decent if it's higher than what you guys have.

I can't wait for the chance to set it up and the sky to clear up so he can really appreciate the potential of what the binos can see.
I'm seriously considering getting a phone adapter so he can better see everything without having to get right up to the eyepiece.
Already he's constantly wanting to explore the world around him, I can only imagine how much he'll want to explore once he realizes just how much there is of this big old universe that he's not even aware of yet.

Hi, what was used along with the binoculars to calture these photos?
I assume a lens camera/smartphone mount of some sort?
Also ready if using a tripod get the celestron metal one?
Whats it like viewing the night sky lying down by hand?

I think it's GREAT that you and your son are doing this together. I am curious...did you take these pictures with your binoculars? I would be interested in seeing your photo setup if possible. Maybe another video? I have the big brother to your binocs...the 25x100.

Can you please tell me, which tripod did you use to see these stars? Could you see also the Milky Way?

    • @dsd2242
      @dsd2242 ปีที่แล้ว

Hey. Macrosenia. Yes you can see the milky way if the light pollution is VERY LOW. Not exaggerating.
The light pollution has to be 1-3 in the bortle scale. I'd suggest you check out some websites that are known to predict how dark the skies are going to be. The darker the sky the better.also an interesting thing to pin out.
Is if your living in a city/place with big population and skyscrapers/big cities it is gonna be sorta grayish. The reason for this is because usually the light pollution in the bortle scale is 7-8 THIS IS VERY HIGH. This is a tragedy for astronomers and astronomers only. Infact if your in one of these places or you can't see many stars if not stars at all the chances are your not gonna see much anyways. But if the conditions are like what I mentioned the maximum amount of stars you can see in the night sky is 20.
      I know very disappointing.
I wish humans took better care of the world😢

Great video with I assume your son. It's so exciting and inspiring to see a youngster so excited and curious about the universe and astronomy. I live in Atlanta and the light pollution deters what I can see. I saw Jupiter a few nights ago and that's similar to what I saw. I can't see any of the stripes or details but can see the moon. With Saturn I can faintly make out the rings. My friend whose dad is a Satellite engineer told me you have to spend at least 300 dollars for a decent telescope where you can really see planetary detail.

Extremely amazing when you think a light-year is the distance a beam of light travels in a single Earth year, or 6 trillion miles (9.7 trillion kilometers), 6 trillion miles!
