    I owned earlier iterations of the Multistrada Pikes Peak and Multistrada Emduro and, at first glance, wasn’t sure about all the new tech and gizmos on the new bikes. Then, I got to follow a factory rider around the Italian countryside riding the new Pikes Peak and bought one. As one can see and hear from your footage, the engine and the bike overall really come alive when you become more comfortable and begin to push on a bit. The Pikes Peak behaves like a slightly taller and more comfortable Panigale. The Grand Tour does represent a departure from previous touring models, which as you mentioned were the standard bike with accessories included in the purchase price. It’s also good that versions are evolving as Ducati receives owners’ feedback. (For instance, they are offering a free retrofit ventilated phone compartment for the Multistrada V4 as well as a version of the suspension preload release). Great video, as always, and I am sure Chris is eating his hat.

      "Free retrofit" Nope gotta get it through your local dealer only for the dealer to charge you $100 for every 30 minutes in which they'll claim this is a 1 hour job so this becomes a $200 part.

    The MS V4s is an amazing road bike. The engine is incredible as are the electronics. Surely one of the best in the market. The GS R1250 22 is brilliant also and has shaft drive yet lacking in power by a fair bit. Given the market here at the moment we are talking about USD10k difference between the two. So, the GS is still the best option for your buck and the lack of power is a bonus in consumption and tire wear. I am a Ducati rider for many years but stopped when the pricing of V4s went through the roof. Well done BMW for staying with a rider rather than the money bags! Just saying….

      The problem with BMW is the RELIABILITY, same as cars, and yes, I know is incredible, but Ducati have less problems

    No, pretty sure that's just the option catalogue thrown at the bike, which may be cheaper than optioning a Travel and Radar model. Paint and swing arm are the unique. No rear cylinder deactivation is an odd one to leave out. Very tempting though... 2024 will be interesting year.

    • @fs5866
      @fs5866 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i don't see how cylinder de-activation is a good thing, that just screams problems further down the road when you consistently do not use the rear cylinders.

    The Multistrada V4S, and also the new GT, DO HAVE rear cylinder cut out, but only when stationary. So at idle you only have the two front cylinders firing then the rear two chime in seamlessly. The fuel tank is the same size as the standard MSV4S. Whether the MSV4 is the right bike for you depends on what you want. If you are happy with only 135 BHP then BMW is adequate, if you don't mind the extra weight and you only want comfort the the Triumph might do the job. We are all different, and we want different things, choose the one that puts the biggest smile on your face.

For the cost of this bike and the complexity I am reasonably concerned about having this bike past the two year mark without a factory warranty. Otherwise this bike has a lot of appeal.

    what is the point of going toa 17 inch wheel if we are casual riders, even if we enjoy some twisties and speed? isn't this the reason that Ducati went to a 19 front? noone really needs 17 unless you go to track, right? that is why only RS and PP get the 17. otherwise it is not just useless, counter prductive in the sense of road bumbs harder, but also tiring as you need to actually lean more in town, to turn. facts speak of themselves, ducati has identified what the market actually needs and gave us that. i crashed my v4s as i was going in a turn like min 5:45 with 85kmh and i think i reduced throttle which threw me off low side. Then i went to a 1290gt to try 1 17 inch wheel. God, useless unless you go to track. I also need to lean more in the actual back roads which have sometimes gravel or little rocks etc, increasing my risk. I am selling it and going back to a V4S or I dont know what else is there. Love this guy's reviews btw. he is so knowledgable..
